Myth vs Fact-Part 244

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 375:

Narrated Al-Bara:

We faced the pagans on that day (of the battle of Uhud) and the Prophet placed a batch of archers (at a special place) and appointed 'Abdullah (bin Jubair) as their commander and said, "Do not leave this place; and if you should see us conquering the enemy, do not leave this place, and if you should see them conquering us, do not (come to) help us," So, when we faced the enemy, they took to their heel till I saw their women running towards the mountain, lifting up their clothes from their legs, revealing their leg-bangles. The Muslims started saying, "The booty, the booty!" 'Abdullah bin Jubair said, "The Prophet had taken a firm promise from me not to leave this place." But his companions refused (to stay). So when they refused (to stay there), (Allah) confused them so that they could not know where to go, and they suffered seventy casualties. Abu Sufyan ascended a high place and said, "Is Muhammad present amongst the people?" The Prophet said, "Do not answer him." Abu Sufyan said, "Is the son of Abu Quhafa present among the people?" The Prophet said, "Do not answer him." Abd Sufyan said, "Is the son of Al-Khattab amongst the people?" He then added, "All these people have been killed, for, were they alive, they would have replied." On that, 'Umar could not help saying, "You are a liar, O enemy of Allah! Allah has kept what will make you unhappy." Abu Safyan said, "Superior may be Hubal!" On that the Prophet said (to his companions), "Reply to him." They asked, "What may we say?" He said, "Say: Allah is More Elevated and More Majestic!" Abu Sufyan said, "We have (the idol) Al-'Uzza, whereas you have no 'Uzza!" The Prophet said (to his companions), "Reply to him." They said, "What may we say?" The Prophet said, "Say: Allah is our Helper and you have no helper." Abu Sufyan said, "(This) day compensates for our loss at Badr and (in) the battle (the victory) is always undecided and shared in turns by the belligerents. You will see some of your dead men mutilated, but neither did I urge this action, nor am I sorry for it." Narrated Jabir: Some people took wine in the morning of the day of Uhud and were then killed as martyrs.

Code Pink Emboldened--Patriots Saddle Up

This is a combination post from Spree/HCDL at Wake Up America and Snooper at A Newt One (I swiped both their posts and combined them--and yes, I told them!)

First, the video of Debbie Lee from Snooper's "Another Example of Why We Love Debbie Lee":

Now HCDL's "Call to Action: DEFEND YOUR LOCAL RECRUITING STATIONS!":

Hat tip to Michelle Malkin for this call to action. The communist/jihadist embracing leftinistra's have called out for help and they're getting it. Code Pink has been joined by World Can't Wait in Berzerkely, and as MM shows on her site, they're being joined by other groups as well across the country.

Code Pink's announcement:

Join us for Counter-Recruitment this Friday, February 22nd at our new location at the U.S. Navy Recruitment Center!

Join CODEPINK outside of the Navy Recruitment Center in Santa Monica! Wear your pink for peace as we gather to spread the anti-war message and to educate the public about the risks associated with military recruitment and why it’s smart to OPT OUT. To attend, meet us outside our new location at the U.S. Navy Recruitment Center located at 2708 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica (90403) at 12 noon this Friday the 22nd. Let’s show our support for Berkeley and let everyone know that Santa Monica is still in the running with Counter-Recruitment!

Let us know you’re coming by contacting Sarah at 310.827.4320 or la@codepinkalert.org

An announcement that is obviously calling themselves "Funk the War:"

After many previous protests had found the 14th st recruiter “closed” at 5PM, Funk the War found them open, and the door unlocked at nearer to 6Pm and promptly exploited the situation by demonstrating to them first hand how an occupying force behaves.

After a loud commotion inside while outnumbered cops watched, recruiters finally managed to get protesters to leave-but not before literature and full-body length cardboard displays in the street window area were destroyed. In addition, hundreds more “Funk the War” stickers were plastered all over just about everything that would take them. By the time everyone was out it looked like a tornado had swept through the lobby.

One recruiter tried to grab an activist but found himself overpowered by SDS’s superior strength and numbers and had no choice but to give up!

This came on the heels of the whole group marching in K st and Connecticut Ave at the height of rush hour, closing War Profiteer’s Row to cars fro quite a while. The group closed out by going after DC GOP headquarters, but that door was locked and there were too many cops around to break it down.

Pass the word along, contact people you know who live in these areas and let's put patriotic American men and women out there in numbers to counter these people and send them home. If you live in other areas where you see this sort of thing happening, LET US KNOW and we'll make sure the word gets out.

SADDLE UP!

Silly People and The Cult Of Obama

~Snooper~

The end result of the pathetic educational system in our country, I believe, is coming to fruition in the election cycle we are now in. Idiots are supporting Obama for no other reason than that Obama sure can sound good and he is so likable. Credentials and accomplishments mean nothing. The qualifications to lead this country mean nothing. The fact that the fool Obama said that he will attack Pakistan - an emotional outburst - means nothing.

Theoretically intelligent people within our own CONgress should be able to explain to the American People why it is they support a man totally unqualified for the position of President of the United States.

In a recent interview (video) of a theoretical intelligent person, SS Kirk Watson of Texas, supports Obama but can't name anything Obama has actually done. All that is attempted is to explain what Obama has to offer America right now. And, that is "HOPE". Well, I "HOPE" Barak Obama gets beat like a wet mule in the General Elections because the guy is a socialist/Marxist on top of being an empty shell.

Chris Matthews for PMSNBS/MSLSD did a great job totally embarrassing the idiot Watson on national TV and the poor sloths over at Huff and Puff are LIVID! Check out the comments section. More reactions from the despondent Leftinistra will be spewing forth at memeorandum soon enough but the point is this...Obama supporters, as educated as they may or may not be, are totally dumb and emotional malcontents that should have no business supporting tooth fairies, let alone a presidential aspirant.

Ed Morrissey of Captain's Quarters has the transcript of the interview and we all need to key in on this portion:
[...] MSNBC's Chris Matthews: "You are a big Barack supporter, right, Senator?"

State Sen. Watson: "I am. Yes, I am."

Matthews: "Well, name some of his legislative accomplishments. No, Senator, I want you to name some of Barack Obama's legislative accomplishments tonight if you can."

State Sen. Watson: "Well, you know, what I will talk about is more about what he is offering the American people right now."

Matthews: "No. No. What has he accomplished, sir? You say you support him. Sir, you have to give me his accomplishments. You've supported him for president. You are on national television. Name his legislative accomplishments, Barack Obama, sir."

State Sen. Watson: "Well, I'm not going to be able to name you specific items of legislative accomplishments."

Matthews: "Can you name any? Can you name anything he's accomplished as a Congressman?"

State Sen. Watson: "No, I'm not going to be able to do that tonight."

Matthews: "Well, that is a problem isn't it?" [...]
Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. No accomplishments. No qualifications. No credentials. Just emotional garbage. How wonderful is that? I suppose some may be scrambling to see what they can dream up or fabricate for a list of Barakian Accomplishments. Hillary has none either but that is another story.

Let Us "Stir The Pot"

The following is rewritten and taken from the Levitt Letter which I subscribe to. I thought it was pertinent to what many of us perhaps know already but were afraid to admit publicly. This may be somewhat controversial, even contentious, but please read it carefully.

How many times will you, as a Christian, "turn the other cheek", or avoid unpleasantness(is that a word?)?

Will you pick the tough road filled with obstacles and enemies, or will you choose the path of least resistance and no enemies?

DeSeifering Our World
By Dr. Jefferey Seif. Zola Levitt Ministries.

Should Christians make praying for their enemies an absolute priority? I say absolutely “Not”! By contrast I suggest that Christians making enemies should be a priority and then, once made, we should be praying for them. Sound strange? Listen up.

While Christians are fond of quoting Jesus praying “forgive them; they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34), we do well to note that, though they didn’t know what they were doing, Jesus certainly did. At one level, they were responding to Jesus’ having previously and provocatively taken a whip to individuals in the Jewish Temple (see John 2:13-22). Jewish authorities were, in like manner, responding to having been the object of Jesus’ prophetic scorn in Matthew 23:1-35, in the process of which they were referred to as “ hypocrites” (v.14; cf.vv. 23, 27) “blind guides” (v. 16; cf. vv. 24, 26), “fools” and “blind” (v. 17; cf.v. 24); and, as if all this wasn’t bad enough, Jesus likewise went on record calling them “serpents” and then “broods of vipers” in v. 33.
Though Jesus prayed for His enemies, He also made His enemies on the heels of His provocations.

Paul, for his part, did much the same.

A riot ensued in the wake of Paul’s early ministry in Damascus, and he was spirited away in a basket to avoid getting killed (Acts 9:23-25). He narrowly escaped Thessalonica, when riots followed there (Acts 17:1-10). Luke informs that Paul generated so much discontent in Jerusalem that the authorities “called for two centurions…saying ‘Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen… and provide mounts to set Paul on, and bring him to Felix the governor’” (Acts 23:23-24).

Add Paul's own autobiography to this mess, and we learn that he was slashed with whips many times, and on more than one occasion, beaten with rods, stoned with boulders, and imprisoned frequently (II Corinthians 11:23-33). This guy was a virtual riot-maker! Though Paul graciously prayed for his enemies, let’s remember that he made them too. Had he done nothing with his life---as seems the case with many Christians today---the world would have ignored him, much as it ignores much of the boring and irrelevant in the church today.

It’s for this and other reasons that I say praying for our enemies should not be our priority, as much as making them should be, by taking stands.

Jesus, Paul, and the early brethren did not invoke the ire of the authorities by being really, really nice guys---the image of today’s Christians. No. They “stirred it up” by boldly contending for principles; and they, as we know, got into trouble by virtue of their so doing.

Seems to me that the issue of “praying for our enemies” is a moot and irrelevant point for many Christians today.

Many simply don’t have any enemies to pray for because, contrary to the teachings and examples of Jesus and Paul, they are not doing anything to “ruffle any feathers” in the world.
I say, “Let’s take stands, make enemies and then---of course---pray for them.”
