Community Organizing: Seizing Power, Creating Socialism

Cross-posted by Maggie at Maggie's Notebook

[transcription of above] Our final goal is the destruction of imperialism, the seizure of power, and the creation of socialism. Our strategy for this stage of the struggle is to organize the oppressed people of the imperial nation itself to join the colonies in the attack on imperialism. The process of attacking and weakening imperialism involves defeat of all kinds of national chauvinism and arrogance; this precondition to our fight for socialism.
The above from Prairie Fire - written by William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn

Zomblog has copies of a rare Weather Underground newspaper known as Osawatomie. Published in 1975 as William Ayers and Bernardine Dohn were hiding from authorities, and as Zomblog put it:
"transitioning from terrorism..."
to inside work for the revolution...what we now know was a plan to overthrow the government of the United States, tells us what community organizing is all about, and it's all about the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis.

If you are beyond weary of hearing about William Ayers' connection to Barack Obama, Zomblog makes THE point, and I'll use it here, because it cannot be said better:
Ayers was not simply protesting "against" the Vietnam War. Firstly, he wasn't against war in principle, he was agitating for the victory of the communist forces in Vietnam. In other words: He wasn't against the war, he was against our side in the war. This is spelled out in great detail in Prairie Fire. Secondly, and more significantly, the Vietnam War was only one of many issues cited by the Weather Undergound as the justifications for their violent acts. As you will see below, in various quotes from Prairie Fire and in their own list of their violent actions (and in additional impartial documentary links), Ayers and the Weather Underground enumerated dozens of different grievances as the rationales for their bombings -- their overarching goal being to inspire a violent mass uprising against the United States government in order to establish a communist "dictatorship of the proletariat," in Ayers' own words.
The plan was to overturn the government by "creativity and AUDACITY."
The following from Osawatomie:

[transcript]… the system itself is inhuman, and socialism is a real alternative; the energy crisis is the fault of Rockefeller and the oil companies, not the Arab people; unemployment is caused by capitalism not “illegal aliens” stealing jobs; war in Indochina or the Mideast is part of the problem, not the solution; political and social action can change things.

[transcript of above] Organizers must be intimately aware of every problem and each injustice, and they must show that underneath each particular problem lies another problem, and another and another until you reach the system of imperialism itself. The system is designed to create problems for poor, Third World and working-class people. Organizers need to find small solutions to small problems and great solutions to great problems. Our solutions should be drastic.

We need to build a successful struggle, strong organization and a winning revolutionary party. This is a process, which will not emerge full-blown from our minds. It will emerge and change and grow from practice. We know where to begin.

It is with all this in mind that we have created OSAWATOMIE, the revolutionary voice of the Weather Underground Organization.
The following from Ayers and Dohrn's book, Prairie Fire (more at Zomblog):

William Ayers is a communist. But don't take my word for it. He said so himself:
[transcript of above] We are a guerrilla organization. We are communist women and men, underground in the United States for more than four years.
[Zomblog] And not some nicey-nice peace-and-love kind of communist. Through his group the Weather Underground, Ayers was planning to "seize power" in a violent communist takeover of the United States:
[transcript of above] We need a revolutionary communist praty in order to lead the struggle, give coherence and direction to the fight, seize power and build the new society.

Manufactured Crisis:
[transcript of above] Our job is to tap the discontent seething in many sectors of the population, to find allies everywhere people are hungry or angry, to mobilize poor and working people against imperialism.
You've heard by now that Prarie Fire was dedicated to U.S. "political prisoners,"...one of those deemed a "political prisoner" is Sirhan Sirhan - the murderer of Robert F. Kennedy. Here it is, scanned directly from the book:

The War On Terror- Going After People That Terrorize

Cross posted from Wake up America

Whether one agrees with America's methods or the handling of the War on Terror, it is safe to say that almost everybody would agree that the US spends billions upon billions of dollars going after terrorists. Why does the US ignore the terrorists within?

.
The video above shows the National Imperial Wizard of the National Knights of Ku Klux Klan making statements/threats against Barack Obama, such as "somebody else, down south, will take him out," and "If that man is elected president, he'll be shot sure as hell".

Fox News Chicago was so worried about these statements they contacted the Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security and the Obama campaign.

A recent post right here showed that members of the Dallas Police Department expressed concern over what they called lapses in security at a recent event where Barack Obama gave a speech, where for the first hour members of the public that were attending were screened for weapons--then the screening stopped.

Today, we see reports the Secret Service, who apparently made those decisions, "defends security at Obama rally in Dallas".

In this new article, Eric Zahren, a spokesman for the Secret Service in Washington, states there was no deviation in how these events are normally handled; he then goes on to say, "It was never a part of the plan at this particular venue to have each and every person in the crowd pass through the Magnetometer."

The Magnometer is a device used to detect metal in clothing and bags.

Witnesses at other events, many for Obama, verify this.
Others said they had recently attended large political events, many for Obama, where security screening was halted. Jeremy Dibbell of Boston said in an e-mail that he attended an Obama event in Boston, "the same thing happened there. We waited for hours in line as people were screened, and then suddenly everyone was just allowed in without going through any inspection at all."
It is routine to not screen everybody for weapons who attends these events.

My original report about this event brought up some very disturbing questions and as I started to research, I found equally disturbing answers which led me into the world of hatred and terrorism within America, specifically those issuing threats against Barack Obama, and the glaring question of the US spending billions of dollars going after terrorists while ignoring the threats from terrorists within the US (the KKK, otherwise known as the Ku Klux Klan, as well as other groups of neo-nazi's and white supremacists).

First and foremost, what is the definition of terrorism?

1.The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.

2.The state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is the name of several past and present organizations in the United States that have advocated white supremacy, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, racism, homophobia, anti-Communism and nativism. These organizations have often used terrorism, violence and acts of intimidation, such as cross burning and lynching, to oppress African Americans and other social or ethnic groups. (Wiki)

ABC did a report in 2007, in which they assert the "number of hate groups -- from the Ku Klux Klan to neo-Nazis and skinhead groups -- has risen by 40 percent since 2000, from 602 to 844, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks such groups."

KKK_rally_Amarillo

The KKK originated in 1866 during America's reconstruction after the Civil War, declined after the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871 and rose again in 1915; it has existed in this country since then, in one form or another.

The Ku Klux Klan is not the only group issuing threats against Obama. In my research I ran across many sites, forums and blogs and the comments in the comment sections show similar threats being issued, in some cases they simply discuss what would happen if Obama is elected and "someone shoots him" speaking to how that would cause the "inner cities" to "explode" and be the end of the USA "as we know it".
White Wizard777- If there is a race war it will be the ordinary everyday people who cause and fuel it. Most of them will have never heard of Stormfront. What could cause this? Well, if Barak Obama is elected president that could do it. Especially if someone shoots him. Can you imagine what would happen if a Black man was finally elected President or Vice President and is killed? The inner cities would explode like we have never imagined possible.

So in that case I guess yes, it could be the end of the U.S.A. as we know it.
Others on different forums are not so subtle in their comments though.

The names alone for some of those that comment are worrisome enough but the comments from some of them are clear and concise, such as one from commenter "Kill da nigga" who says "I'm hoping someone will do his public duty of putting a bullet through Obama's head soon."

The only saving grace in that forum was that others were calling them out on the nature of their racism and hate.

White Supremacists, Neo-Nazi's and the KKK, all of whom make no bones about what they would like to see happen to Barack Obama, leaves this blogger with two very relevant questions.

First: Why are the terrorists within the US allowed to operate freely, to threaten and terrorize at will, when America spends billions on fighting terrorism abroad?

Second: How could the Secret Service protecting Barack Obama justify not screening each and every person attending a speech or rally that Obama appears at, given the ongoing threats issued against him?

The threats from these extremist groups within the US increase as the 2008 election nears and yet the security does not increase accordingly.

(Disclaimer- I am not an Obama fan, I think He and Hillary would be the very worst thing for this country if elected, but threats as those shown above should not be tolerated.)
