Adopting Measures to Criminalize Criticism of Islam

Adopting Measures to Criminalize Criticism of Islam A/C.3/68/L.48 Combating intolerance, negative stereotyping,stigmatization, discrimination, incitement to violence and violence against persons, based on religion or belief continues by calling all states to take actions based on remarks by OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu addressed to the HRC before their vote on one of the previous resolutions. Eight points were outlined in the speech, and included in the current draft.
(f) Adopting measures to criminalize incitement to imminent violence based
on religion or belief;

adopting measures to criminalize

    The draft resolution echoes Ishanoglu's demand that UN member states enact and enforce laws making negative comments about Islam a criminal offense. When used by the UN, "incitement to imminent violence" does not refer to the rabble rousing rants that incite riots, it refers to every exposure of the damnable doctrines and practices of Islam

    Ban Ki moon's condemnation of Fitna  is exemplary.
Reuters quotes U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about Fitna:"There is no justification for or hate speech incitement to violence," Ban said in a statement. "The right of free expression is not at stake here."

The Secretary General of the UN  labeled Fitna "hate speech" and "incitement".  In reality, the video exposes Islamic hate and incitement. Hatred and incitement flow from the Qur'an, hadith, Shari'ah and the tongues of rabble rousing Imams, not from the video produced by Geert Wilders.

  • 2:191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. [Abdullah Yusuf Ali]
  • 3:139-141 So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers. If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that God may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And God loveth not those that do wrong.  And that Allah may test (or purify) the believers (from sins) and destroy the disbelievers. [Hilali &Khan]
  • 4:91 Ye will find others who seek to gain your confidence as well as that of their own people: So oft as they return to sedition, they shall be overthrown in it: But if they leave you not, nor propose terms or peace to you nor withhold their hands, then seize them, and slay them, wherever ye find them. Over these have we given you undoubted power.[Rodwell]
  • 8:39  And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.[Hilali & Khan]
  • 9:29  Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God, or in the last day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who profess not the profession of the truth, until they pay tribute out of hand, and they be humbled.[Rodwell]
  • 47:4 When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the fetters. And afterwards let there either be free dismissals or ransomings, till the war hath laid down its burdens. Thus do. Were such the pleasure of God, he could himself take vengeance upon them: but He would rather prove the one of you by the other. And whoso fight for the cause of God, their works he will not suffer to miscarry;[Rodwell]

Riyad us-Salaheen, Book 11, Ch. 234 cites  many ahadith in proving the obligation of Jihad. It does not mention the above cited ayat, but does cite several others.  Reliance of the Traveler specifically offers 9:29 as justification for declaring war on Jews and Christians.

The Reliance of the Traveller. BOOK O: JUSTICE >> Chapter O-9.0: Jihad

O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad
The caliph (o-25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o-11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29)

Note the use of fitna in 8:39 as casus belli. It is also mentioned in 5:33 Muslims love to cite 5:32, but never quote its successor to Kuffar. Why is that?

5:32  Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allah by committing the major sins) in the land!
5:33 The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.

Ibn Kathir's tafsir of  5:33 has a blood curdling implication. Note the emphasized phrases.

`Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways. Mischief in the land refers to various types of evil.

Mere disbelief in Allah is sufficient to subject you to the hudud listed in the ayeh above cited! Now you rightly understand that Geert Wilders is not exaggerating in his video presentation.

    Without exception, the hate speech and incitement displayed in Fitna flow from Islam's canonical texts and the mouths of rabble rousing Imams, not from Geert Wilders.  The Secretary General does not condemn Allah, his Book, his Messenger or his rabble rousing preachers, he condemns the video which exposes them.

    Fitna is neither hate speech nor incitement, it is objective and factual; an exposure of the damnable doctrines of Islam and accursed practices which flow from belief in  them.  The draft resolution is an attempt to erect a legal shield to protect the world's worst evil from exposure.

Combating Religious Hatred and Vilification

I had seen reports that the draft resolution on Combating Defamation of Religions had been edited to substitute vilification for defamation but I had not seen substantive details prior to last night.  One of my Google Alerts linked to an article which included a link to the amended resolution.

   What is the big deal?  The State Department asserts that the USA rejects resolution on the basis of the concept of defamation of religions.  I presume that the edit is an attempt to throw a lifeline to Obamination.  Recall that while Obamination rejects defamation, he accepts negative stereotyping, which was substituted for defamation in the Freedom of Opinion and Expression resolution.  The OIC is tinkering with the semantics in hopes of sinning over some of the nay sayers and obstainers to their side.

    None of the resolutions define the crucial terms, so I checked the on line dictionaries. A Google search turned up fifteen definitions of defamation.

  • Seven definitions specify that the victim  is a person.
  • Four definition specify that the statement must be false.
  • Six definitions list slander as an element.
  • Five definitions list libel as an element.
  • Two definitions list calumny as an element.
  • One of the definitions lists vilification as an element.
  • Three of the definitions list malicious as an element.

    Next, I looked up vilification, receiving four results.

  • Two definitions listed defamation as an element.
  • One definition listed calumny as an element.
  • One definition listed slander and libel as elements.

    Next, I looked up negative stereotyping , striking out. Removing the adjective resulted in fifteen definitions.  These are the best of the lot.

  • A stereotype is a commonly held public belief about specific social groups, or types of individuals. The concepts of "stereotype" and "prejudice" are often confused with many other different meanings. ...
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereotyping
  • stereotype - pigeonhole: treat or classify according to a mental stereotype; "I was stereotyped as a lazy Southern European"
  • stereotype - a conventional or formulaic conception or image; "regional stereotypes have been part of America since its founding"
    wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

    To determine the meaning of those terms, as used in the resolutions, we must examine their context.

  • Stressing that defamation of religions is a serious affront to human dignity leading to the illicit restriction of the freedom of religion of their adherents and incitement to religious hatred and violence,

Who is defamed?  Is Islam a human person?  How does illustrating the cause--effect relationship of Islam to terrorism affront human dignity?  If Muslims find their dignity affronted by exposure of the truth about Islam, they can restore their dignity by converting to a pacifist religion.

    How does defamation lead to illicit restriction of freedom of religion?  The reference is obviously to the Swiss minaret ban and the French Burqa ban.  What do minarets have to do with freedom of religion?  In ancient times, they were watch towers. Muslims adopted them for the call to prayer. They also serve as a powerful symbol of Islamic supremacy.  But they are not mentioned in the Qur'an or hadith as religious requirements.

    Visit Open Burhan to verify the literal translation and compare the other translations of 33:59. You can check the entry in an Arab/English dictionary to verify it.

  • You, you the prophet, say to your wives and your daughters and the believers' women they (F) near (lengthen) on them from their shirts/gowns/wide dresses, that (is) nearer that (E) they (F) be known (better than being identified), so they (F) do not be harmed mildly/harmed, and God was/is forgiving, merciful.

If you want to know the real deal, read Sahih Bukhari 1.4.148. Its about Umar hassling Sauda, one of Moe's wives when she went out to answer a call of nature.

  • 14. Reaffirms the obligation of all States to enact the legislation necessary to prohibit the advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, [Emphasis added.]

    That paragraph contains two key phrases which, when compared to certain relevant public statements, give us the final clue.

The Secretary-General is concerned over the controversy that has been created by the publication of the Danish cartoons.  He believes that the freedom of the press should always be exercised in a way that fully respects the religious beliefs and tenets of all religions.
http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2006/sgsm10334.doc.htm

In plain language, Kofi Annan would have prevented the publication of the cartoons if it was in his power. That is the power they are seeking.

Reuters quotes U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about Fitna:

“There is no justification for hate speech or incitement to violence,” Ban said in a statement. “The right of free expression is not at stake here.”

    The Secretarys General told us that the Danish Cartoons did not respect Islamic religious beliefs and that Geert Wilders' documentary constituted hate speech and incitement to violence.

The cartoon of greatest concern depicts Moe with a bomb in his turban, implying that he was a terrorist.  Moe never had a bomb because he died prior to the invention of gunpowder. But he was a terrorist, by his own admission:

  • Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey. [Sahih Bukhari 1.7.331, Emphasis added.]
  • I have been made victorious with terror [ Sahih Bukhari 4.52.220, Emphasis added.]

The hate speech and incitement in Fitna come from the Qur'an and clerics, not from Geert Wilders.

    Lets get down to the real issue of defamation, negative stereotyping. ¶ 24 contains a 28 item enumerated list. The seventh item is of interest.

  • 7. Expresses deep concern, in this respect, that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism;

Fitna and the Motoons display that association; what is wrong with it?  Re-examine the quotes from Bukhari's collection of authentic sayings. Moe said that he won by terrifying his victims.  The Qur'an is not silent about this issue.

  • 3:151. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).

We shall terrorize the disbelievers. Click the link and read the context, it is one of aggressive conquest.

  • 8:12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."

What did Allah say he would do?  What did he order the angels to do? After reading this appetizer from Tafsir Ibn Kathir, click the link and read the entire passage.

  • Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said, "In the aftermath of Badr, the people used to recognize whomever the angels killed from those whom they killed, by the wounds over their necks, fingers and toes, because those parts had a mark as if they were branded by fire.''
  • 8:57. So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.

Compare the last clause in 8:57 to the last clause in 59:2.  The objective is to build a reputation for brutality; you will see the application in 59:13.

  • [8:60]
    Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

Build the biggest army you can to strike terror.  What is the "cause of God"? [hint]  Now we get down to the practical application of those verses.

  • 33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.

    33:27. And He caused you to inherit their lands, and their houses, and their riches, and a land which you had not trodden (before). And Allâh is Able to do all things.

What did Allah say he would do?  What did he do?  What resulted?  Moe and his army killed the men of one tribe and enslaved their widows and orphans. But, of course, Islam has no connection to terror and human rights violations. Its the religion of peace.

  • 59:2. He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Banî An-Nadîr) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allâh! But Allâh's (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).

What did Allah do to the Bani An-Nadir?  What is the meaning of the admonition?  Can you relate that to the lesson of 8:57?

  • 59:13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Banî An-Nadîr) breasts than Allâh. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allâh).

The Jews fear Muslims more than they fear Allah. Why is that?  Can you make the connections with 8:57 & 59:2?  How did Allah cast terror into their hearts?

    Those Muslims are supremely arrogant; they assume that we are ignorant, gullible fools who will believe anything if it is repeated with sufficient frequency. "Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism".  Islam's scripture and tradition inform us that the statement from ¶ 24.7 is an accursed lie. They want to base international law on that lie, criminalizing  revelation of the fact that it is a lie!

    The true source of Islamic blasphemy law is Reliance of the Traveller.  Observe the penalty for apostasy.

  • o8.1

    When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.

    o8.2

    In such a case, it is obligatory for the caliph (A: or his representive) to ask him to repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is accepted from him, but if he refuses, he is immediately killed.

Apostates are killed. What acts warrant their death?  Reliance lists twenty, these are particularly relevant.

  • o8.7: Acts that Entail Leaving Islam

    (O: Among the things that entail apostasy from Islam (may Allah protect us from them) are:

  • -4- to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace);

    -5- to deny the existence of Allah, His beginingless eternality, His endless eternality, or to deny any of His attributes which the consensus of Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: v1);

    -6- to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His command, His interdiction, His promise, or His threat;

    -7- to deny any verse of the Koran or anything which by scholarly consensus (def: b7) belongs to it, or to add a verse that does belong to it;

    -16- to revile the religion of Islam;

    -17- to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah;

    -18- to deny the existence of angels or jinn (def: w22), or the heavens;

    -19- to be sarcastic about any ruling of the Sacred Law;

    -20- or to deny that Allah intended the Prophet's message (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the religion followed by the entire world (dis: w4.3-4) (al-Hadiyya al-`Ala'iyya (y4), 423-24). )

    How do those rules apply to us as disbelievers?  When disbelievers are conquered and subjugated as dhimmis under Islamic supremacy, they are obligated by a treaty of protection. That treaty is violated if they perform certain acts listed in Reliance. Guess what the penalty is.

  • o11.10

    The agreement is also violated (A: with respect to the offender alone) if the state has stipulated that any of the following things break it, and one of the subjects does so anyway, though if the state has not stipulated that these break the agreement, then they do not; namely, if one of the subject people:

    -5- or mentions something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.

  • o11.11

    When a subject's agreement with the state has been violated, the caliph chooses between the four alternatives mentioned above in connection with prisoners of war (o9.14).

  • o9.14

    When an adult male is taken captive, the caliph (def: o25) considers the interests (O: of Islam and the Muslims) and decides between the prisoner's death, slavery, release without paying anything, or ransoming himself in exchange for money or for a Muslim captive held by the enemy.

    When the resolution is voted out of the third committee and passed in the General Assembly, it will not have the force of law, but it will add unwarranted legitimacy to existing blasphemy laws which are used to persecute religious minorities in several Islamic nations.

    Unfortunately, that is not the real threat to our liberty. This is:  Ad Hoc Committee on the elaboration of complementary standards.  The cmte. will meet at the end of November for a week and a few days. Its purpose is to insert the resolution into ICERD through a binding protocol, giving it the force of  international law.  Last year, the cmte. bogged down in procedural matters. We have no way of knowing when it will finish its work, but when it does, we will be outvoted and the protocol will become law.

    Several blog posts about the ad hoc cmte. have been compiled.

    The resolution will be voted on in the cmte., the vote is expected to happen Monday or Tuesday.  The General Assembly vote should happen in December. Several human rights organizations are lobbying against it, but with little hope of success.   Besides signing the petition posted by Open Doors, there is not much we can do about it.

    Our best tactic is a counter attack: to raise the political cost of censoring us above Islam's threshold of pain.  As I showed you their egregious lie and proved it above, you can share that information with others.  Copy and cross post this blog post. Paste it into emails. Tell everyone who will listen about the injustice being perpetrated by the OIC.

    Three international human rights covenants contain provisions which would, if enforced, require that Islam be proscribed by law.  The purpose of the International Qur'an Petition is to bring the vital facts to the attention of the public and the World Court. Please sign it and spread it. Cross post it on your blog or web site. Send it by email to  everyone you can hope to influence.

International Burn a Qur'an Day: Fan the Embers!

The pr campaign initiated by Pastor Terry Jones, though it ended in a fizzle, afforded us an opportunity to expose the  evil contents of that abominable book. In Washington D.C., at the White House,  two courageous men revealed the contents and crumpled pages from a translation.  In New York, near the site of the proposed Ground Zero mosque, one brave man burned pages torn from a translation.

    Islam  has nothing to kvetch about because:

  1. Pastor Jones abandoned the burning ceremony.
  2. The crumpled Qur'an was a translation, not Arabic.
  3. The burned Qur'an was a translation, not Arabic.
Muslims do not consider translations to be sacred.  The Qur'an's magic is in the sound; it is meant to be memorized and recited, not read.

    Yet Muslims are bitching like a nervous little dog tied up outside, cold, hungry & lonely:   barking incessantly. Their barking is both a threat to our liberty and an opportunity to expose Islam's damnable doctrines.  We must repulse the threat and exploit the opportunity.

threat:

    On September 22, 2010, Pakistan's delegate to the United Nations Human Rights Council submitted a draft resolution condemning International Burn a Qur'an Day.  The draft is a single page packed with feces, some old and stale, some fresh and pungent. [Emphasis added to quotes for clarity.]

stale feces

    The preamble contains  abusive  perversion  by reference to the U.N. Charter,  the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ICERD & ICCPR.  It continues with a disingenuous call for one sided inter-cultural  dialogue.  It extends its spew of feces by  conflating criticism of Islam with racism by reference to the United Nations Millennium Declaration.  It aggravates the offense by conflating criticism with physical violence.

  •     Reaffirming the pledge made by all States under the Charter of the United Nations to
    promote and encourage universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental
    freedoms for all, without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion,
    Human rights belong to individual humans, not to groups, associations or institutions.  There is no right to be shielded by coercive force from all questioning and criticism.
  • Reaffirming also that all human rights are universal, indivisible, interdependent and  interrelated,
    This is exemplary kitman, the Islamic art & science of deception by obfuscation.  They are equating a non-existent & unstated right to be  shielded from criticism with our right of free expression.  The reaffirmation is boiler plate taken from previous Defamation of Religions resolutions.  The implicit false premise: "our right to be shielded from criticism  negates your right of free expression; you can't say anything about our demon, profit, doctrines or practices".
  • Reaffirming further that discrimination between human beings on the grounds of
     religion or belief constitutes an affront to human dignity and a disavowal of the principles of
    the Charter of the United Nations, and shall be condemned as a violation of the human rights
    and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and
    enunciated in detail in the International Covenants on Human Rights, and as an obstacle to
    friendly and peaceful relations between nations,
    Pastor Jones proposed to burn an unholy book.  That is not an act of discrimination, it is a condemnation of a set of evil doctrines & practices. Condemning & incineration of the demon's manifesto of predation is not discrimination, nor does it pose an obstacle to peaceful international relations.  All of the threats and violence came from the other side, who burned flags & Bibles, destroyed property and killed people in their riots;  none came from the Dove World Outreach Center.
  • Welcoming also the resolve expressed in the United Nations Millennium Declaration,
     adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 55/2 on 8 September 2000, to take
    measures to eliminate the increasing acts of racism and xenophobia in many societies and to
    promote greater harmony and tolerance in all societies, and looking forward to its effective implementation at all levels, [Emphasis added.]
    The preliminary document for the recent Durban Conference contains  the key to the emphasized expression. Pay close attention to this, which constitutes a demonic distortion of the English language. I added the bold red font to make the evil  clause stand out.

4.  Emphasizes the urgent need to address the scourges of anti-Semitism, Christianophobia, and Islamophobia as contemporary forms of racism as well as racial and violent movements based on racism and discriminatory ideas directed at African, Arab, Christian, Jewish, Muslim and other communities;

The U.N. has equated opposition to Islam with racism.  Islam is not a race. Arab is a race; Islam, invented by an Arab,  enslaves Arabs, Africans, Asians & Europeans.  If we condemn Islam's sanctification  of mandatory genocidal conquest through terrorism, we are automatically branded as racist.   The intent is to silence us; to shut down debate arbitrarily.

fresh feces

    The novel crap is contained in a five point enumerated list of action items.

    Noting with deep concern the instances of intolerance, discrimination, profiling and
acts of violence against Muslims occurring in many parts of the world,

  1. Condemns in this regard the recent call by an extremist group to organize a ‘Burn a Koran Day’;
  2. Condemns also any advocacy of religious hatred that constitutes incitement to I hatred, discrimination, hostility or violence
  3. Calls upon the international community to stand united against such events which undermine peaceful coexistence between nations and create an environment  conducive to violence; reprisal
  4. Calls upon also all States to condemn and oppose, in accordance with their obligations, under international human rights law, any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to hatred, discrimination, hostility  and violence;
  5. Urges the international community to support all international and regional initiatives to promote cross-cultural and interfaith harmony.

extremist group

    Extremist connotes violent tendencies.  In common parlance, the Muslims who slaughter innocents in the name of Allah are labeled "extremists".  Who has Pastor Jones and his Dove World Outreach Center threatened?  Who have they assaulted?  Who have they killed?  They condemned and expressed an intention to burn the book which inspires & motivates terrorists.  What is extreme about that?

    This term of opprobrium, delivered in the absence of definition and evidence, constitutes  libel and slander.  Pakistan's delegate ought to be sued for libel and so should the UNHRC  when it passes that resolution.

incitement

    Exactly what did Pastor Jones say that incited anyone to hate Muslims?  Exactly what did he say that incited anyone to assault Muslims?  Precisely who acted on that incitement?  Did he brandish a sword and shout "Crusade, Crusade, Crusade! ?

undermine peaceful coexistence

    Did Pastor Jones call for war?  Did his congregation march upon  Pakistan's embassy hurling snones and firebombs?  Who  rioted?  Who incited them to riot?  Did they listen to the Pastor's sermon or their Imam's Kutbah at Juma Salat?

condemn and oppose

    President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton & General Petraeus  condemned and opposed  International Burn a Qur'an Day. They met their obligations. What more  do you demand?  Note the repetition of boiler plate from an earlier point.  What is its source?

ICCPR

Article 20

  1. Any propaganda for war shall be prohibited by law.
  2. Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.
The United Nations
INTERNATIONAL COVENANT ON
CIVIL AND POLITICAL RIGHTS

That just happens to be an international human rights covenant, legally binding on and enforceable against signatories.

opportunity

    The enemy has pointed out our best weapon against it!  We have an opportunity to pick up and deploy that weapon.

demand enforcement of Art. 20!

  1.  Any propaganda for war shall be prohibited by law.
What institution violates that provision in its immutable constitution?  I have a clue for you: Pastor Jones proposed to burn it.

2:216. Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know.

8:39
. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.

9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

9:38. O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allâh (i.e. Jihâd) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter.

9:39. If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people, and you cannot harm Him at all, and Allâh is Able to do all things.

9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2

61:10. O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment.

61:11.  That you believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!

61:12. (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of 'Adn Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.

    If that ain't propaganda for war, what the Hell is?      ICCPR 20.1 requires that it be proscribed by law.  Who will enforce 20.1?

  1. Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.
1:6. Guide us to the Straight Way

1:7. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

2:161. Verily, those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers, it is they on whom is the Curse of Allâh and of the angels and of mankind, combined.

98:6. Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islâm, the Qur'ân and Prophet Muhammad ()) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikûn will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

98:7. Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allâh, and in His Messenger Muhammad ()) including all obligations ordered by Islâm] and do righteous good deeds, they are the best of creatures.

Reliance of the Traveller, o.11.5 lists discriminations against non-Muslim subjects.
-2- are distinguished from Muslims in dress, wearing a wide cloth belt (zunnar);
-3- are not greeted with "as-Salamu 'alaykum";
-4- must keep to the side of the street;
-5- may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims' buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed;
-6- are forbidden to openly display wine or pork, (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays;
-7- and are forbidden to build new churches.

    If the cited ayat ain't incitement to & the cited Shari'an ain't discrimination against Jews & Christians,  what the Hell is?  ICCPR  20.2 requires that it be proscribed by law.l  Who will enforce 20.2?

    It is expected that the draft resolution condemning International  Burn a Qur'an Day will be debated and voted on this week.  It is certain that it will pass because the OIC and its allies have a majority of seats in the HRC.   This gives us a brief moment of opportunity. Let us seize it!!

International Qur'an Petition

    The petition linked immediately above cites the relevant provisions of ICCPR, ICERD & CPPCG and the Islamic doctrines which violate them.  It prays to the World Court for enforcement of those provisions which require civilized signatories to outlaw Islam.

    The link is to an html formatted copy which contains links to source texts. At the end of the text, it contains a signature link. I  urge you to  copy the petition, paste it into an email and send it to everyone you can hope to influence with an exhortation to sign and forward it.  Signing and promoting this petition is the best hope we have of prevailing over an existential foe which seeks to silence our protest against its intention to enslave us.

     U.N. resolutions are not binding, they lack the force of law.  ICERD can be enforced. At the end of November, the Ad Hoc Committee for the Elaboration of Complementary Standards will meet to write the resolutions into ICERD.  You can kiss the First Amendment goodbye, because it will be passed, signed and ratified.

    Our only hope of retaining our liberty  rests in raising the cost of this attack above the price Islam is willing to pay.  We must link full exposure of the Qur'an's evil contents to their attack against our free expression right.  We must do it now, while it is still legally possible.

    Act now if you love liberty and want to preserve it for yourself and your progeny.  Sign and propagate the International Qur'an Petition. Copy and cross post this blog post.  Seize the opportunity, it may be our last.

Why the Defamation of Religions Resolution is Unacceptable

Two paragraphs of the latest HRC Defamation of Religions resolution contain expressions which clearly demonstrate the reality that makes such resolutions unacceptable.
7. Expresses deep concern in this respect that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism and, in this regard, regrets the laws or administrative measures specifically designed to control and monitor Muslim minorities, thereby stigmatizing them and legitimizing the discrimination they experience,

9. Reaffirms the commitment of all States to the implementation, in an integrated manner, of the United Nations Global Counter-terrorism Strategy, adopted without a vote by the General Assembly in its resolution 60/288 of 8 September 2006 and reaffirmed by the Assembly in its resolution 62/272 of 5 September 2008, and in which it clearly reaffirms, inter alia, that terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or group, as well as the need to reinforce the commitment of the international community to promote, among other things, a culture of peace and respect for all religions, belief`s, and cultures and to prevent the defamation of religions;
Lets get the critical clauses separated from the chaff for examination.
  • Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism
  • terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or group
    • need to... reinforce the commitment... to promote... respect for all religions...
Is the association of Islam with terrorism intrinsically wrong? Islam's canon of scripture & tradition contain relevant evidence which answers that question in the negative.
[3:151]
Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with God, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!

[8:12]
Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

[8:57]
If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember.

[8:60]
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

[33:26]
And those of the People of the Book who aided them - God did take them down from their strongholds and cast terror into their hearts. (So that) some ye slew, and some ye made prisoners.

[59:2]
It is He Who got out the Unbelievers among the People of the Book from their homes at the first gathering (of the forces). Little did ye think that they would get out: And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from God! But the (Wrath of) God came to them from quarters from which they little expected (it), and cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their dwellings by their own hands and the hands of the Believers, take warning, then, O ye with eyes (to see)!

[59:13]
Of a truth ye are stronger (than they) because of the terror in their hearts, (sent) by God. This is because they are men devoid of understanding.

Bukhari Volume 1, Book 7, Number 331:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
The Prophet said, "I have been given five things which were not given to any one else before me.
1. Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey.
...

Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), ...
Allah said that he would cast terror into the hearts of disbelievers. Allah told the Muslims to make an example of those they defeated. Read 8:57 in the light of the last sentence of 59:2.

Allah commanded Muslims to build and maintain military strength with which to terrorize their intended victims. Then he did cast terror, exemplified in 33:26 and 59:2. Allah told the Muslims that they were stronger than their victims because the victims were afraid of them.

Muhammad bragged about being made victorious by terror. In view of these facts found in Islam's canon, the association of terrorism with Islam is found valid.

General S.K. Malik in The Qur'anic Concept of War, makes the issue crystal clear. His discussion of terror as a strategic concept spans pages 54-60, beginning on page 48 of the pdf file. This quote comes from page 59.
Terror struck into the hearts of the enemies is not only a means, it is the end in itself. Once a condition of terror into the opponents heart is obtained, hardly anything is left to be achieved. It is the point where the means and the end meet and merge. Terror is not a means of imposing decision upon the enemy; it is me decision we wish to impose upon him.
The fact that such terror is discussed as strategy in a Pakistani military training manual puts the lie to Pakistan's assertion that Islam & terrorism are not linked. It becomes obvious that the OIC, on behalf of Islam, has set out to render us defenseless before Islam's onslaught of terror.

Disproving the popular lies about Islam; that it is peaceful, compatible with liberty & democracy, by reference to Islam's canon of scripture, tradition, exegeses & jurisprudence does not constitute hate speech or incitement to violence. Using loaded terms such as racism, negative stereotyping, intolerance & defamation throws up a smoke screen Labeling us as bigots and hate mongers who incite violence is a thinly veiled attempt to shut down debate and shield Islam from criticism and exposure.

Islam seeks to impose its blasphemy law upon us, to cast us into prison and fine us for telling the truth about their war cult. Geert Wilders in on trial for exposing Islam in his short documentary, Fitna. In that documentary, and a speech to the Dutch Parliament, Wilders quoted the Qur'an. I documented his quotes in another blog post. See Fitna: Supporting Documentation and Moral Standing: the Complaint.

Islamic law imposes a complete prohibition on criticism of Allah, Muhammad and their system of perpetuating warfare. These quotes from Reliance of the Traveller should make it clear to you. These are items in a list of acts which entail apostasy, penalized by death. The list begins at O8.7.

-2- to intend to commit unbelief, even if in the future. And like this intention is hesitating whether to do so or not: one thereby immediately commits unbelief;

-3- to speak words that imply unbelief such as ``Allah is the third of three,'' or ``I am Allah''-unless one's tongue has run away with one, or one is quoting another, or is one of the friends of Allah Most High (wali, def: w33) in a spiritually intoxicated state of total oblivion (A: friend of Allah or not, someone totally oblivious is as if insane, and is not held legally responsible (dis: k13.1(O:) ) ), for these latter do not entail unbelief;

-4- to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace);

-5- to deny the existence of Allah, His beginingless eternality, His endless eternality, or to deny any of His attributes which the consensus of Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: v1);

-6- to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His command, His interdiction, His promise, or His threat;

-7- to deny any verse of the Koran or anything which by scholarly consensus (def: b7) belongs to it, or to add a verse that does belong to it;

-8- to mockingly say, ``I don't know what faith is'';

-14- to deny the obligatory character of something which by the consensus of Muslims (ijma`, def: B7) is part of Islam, when it is well known as such, like the prayer (salat) or even one rak'a from one of the five obligatory prayers, if there is no excuse (def: u2.4);

-15- to hold that any of Allah's messengers or prophets are liars, or to deny their being sent;

(n: `Ala' al-din' Abidin adds the following:

-16- to revile the religion of Islam;

-17- to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah;

-18- to deny the existence of angels or jinn (def: w22), or the heavens;

-19- to be sarcastic about any ruling of the Sacred Law;

-20- or to deny that Allah intended the Prophet's message (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the religion followed by the entire world (dis: w4.3-4) (al-Hadiyya al-`Ala'iyya (y4), 423-24). )

There are others, for the subject is nearly limitless. May Allah Most High save us and all Muslims from it.)

Another list, beginning at O11.10 , includes acts which break the treaty of protection, subjecting the dhimmi to the death penalty. These items should be a clue for you.

-3- leads a Muslim away from Islam;

-4- kills a Muslim;

-5- or mentions something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.

The previous list should be sufficient to indicate what a dhimmi can't say about Islam. When they speak and write about "negative stereotyping" & "defamation", that is what they have in mind.

Our enemies outnumber us in the UN. We can not win the crucial votes. We must counter attack, using their own weapon against them. ICERD, ICCPR & CPPCG contain provisions which would, if enforced, require that Islam be proscribed by law. The International Qur'an Petition points out those critical provisions and shows how they are violated by fundamental Islamic doctrines. I want you to read and sign that petition and send it to everyone you can hope to influence. Exhort your friends, family and associates to sign and forward it. We need to make it go viral.

Islam is not worthy of respect; it denies the sanctity of our lives and property; declares war upon us, and curses us. Why then should we accept demands for promoting respect and tolerance of Islam?

How to Find UN Documents

This blog post results from the discovery of the following search through Google.ca: A/64/439/Add.2 (Part II), proj. de rés. XV someone at the Canada Council for the Arts inquired about a United Nations document. The link to the Crusaders Armory blogspot was near the bottom of the first page of results. It is safe to assume that the searcher went through several other results before visiting my blog.

Many, if not most UN documents contain references to other UN documents. Tracking down those references can be extremely difficult unless you have the right search engine. Most of the search engine results will be to documents which reference the one you seek, few if any of them will provide a link to the desired document.

United Nations Publications has several interesting categories to check and a search window at the top of the page. That search produced irrelevant results. It did, however, display a link to another General Assembly Document Search. which produced a report declaring that there is no matching document.
Image of the General Assembly Document Search

By removing the suffix from the search term, I got this result, a 151 page pdf. file; a report on the Third Committee's Human Rights Protection & Promotion efforts.

If you can not find the document you need with that search engine, and it is directly related to human rights, there is another search engine you can tap. It is not my first choice because its output is in the form of a multi page table of descriptions and links. If you have the document symbol, try using it first to narrow the search results.
Human Rights Document Search Engine image

I recently discovered this resource: United Nations Dag Hammarskjöld Library which offers a wide variety of search categories but requires omission of all punctuation from the search phrase. I was not able to find the Third Cmte. report there. By back checking the link to the main library, I discovered a new resource: UN Pulse, which alerts users to newly released documents. This may prove to be an extremely valuable resource for those who are interested in specific issues before UN bodies.

Someone jumped the gun with the link to UN Pulse. The page is blank; there is nothing within the body tags. I will check it periodically and issue a new post about it after it goes live.

Combating Defamation of Religions: the Substance

The final text of the Combating Defamation of Religions resolution (passed 12/18/'09) spans pages 67-72 of a 151 page pdf file: A/64/439/Add.2, part II. If you want to read it aloud, you'd better take breath control lessons, because the resolution is basically one long run on sentence. It begins by recalling and reaffirming previous resolutions and documents. The trip down the memory lane sewer is followed by a series of statements of alarm and concern.
Expressing serious concern at the increase in racist violence...
Are they seriously concerned about the recent burning and looting of Christian churches, homes and businesses in Egypt & Pakistan? Of course not, that is not what concerns them.
as a result, inter alia, of the resurgence of activities of political parties and associations established on the basis of racist, xenophobic and ideological superiority platforms and charters, and the persistent use of those platforms and charters to promote or incite racist ideologies,
No, their concern is about the Dutch Freedom Party and similar parties in Europe which express concern about Islamic encroachment & demographic conquest. But they are deeply concerned about:
the negative projection of certain religions in the media
Next they progress to stressing:
the defamation of religions is a serious affront to human dignity leading to the illicit restriction of the freedom of religion of their adherents and incitement to religious hatred and violence,
Do they refer to these examples?
  • 1:7. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).
  • 8:55. Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allâh are those who disbelieve , - so they shall not believe.
  • 9:30. And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allâh. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allâh's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
  • 9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2).
Islamic scripture calumniates Jews, Christians and disbelievers in general, then it declares war and incites violence against them. Where is the U.N.'s concern about that prime exemplar of evil? See what else they are stressing.
the need to effectively combat defamation of all religions, and incitement to religious hatred in general,

Reaffirming that discrimination on the grounds of religion or belief constitutes a violation of human rights and a disavowal of the principles of the Charter,
What is defamation of religions; what constitutes incitement to hatred? Who decides? I direct your attention to Ban Ki-moon's egregious condemnation of the short documentary by Geert Wilders.

Reuters quotes U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about Fitna:

“There is no justification for hate speech or incitement to violence,” Ban said in a statement. “The right of free expression is not at stake here.”

The man chiefly responsible for enforcing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights asserts that there is no right to tell the truth about Islam. [Emphasis added for clarity.] Fitna is not hate speech nor is it incitement; it accurately depicts Islamic hate speech and incitement.

Demonstrating the intimate connection (cause & effect) between Islam's scripture and violence evidently constitutes hate speech and violence. Take a good long look at the incidents the OIC complains about in their Islamophobia report. Here is what it all boils down to.
Expresses deep concern in this respect that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism;
Human rights violations? Such as the right to life? How about the right to be secure in their person and property? How are our rights affected by the declaration of war previously cited (9:29)? How are our rights affected by Muhammad's complete denial of them, as well as the sanctity of our blood & property?

Is Islam wrongly associated with terrorism? Who created that association? What did Allah say about terrorism?
  • 3:151. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).
  • 8:12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."
  • 8:57. So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.
  • 33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.
  • 59:13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Banî An-Nadîr) breasts than Allâh. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allâh).
Allah said that he would cast terror, Muslims must cast terror, and they did cast terror. What did Muhammad say?
Allah said he would cast terror, Moe said he was made victorious by it. There is nothing wrong with the association of Islam with terrorism! Lets look at the specific application of the wrongly associated meme.
Reiterates the commitment of all States to the implementation, in an integrated manner, of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which was adopted without a vote by the General Assembly on 8 September 200614 and reaffirmed by the Assembly in its resolution 62/272 of 5 September 2008, and which clearly confirms, inter alia, that terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization or ethnic group, stressing the need to reinforce the international community’s commitment to promote a culture of peace, justice and human development, ethnic, national and religious tolerance, and respect for all religions, religious values, beliefs or cultures and prevent the defamation of
religions;

Any association of Islam with terrorism is defamatory by default. So I have defamed Islam by quoting from its own canon of scripture and tradition. Yeah, right. What is the bottom line?
Reaffirms the obligation of all States to enact the necessary legislation to prohibit the advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, and encourages States, in their follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance,7 to include aspects relating to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities in their national plans of action and, in this context, to take forms of multiple discrimination against minorities fully into account;
Do you remember what Ban said about Fitna ("incitement to violence")? They postulate a national obligation to criminalize documentaries such as Fitna and this blog post.

The Combating Defamation of Religious resolutions are propaganda, not law. But they serve to add a false patina of legitimacy to existing blasphemy laws in Pakistan and other places where they are used to persecute adherents of minority religions. They also create an atmosphere of support for the proposed protocol to ICERD which is slowly progressing in the Ad Hoc Committee for the Elaboration of Complementary Standards. That protocol will become binding international law.

For an extensive bibliography refer to: Defamation of Religions: Background Info. To find U.N. documents referenced in the resolution's foot notes use this search engine.
