Republican vs. Conservative-Another Savage Gem

Most of you know by now, I listen to Savage on the drive home. While the man is most definitely passionate in his beliefs, there is also a significant amount of truth in what he says.

I have been a Republican all my life. I would never consider being a democrat because a democrat is diametrically opposed to my core beliefs. I'm finding the Republican party is becoming as diametrically opposed as well. Savage promotes a foundation of border, culture and language--and I happen to agree. I also like his term--Independent Nationalist. I had thought about Independent Conservative (ICon) to describe myself, but IndNat'l seems to fit me better.

Remember--the biggest danger to the enemy within is a person who can think for themself.

Therefore, keeping the above in mind, I bring you Savage's Republican vs. Conservative:
Republicans vs. Conservatives

The voices of those who call themselves conservative are propagandizing the airwaves. You can hear the Golfer defending high gas prices as a necessary part of the free market, that there shouldn't be an FDA to protect us from salmonella, that illegal aliens are just doing the jobs Americans won't do, and attacking the minimum wage as being anti-job. This is garbage. These people are globalist liberals masquerading as free marketers. They have taken the Golfer's Kool-Aid. And more importantly, while they may be Republicans, they are most definitely not conservatives. I've said time and time again on this program that I'm a conservative, not a Republican. There's a huge difference between the two.

  • Republicans are for AIDS money to Africa. Conservatives are for aid to working American citizens.
  • Republicans are for letting the free market decide that $5 a gallon gas is OK. Conservatives are for compelling foreign oil producers to increase production and reduce prices, by force if necessary.
  • Republicans are for bailing out billionaire money manipulators on Wall Street while you wait in line at the hospital behind an illegal alien. Conservatives are for letting Wall Street hucksters pay for their own mistakes and sending the illegal back to Mexico.
  • Republicans are for letting market forces decide if your food has fecal matter in it. Conservatives are for enforcing basic food safety standards so that Mexican farm workers can't crap in the fields and make you sick.
  • Republicans think bringing in illegal aliens is an amnesty. Conservatives think brining in illegal aliens is a travesty.
  • Republicans want a strong global economy. Conservatives want a country. Republicans think that child porn on the internet is freedom from government. Conservatives know that smut is a poison that must be snuffed out.

America thought Bush was a conservative. He turned out to be just a Republican. And while there are Republicans who are conservatives, too, don't let the "R" after the name fool you. Let the voter – and the listener – beware.

Well worth thinking about, ladies and gentlemen. Are you a party lemming/sheeple or are you an indpendent thinker, capable of observing, researching and making your own decisions and acting upon those decisions?

In the Lionizing of the Lead Liberal, Let Us Not Forget His True Legacy

I'm not the type of person to kick someone when they're down (despite what some in the blogosphere might think). It's eminently more satisfying to fight them when they're kicking and roaring. We all also know I'm thoroughly addicted to graphics in my posts and I chose these two pictures for a reason. A reminder, if you will, of the three brothers in happier times. Oh, I had my choice of "snarky" photos, but this just isn't the time for it.

Such is the case with Senator Kennedy. I don't care for the man or his politics. I don't like the way he's abused his faith. I don't like his stand on many, many things. That being said, I am more than happy to pray for God's grace for the man. He--and his family--have met with more than their fair share of tragedies in the past 40+ years, and they've been forced to live those tragedies in the public eye, something we "common folk" are spared.

This past Saturday, Senator Kennedy suffered seizures and after testing, it was discovered he has a malignant brain tumor. While this is not a tragedy along the same lines of two brothers being assassinated and a nephew killed in a plane crash, it is still a devastating diagnosis to those who receive it.

While the MSM is already on deathwatch for Senator Kennedy, the public and body politic is swooning over all the "good" he's done during his extensive time in the House.

I beg to differ. It is fine to worry about the man. It is fine to offer condolences regarding his condition.

Let us not forget his actual legacy. His actual legacy is anything but good.

My afternoon drive time is shortened daily by listening to Savage. He has compiled a list of Kennedy's actual votes--his TRUE legacy. I'll print Savage's compilation, but it can also be found here and a follow up post written by Beowulf can be found here.

Here is Senator Kennedy's REAL legacy, his REAL record:

The Real Kennedy Record

# Ted Kennedy was a strong supporter of the 1965 Hart-Celler Act--signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson--which dramatically changed US immigration policy. This legislation replaced the Immigration Act of 1924, which favored immigrants from northern and western Europe. Proponents of the 1965 bill argued immigration laws and quotas were discriminatory, and American immigration policy should accept people not on the basis of their nationality.

# Ted Kennedy has been a staunch supporter of gun control initiatives. In 2006 he was one of the 16 senators who voted against the Vitter Amendment, which prohibited the confiscation of legally-possessed firearms during a disaster.

# Ted Kennedy has …opposed additional Alaska oil drilling. However, he opposes the Cape Wind wind turbine project which would occur near his home.

# Kennedy is one of only five senators who have publicly announced support for same-sex marriage.

# He voted against the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

# In 2004, Senator Kennedy cosponsored a bipartisan amendment to strengthen the ability of federal, state and local governments to investigate and prosecute hate crimes.

# Senator Kennedy introduced legislation to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation.

# To help in the fight against AIDS, Senator Kennedy cosponsored an amendment to provide additional funding for prevention and treatment activities in Africa.

# Voted NO on recommending constitutional ban on flag desecration. (Jun 2006)

# Voted NO on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)

# Voted YES on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)

# Voted YES on loosening restrictions on cell phone wiretapping. (Oct 2001)

# Voted YES on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)

# Voted YES on setting aside 10% of highway funds for minorities & women. (Mar 1998)

# Voted YES on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

# Voted NO on Amendment to prohibit flag burning. (Dec 1995)

# Voted NO on banning affirmative action hiring with federal funds. (Jul 1995)

# Voted NO on declaring English the official language of the US government. (Jun 2007)

# Voted YES on allowing illegals to participate in Social Security.(May 2006)
And from Beowulf's article here:
We cannot forget that he opened the borders as early as 1965. We cannot forget that he voted to destroy the flag and destroy traditional marriage. We cannot forget–in spite of his illness--he has voted for late-term abortion, i.e. infanticide. We can’t forget that… His poor health does not excuse him for what he has done to our country.
No, ladies and gentlemen, he is not a hero. He is an ill, old man with a history of undermining this country and its greatness. It is not a tragedy in the normal sense of the word, or even in the sense of the way his family has suffered tragedies. It is a medical diagnosis, albeit a devastating one.

I maintain what I have said in several comment threads regarding this man at this time.
He needs to retire with his dignity and live out his years with his family. His family needs this time to adjust to this latest news and be given the time to do so privately. As a human being, he deserves human compassion as does his family.

I have to question, though--obviously he had no knowledge of this tumor and it has been around for quite some time. How many of his votes and his actions have been influenced by this tumor? How many of his decisions are now suspect because of this tumor? Had he not had the tumor, would he have voted differently, made different decisions? We may never know and we have to accept that. What we DON'T have to accept is the sudden elevation to sainthood of a very flawed human being.

May he take the time he's been given and get his entire being in order. Not everyone gets the blessing of a "wake up call" to make things right. Hopefully, he will take advantage of his wake up call.

A Savage Idea--And It's Worth a Look

On my nightly drive home, I listen to Savage. I don't always agree with him, but sometimes he has an idea worth repeating and getting out there. This is one of those ideas and it deals with the gas pump prices.

It's short, sweet, to the point--and could work. It would break OPEC's monopoly on foreign oil to us and get us off foreign sources of oil, thus leaving our dependence on US oil alone.

As I'm writing this several hours after hearing it this evening, these are MY words and not Savage's. I'm paraphrasing what he said.

1. For each illegal mexican immigrant in the United States right now, Mexico should send us the equivalent number of barrels of oil-per DAY-for free. This would cover the costs inherent to the taxpayer for costs incurred by the illegals on our soil in education, welfare, identity theft, crimes committed and healthcare. If mexico balks at this, send our military to seize the oil and add those costs to the barrels per day owed to us.

This would be anywhere from 11 to 20 million barrels PER DAY.

2. Drill ANWAR and forget about the caribou--the same caribou who were allegedly in danger from the pipeline before and who have, in actuality, thrived due to the warmth in the pipeline. The caribou are not in danger from drilling ANWAR.

3. Flat out take the oil from the Iranians and Iraquis--admittedly I may have heard this one incorrectly--and mark it as for services rendered. Do this until the costs we've incurred in protecting the middle east are paid and the ANWAR fields are producing profitably. We're already being accused of doing so, might as well make it true, right?

Simple--a three point plan, no more dependence on foreign oil, Mexico pays us for their illegal immigrants (Mexico might be spurred into finding ways to keep their citizens home instead of coming here--again my thought, not what Savage said), and the caribou thrive.

Too bad it makes too much sense. If it didn't it might have a chance of going somewhere.

We Realists Are Actually Reactionaries and islam is the Religion of Peace--NOT!

She is 54 years old and the mother of two. She went to Sudan to teach children, to give of herself. She will sit in a Khartoum prison for 15 days because of an "insult to islam". She did manage to escape being flogged.

Her name is Gillian Gibbons. Her crime--the alleged insult? Allowing her class of 7 year olds to name a teddy bear mohammed.

However, riots broke out over this "lenient" sentence, with truckloads of people showing up to storm the cell she was kept, many brandishing machetes and demanding she be either beheaded or shot by firing squad for this "insult".

Read the rest of this travesty in the Daily Mail here and then tell me just how peaceful islam is.

Catch the Wave!

More insanity here on our shores.

Anyone who listens to the Michael Savage show, even intermittently, is aware of the tactics being used by CAIR to intimidate his advertisers because of copyrighted material they took from Savage's site, manipulated to suit their agenda and then began using to try to shut down Savage. Daniel Horowitz was today's guest on Savage.

Mr. Horowitz will be filing legal papers Monday, initiating a lawsuit against CAIR for copyright and freedom of speech infringement. The legal brief can be found here at MichaelSavage.com. As a paralegal, I was very interested in how this brief was written--given the reputation of the attorney--and the beauty of the brief is incredible.

CAIR fronts itself as an advocacy group, yet we all know it's a front for terror. And yet, these advertisers who have pulled their advertising from the Savage show have decided to throw their towels in with this terrorist group and it's ideals and lack of morals, rather than support the American values of free speech.

Who are these advertisers? The following were appearing on CAIR's website front page--until today, when the "meat" of the Savage lawsuit were revealed: Office Max, J.C. Penney, Citrix Systems, Trusted ID and AutoZone. They were removed from CAIR's front page, but I found them listed at The Radio Equalizer here.

Anyone with any doubt regarding CAIR and it's anti-American agenda can go here to Andrew Whitehead's site--Anti-CAIR here--and find it all nicely laid out. Daniel Pipes has an excellent site as well, here.

As far as CAIR's claim they're an advocacy group for "moderate muslims", don't be fooled. Where, after all, are all those "moderate muslim" voices we're not hearing? Particularly in defense of people being treated as less than human by the monsters overseas--as in Gillian Gibbons?

Do yourselves a favor, people--follow the links, educate yourselves in the realities of true islam as laid out here in the "Myth vs. Fact" and "Know Thine Enemy" series, and review posts such as my post entitled "Peaceful" Muslims--NOT to see pictures of so-called peaceful muslims.

Educate yourselves--please.
