Republican Jewish Coalition Excludes Ron Paul From Forum

I learned from an article at the Examiner, that the Republican Jewish Coalition plans to exclude Rep. Ron Paul from their Dec. 7 candidate forum.   They object to his expressed views on foreign policy and national security issues as I do.

While I sympathize with Israel, I take exception to the decision to exclude Paul from the debate because I believe that the voters should be exposed to the entire range of views expressed by the potential nominees.  As a nominal Republican, I am embarrassed by his irrational rants.  As an Islam hating lover of life & liberty, I am outraged by his treachery, but I believe that contradictory speech  is the best antidote to expressed idiocy & treachery.

Fools who cherry pick a single position with which they agree, neglecting critically important issues with political tunnel vision risk foisting another disaster on this nation.  Both those fools and the rest of the GOP primary electorate should be exposed to the full range of ideas from the top level candidates for the nomination.

I am not comfortable with the Jewish Coalition concept, in either party.  Participants in American electoral politics should be American citizens and identify as such.  Dividing ourselves by ethnic origin is the first step toward Balkanization, which is absolutely the wrong way to go; the polar opposite of the American way.  We should coalesce around issues, not identity.

Ron Paul Soldiers Plan Revolt Against John McCain

Cross posted from Wake up America by request from Beth.

You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We'd all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well you know
We'd all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be alright [x3]

Inevitably this Beatles song comes to mind every time Ron Paul's name is mentioned.

Top of the Ticket reports that Ron Paul forces have been quietly, under the radar, been plotting a public revolt against John McCain for the national convention in St. Paul which will be in September.

According to a recent Boston Globe tally, Paul has a grand total of 19 Republican delegates to Romney's 260, Huckabee's 286 and McCain's 1,413.

19 Republican delegates. The bottom line fact, which has not and cannot be disputed is that it is mathematically impossible for Ron Paul to receive enough delegates to win the Republican nomination.

He knows it, his supporters know and every American in the country knows it as does every citizen in any other country that is paying attention to US politics.

That is just the reality of the situation. Two plus two will always equal four and Ron Paul has a devoted fan base that has got him nowhere near the number of delegates needed to win the nomination which is 1,191 delegates.

Those are undeniable facts.

You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We'd all want to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well you know
We're all doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be alright [x4]

So let us move along to something else seen in that article, which is the recent Republican primary results:

Indiana, McCain got 77% of the recent Republican primary vote, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, who've each long ago quit and endorsed McCain, still got 10% and 5% respectively, while Paul took 8%.

On the same May 6 in North Carolina, McCain received less than three-quarters of Republican votes (74%), while Huckabee got 12%, Paul 7% and Alan Keyes and No Preference took a total of 7%.

Pennsylvania was even slightly worse for the GOP's presumptive nominee, who got only 73% to a combined 27% for Paul (16%) and Huckabee (11%).

We turn to CQPolitics (thanks to Hot Air), which shows that those results were touted in Drudge headlines as "27% OF REPUBLICAN VOTERS AGAINST MCCAIN IN NORTH CAROLINA..." and "23% GO AGAINST MCCAIN IN INDIANA...".

Bloggers and the media jumped all over that but CQpolitics actually delved into history and found that those figures are no different than previous years and are actually a pattern.

In the year 2000, after Super Tuesday, George Bush had wrapped up the party nomination and still at all primaries afterward, loyal diehard fans of the other candidates still voted for their favored choice, even if they weren't in the race anymore.

An example:

Colorado: March 10, 2000
Bush: 64.71
McCain: 27.12
Keyes: 6.57
33.69 percent vote against Bush

CQ goes on to show that same consistent pattern for Illinois, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, North Carolina, Nebraska, Arkansas, Idaho, Montana, New Jersey and South Dakota.

So much for the touted headlines.

You say you'll change the constitution
Well you know
We'd all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well you know
You better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know know it's gonna be alright [x3]
Alright [x7]

The indisputable truth here is that many of us had candidates we would have liked to have seen win, for me it was Fred Thompson, but he didn't have the support, the votes, which is all that counts in end. The people that go to voting booths and vote for their candidate.

Money collected doesn't matter, polls do not matter, neither does the endless insisting that Ron Paul was ignored.

Perhaps he was....but the conclusion rational people come to is that his "message" while popular with his own supporters, did not resound with the majority.

The delegate count proves that without a doubt.

Let us put that "media" excuse to bed right now.

Looking at headlines from November 2007, the media was reporting that the "McCain Campaign To Take Out $3M Loan" and what was coverage for Ron Paul?

"The man, the technique behind Paul's haul", a glowing report about how Ron Paul took $4 million in for a one day haul.

Lets go back a little further.

July 2007, headlines for McCain read, "Why McCain Will Drop Out", "John McCain: Dead man walking", and "The McCain Implosion Fallout".

What were Ron Paul's headlines in July of 2007?

"Ron Paul Tops McCain in Cash on Hand", " Ron Paul's Libertarian Message Attracts Supporters".

So much for the media being so much kinder to John McCain when it counted.

Some candidates do not catch fire with the majority of voters. It is that simple.

Eventually Ron Paul supporters are going to have to face that reality, those of us that were supporting other Republican candidates did because we realized that we had no choice.

Then they will be left with one specific question they will have to ask themselves.

Do you think John McCain, or whoever wins the Democratic nomination, be it Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, will better match what you ultimately want?

Then vote accordingly or don't vote at all.

Your choice.

Why Muslims Shouldn't Support Ron Paul

Eterez explains why, on his blog. The article leans away from Capitalism, towards Socialism, and Eterez gets some argument from commentors. The first comment is very instructive!! Mine may make Eterez choke. It's sure to make you snicker.

Ron Paul--Chosen by Kooks, Nuts, Freaks--and now muslims

Listening to Neal Boortz' show today, I caught a quick blurb of the latest group to endorse Ron Paul.

"The Muslim Observer", a Michigan based newspaper endorses Ron Paul.

It's not enough every stoner who can come out of their haze long enough to form a somewhat coherent argument supports him. Or conspiracy truther. Or anti-semitic, white supremacist hate group. Or the fact he's refused to divorce himself from scams such as Liberty dollar (who imprinted his profile on coins, a la Caesar). Nor is it bad enough he wrote such hateful newsletters and now claims he wasn't aware of the contents (even though he was editor and publisher as well as occasional author of the hate articles). Now, he has the muslim population endorsing him.

Now, for "peaceful muslims", that's really not an issue--if they are legal citizens (the vast majority of muslims here), they are certainly entitled to vote as they wish.

However, the endorsement itself is suspect and here's a quote as to why:
To the Muslim community, it is the source of major problems in America - security, jobs, education, healthcare, etc.; and the world peace. The Republican candidate who voted “NO” against War in Iraq, is against the Patriot Act and is in favor of bringing the troops back home - deserves our full support in the Michigan Primary; THAT CANDIDATE IS RON PAUL.
In short, the militant muslims are not at all stupid and see Paul as the cut and run, surrender monkey candidate he is--and see easy pickings for America if by some miracle Paul were to be elected.

Go read the whole propaganda article here as well as SperoNews' take on it here.

Proving Once Again, the Left is Not Only Behind the News, But Short on Facts

On Saturday, December 29, 2007, a brouhaha erupted at Memeorandum regarding Ron Paul being excluded from a scheduled NH GOP debate on January 6, 2008, to be broadcast by FOX News.

Of course, the fever swamps emptied of their slugs, complete with ranting about the "unfairness" and "bias" of FOX News, Paul made several accusations and even went so far as to say Fox was afraid of him and the Paultards came out in force to defend their loony dictator wanna-be, based upon his money raising capabilities.

However, the more responsible bloggers, such as Spree at Wake Up America and Little Baby Ginn at Death by 1000 Papercuts, were urging caution in judgment until more facts could be brought to light, in particular the referenced to but unsourced "AP Source".

As well they should have.

Because, you see, it was all a hoax. Untrue. Never happened. Publicity stunt to keep Paul's name in front of people. Fake.

The full article clarifying the SNAFU (?) is at Left Coast Views, laid out very clearly by columnist William Westmiller.

Fast forward to today and my reading through Memorandum again.

What do I find but a main headline "Yep, It's an Outrage" by Josh Marshall at TPM.

Lo and behold, it's a complete re-hash of the original false report, again complete with slams against FOX News. Two days and a full clarification later. Here is his final sentence from his completely off-course (does the left ever steer straight?) rant:
So, it's all about Fox News. Paul's out because he's not a Fox News Bush-clone. Say whatever you want about the guy, Fox News shouldn't be able to silence him because they don't like his views.
THIS is where the left gets their news? No wonder they're always angry--they're two steps behind and completely incapable of being relevant due to their constant lagging!

Alas, were it just one "reporter" from an "allegedly reputable" blog, it might be forgivable. But it's not just one. We also have "Sir Yes Sir" by Digby at Hullabaloo with this:
The Republicans don't like what Paul is saying and they told their boy Ailes to shut him down. They aren't even trying to hide it.
Comments from Hullabaloo:
Hell, he ought to be glad that they are not running specials 24/7 to convince the populace that he is Satan. Is he not racist enough? Nah, that can't be it. Do his policies actually benefit anyone other than millionaires? Nah, that can't be it. Does he question the unerring authority of lip-service to the Bible and all the kooks that stand under it? Nah, that can't be it. Seriously why is he not one of them? Is it because he has snowed stoners and small-businessmen into giving him money for his upcoming Texas think-tank to remove handicapped parking spaces from the mall? Tossing good money after bad is a revered Republican ritual. He's one of them and the fact that the jackboots are being used to kick his carcass only proves it that much more. We all know the 11th commandment but did you know that the 12th is stab any bastard in the back you can and blame it on someone else? Republicans, outratfucking ratfuckers - it's a family tradition!
So why is saying FOX is "as dangerous as the KKK" considered the epitome of "divisive, bitter and intemperate left-wing rhetoric"?
“The New Hampshire Republican Party has notified FOX News of our position, and we are in ongoing discussions with FOX News about having as many candidates as possible participate in the forum scheduled for January 6.”
And, the comments:

It is time to stand up to the giants who control information. Their manipulation of events allows them to big play makers and determine how elections turn out. Fox position of Ron Paul is tantamount to censorship, a power that information media should not have in this democracy. Supposing another information outlet such as CNN, the Clinton News Network, decided that they did want to report on events of the 7 democrat candidates they don't support, or hired news analysts and pundits who used to be part of Clinton administrations, how fair would that be?

SHAME ON FOX. SHAME ON CNN. SHAME ON ANYONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE IN FAIR ELECTION. ISN'T IT FOX WHICH ANNOUNCED BUSH VICTORY OVER AL GORE.

and:

Fox is a threat to our democracy, our Constitution, our Republic. Ron Paul and supporters are really turning into a force. Let's hope it's strong enough to overcome corporate media.

and my favorite:

Thank you to Jason George and the Baltimore Sun. You guys are an example of journalistic integrity.

The fact the Fox news is trying to whitewash Ron Paul's message is an outrage.

Jesse Benton, Paul's spokesman, said it was a "big mistake" not to include his candidate, especially given Paul's recent success in fundraising. He said the campaign has been trying to reach Fox News to explain the decision, but its calls had not been returned.

"There very well might be some bias," Benton said. "Ron brings up some topics that aren't very popular with Fox News, as in fiscal responsibility and withdrawing from the war in Iraq...that does leave us scratching our heads a little bit about whether it was deliberate. Based on metrics, I don't see how you can possibly exclude Dr. Paul."

Follow the links to read the rest of the drivel.

My question is this--ARE THESE PEOPLE STONED OUT OF THEIR GOURDS? HAVE THEY BEEN STONED OUT OF THEIR GOURDS FOR THE PAST TWO DAYS?

This is a completely old, completely debunked issue, a non-issue resolved two days ago! This is what counts as current, relevant news on the LEFT?

These people need a clue--maybe we should pass the hat and buy them one? I hear they're on sale right now at WalMart during the Christmas clearance.

Sheesh.

Chief Distortionist Greenwald Whining About Ron Paul Distortions?

cross post from Snooper of A Newt One

~Snooper~
What a crock! no matter the spin, Greenie, spin is spin and your version of spin is ineffective...we are on to you and have been for quite a spell. Ron Paul is a fraud, plain and simple. As most politicians do, he likes to waste tax payer's money, much like Kucinich trying to impeach VP Cheney for uncommitted crimes to satisfy the ill-fated and passe anti-Americanist Movement(s), aka, Convoluted Bowel Movements.

Ronniev Pauliev, although blessed with the gift of gab, is, at heart, an anti-Americanist himself and his following is no better than the likes of the crowds such as Code Pepto Dismal and similar pathetic minions. It is no wonder that the Leftinistra author for salon, a known Leftinistra rag, a mouthpiece for other anti-Americanist groups, would rally to the aid of another Leftinistra in GOP Garb.

News Flash to Greenie Waldo...Ron Paul is not a Republican. We also know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the "supporters" for Ronniev Pauliev are part of the dire straights the Leftinistra are in and, whatever they can do to trash the upcoming elections, they will do. It isn't working. Ronniev Pauliev hasn't a snowball's chance in Kennedy's freezer to make it to the White House.

Orcinus has an in-depth look into Ron Paul's "record" and it clearly reveals an Isolationist and shallow politician that is not only unqualified to lead this Great Nation, he is unqualified to breath free air. This piece is what has Greenie Waldo's panties in a wad. This piece and the plethora of others past, present and future will sink Ronniev Pauliev and the supporters will go back supporting the likes of Kucinich...that is if the Mother Ship doesn't arrive in time.

Little Green Footballs posted this a few days ago and the Paulievs shrieked...

LGF reader Shiplord Kirel alerts us to some very interesting excerpts at Free Republic from the old Ron Paul newsletter, being posted by a Freeper over the objections of the site̢۪s Paulians. The excerpts are from the mid 80s to the late 90s:

Ron Paul supported the PLO terrorists (1985)
Ron Paul: Israel bought Jesse Helms (1985)
Ron Paul" Traitor had direct line to President Reagan (1992, refers to commie business collaborator Armand Hammer)
RON PAUL ON DEFENSE SPENDING (1992, sounds like Ramsey Clark)
Ron Paul: Clinton didn̢۪t cut defense enough (1993)
Ron Paul: US "military is mowing civilians down in the streets" (1993, refers to Somalia)
RON PAUL ACCUSED U.S. TROOPS OF WAR CRIMES IN DESERT STORM (1991, this one repeats Ramsey Clark̢۪s allegations almost verbatim)

He has no thoughts of his own and his whining voice attracts the weak...

Catch the wave.
