Craziness....

Is it just me or has the world suddenly gone crazier than usual? Just over the past week, week and a half, there have been some outlandish stories.

For example:

Dutch Catholics Label Lent the "Christian Ramadan" to Encourage Self Denial. This was found at the Catholic News Agency here. Personally, I find it highly offensive to pollute Catholicism with the barbaric beliefs of islam--a false religion and societal ideology based upon the hallucinations and machinations of a misogynistic pedophile. There are two quotes that speak to the appeasement of this murderous cult:
"The image of the Catholic Lent must be polished. The fact that we use a Muslim term is related to the fact that Ramadan is a better-known concept among young people than Lent," said Vastenaktie Director, Martin Van der Kuil, told the Daily Telegraph.

Van der Kuil believed the name change would highlight similarities between Christianity and Islam.
This guy needs to go back to school and study up on his faith--there is no similarity between Catholicism and islam. None.

Then we have this little tidbit from BBC 24:

Council Ponders Lighting Turn Off found here. This bit of insanity has this as a lead in paragraph:

Council officials in Leicestershire are looking into plans to switch off some street lighting overnight in a bid to cut costs and fight global warming.
and:
Rural villages have been suggested as possible locations to trial the authority's proposals.
and:
"It's an idea worth pursuing because we're all very keen to cut down on electricity usage nd carbon pollution.
I'm sure the criminals are salivating over all those dark areas to facilitate their crime.

But wait! There's MORE!

Speaking of global warming...

From an AP article, "Mysterious Creatures Found in Antarctica" (here) we see this:
Australian experts taking part in an international program to take a census of marine life in the ocean at the far south of the world collected specimens from up to 6,500 feet beneath the surface, and said many may never have been seen before.
Sounds reasonable so far...however, it quickly goes "south" (pun intended) with this:
The expedition is part of an ambitious international effort to map life forms in the Antarctic Ocean, also known as the Southern Ocean, and to study the impact of forces such as climate change on the undersea environment.
and wraps up with this:
Scientists are planning a follow-up expedition in 10 to 15 years to examine the effects of climate changes on the region's environment.
Yet, in the SAME SECTION of AP news, we find THIS article, "Scientists Find Devil Toad Fossil" here:
But its size - 10 pounds and 16 inches long - isn't the only curiosity. Researchers discovered the creature's bones in Madagascar. Yet it seems to be a close relative of normal-sized frogs who today live half a world away in South America, challenging assumptions about ancient geography.
There's more:
It seems to be a relative of South American horned frogs, known scientifically as Ceratophrys. Popular as pets, they're sometimes called pacman frogs for their huge mouths.
And, the wrap up:

The family link raises a paleontology puzzle: Standard theory for how the continents drifted apart show what is now Madagascar would have been long separated by ocean from South America during Beelzebufo's time. And frogs can't survive long in salt water, Krause noted.

He contends the giant frog provides evidence for competing theories that some bridge still connected the land masses that late in time, perhaps via an Antarctica that was much warmer than today. (Emphasis mine).

No, we're not finished with global warming yet!

I see over at Spree's Wake Up America an article titled "Can Someone Turn Up the Global Warming Please? I'm Freezing Over Here!". This article is chock full of links regarding the false global warming nonsense and how it's being used to fleece the world. We see in her article (Actually, I think HCDL wrote this article--yep a double check shows he did) Jerusalem has snow, the ice sheets have nearlly recovered from their mini-melt that led to such dire predictions, record cold in Asia--in short, an extremely cold winter considering the world is in the middle of a man-made global warming, climate change disaster. Here's a few teasers from his article:

Scare mongering appears to be the case, according to reports from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that reveal that almost all the allegedly “lost” ice has come back. A NOAA report shows that ice levels which had shrunk from 5 million square miles in January 2007 to just 1.5 million square miles in October, are almost back to their original levels.

Moreover, a Feb. 18 report in the London Daily Express showed that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than usual, challenging the global warming crusaders and buttressing arguments of skeptics who deny that the world is undergoing global warming.

and:

Did anyone hear that it's snowing in Jerusalem today, by the way? Not a very interesting news story, unless you factor in the fact that snow is a VERY unusual thing for the area. Five centimeters of snow were recorded in Jerusalem this morning, after a rare second cold front in less than a month's time came through the region, covering not only Jerusalem but the West Bank towns of Bethlehem and Hebron, while the Gaza Strip was covered by heavy rains.

Global warming causes snow in Israel? How very interesting indeed. What else is going on in the world in regards to rising temperatures?

The Daily Express reported yesterday that NOAA research shows that there is a third more ice in Antarctica this year than normal. The ice sheet between Canada and Greenland is higher than it has been in fifteen years. Snow and freezing weather have killed 120 people in Afghanistan. China has suffered snow storms so severe that migrant workers have been left stranded, transportation has suffered shut downs, there have been massive power outages over nearly half of 33 provinces due to coal shortages.

Global warming, right?

The article is great, you have GOT to go visit.

What other insanity? Well, we have Michelle Obama who, while wanting to be First Lady, has decided to follow in the footsteps of the trailer trash First Ladies such as Hillary (not the upper crust First Ladies with CLASS) by showing her true colors as to her feelings about America and how, at age 44, after a privileged life, Ivy League schools, nice home and family, she is only NOW proud of her country. Forget her color--or don't--but don't forget those blacks who came before who paved the way for her to get the education she received and all the accomplishments of Americans AND THIS GREAT COUNTRY in our history. It might have been understandable if 1) she was extremely tired and not paying attention to what she was saying; 2) just didn't think before opening her trap and inserting her foot and 3) she only said it once. HOWEVER--she said it TWICE. She needs better speechwriters. Better yet, she needs to shut up and sit down. If she wants to be a REAL First Lady instead of a trailer trash, big mouth wanna-be, she needs to shut up. Let her husband run his own damned campaign. Or is this their signal of another two-fer presidency? God help us.

Finally, the debacle in Berkley keeps getting better. I've seen this on a couple of blogs, a few emails and heard this on some talk radio shows. It seems the police in Berkley don't understand what "Protect and Serve" means. It seems several of the Code Pink whackos decided to cross the boundary lines into the Move America Forward boundaries. It also seems Code Pink whackos decided to physically assault some of the Move America Forward contingent. What do you expect from traitors, though? Our Move America Forward patriots stood firm and didn't degenerate into the violence Code Pink so obviously wanted. HOWEVER...oh you're going to love this boys and girls...THE POLICE STOOD BY WHILE THESE ASSAULTS WERE TAKING PLACE AND THEN PLACED THE MOVE AMERICA FORWARD PEOPLE UNDER ARREST--RATHER THAN THE CODE PINK ASSAULTERS. For a full description of what happened that day, go visit Move America Forward here. Personally, I'd be advising those assaulted to begin legal proceedings against the City of Berkley and the Berkley Police Department for dereliction of duty, false arrest, etc.

These are just some of the highlights of craziness...I'm sure if I wasn't so tired I'd be able to find many more examples of hypocrisy, greed, 180 degree turns and more evidence Berkley needs to be surrounded by a 15 foot high spiked fence with no entrance or exits for the animals in that zoo. Go click the links and be entertained!
