Hillary Clinton: Secretary of Malarkey

Radio news reports of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's remarks about terrorism and economic development were insufficient basis for a blog post. I found the search to be difficult until I located a New York Times article by Nicholas Kristof which provide a link to Foreign Policy, which published the Secretary's prepared remarks delivered to the Center for Global Development in Washington, D.C..

News reports gave the impression that Secretary Clinton had implied that terrorism is a function of poverty & deprivation, which can be ameliorated by economic development. In skimming the prepared remarks, the sound bite stood out like a sore thumb

We cannot stop terrorism or defeat the ideologies of violent extremism when hundreds of millions of young people see a future with no jobs, no hope, and no way ever to catch up to the developed world.

Let us apply logic to that statement. Hati is impoverished, with little hope for the future. Are Hatians detonating themselves? Are they hijacking aircraft and flying them into office towers? If terrorism is a function of poverty, why aren't Hatians engaged in terrorist acts?

Were the five American Muslims who went to Pakistan to join the Jihad hopeless, uneducated victims of poverty? One of them was a dental student, others were employed. They had sufficient money to purchase expensive tickets to fly to Pakistan. How about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab? Is the British educated son of a Nigerian Banker impoverished? How could he afford a ticket to America?

Ayman al-Zawahiri is a pediatrician. Usama bin Laden and Khalid Sheikh Mohammad are engineers. Why are those professionals who could earn good incomes engaged in terrorism while the impoverished Hatians are not? What do Abdulmutallab, Zawahiri & bin Ladin have in common? Could it be Islam?

How could Islam motivate Muslims to engage in terrorism? [Emphasis added.]

• 33:21. Indeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad ) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day and remembers Allâh much.
  

If a Muslim wants to meet Allah and gain admission to Paradise, he should emulate Moe. What did Moe do that they should emulate?

• Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
  Narrated Abu Huraira:
  
  Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).
• Bukhari Volume 9, Book 90, Number 333:

  Narrated Al-A'rai:

  Abu Huraira said, Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hand my life is, I would love to fight in Allah's Cause and then get martyred and then resurrected (come to life) and then get martyred and then resurrected (come to life) and then get martyred, and then resurrected (come to life) and then get martyred and then resurrected (come to life)." Abu Huraira used to repeat those words three times and I testify to it with Allah's Oath.

• Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
  Narrated Anas bin Malik:
  Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."
  

Moe is a role model for Muslims to emulate; a terrorist who craved serial martyrdom. He was also ordered to fight the people until they submit to Islam. Since we have not submitted to Islam, Muslims who seek admission to Paradise must emulate Moe by fighting us, using terrorism as a battle tactic.

In fact, the Qur'an reveals that terrorism is an intrinsic sacrament, foundational to Islam, not a modern innovation.

• 3:151. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong­doers).
• 8:12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."
• 8:57. So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.
• 8:60. Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. [Abdullah Yusuf Ali]
• 33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.
• 59:2. He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Bani An-Nadir) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah! But Allah's (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).
• 59:13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Bani An-Nadir) breasts than Allah. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allah).

Muslims who obey Allah and emulate Moe will engage in terrorism.

Which is better, poor terrorists who can't afford explosives and airline tickets or rich terrorists who can build bombs and travel at will? Facilitating economic development in Islamic nations only serves to improve their ability to attack us.

Is it possible that a graduate of the Yale law school is unable to get a clue? If the Secretary of State reads this without obtaining a clue, then we must assume that malfeasance is involved.

Yesterday in Washington, D.C., Army Ranger 1st Lt Michael Behenna's case came up for a clemency hearing. This American hero is serving a 25-year sentence for a crime he did not commit. That's right: this American soldier is another in an ever growing list of American soldiers convicted as criminals for doing the job for which the U.S. Army trained him.

On March 20th, 2009, 1st Lieutenant Michael Behenna was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a known Al Qaeda operative while serving in Iraq. The “victim”, Ali Mansur, was known to be a member of an Al Qaeda cell operating in the lieutenant’s area of operation, and was suspected to have organized an attack on Lt. Behenna’s platoon in April 2008 which killed two U.S. soldiers and injured two more. Army intelligence ordered the release of Mansur and Lt. Behenna was ordered to return the terrorist to his home....

HUMAN EVENTS Petition to Move KSM Trial from NYC

I have written before about AG Holder's announcement to hold Khalid Sheikh Mohammed accountable for his terrorist actions in a New York civilian court. You can read those again here, here and here. That last link was an interview with Diane Fairben, mother of Keith, one of the heroes of 9/11.

Diane said (in part):

..this was an act of war. They had an agenda and were military trained......

"...somebody has to be held accountable, to make sure the right thing is done. The right thing is that they be tried in military court... that is absolutely the right place." (follow the above links to read who else agrees with Diane.)

There have been rallies, there have been letters, to AG Holder. Members of the 9/11 Families have gone on national radio and television to demand that KSM be tried in a military court.

We, the editors of HUMAN EVENTS, RedState.com, and the many Americans who have attached our names to this petition hereby request that you try al-Qaeda's confessed 9/11 terrorist mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four al-Qaeda cohorts in a military tribunal, reversing your precedent-changing decision to try them in a civilian court in New York City.

There is no reason, much less a requirement, under U.S. Constitutional or statutory law to grant KSM and the others the right to a trial in civilian courts, nor to offer them any of the corresponding Constitutional rights afforded U.S. citizens. Logic, reason, and justice demand that the terrorists who planned the 9/11 attacks be treated as enemy combatants in a war against the United States, not as common civilian criminals.

Our reasons for urging you to reverse your decision include:

1. Trying these terrorists in a civilian court would be a break with 200+ years of American jurisprudence. From British spies during the War of Independence to Nazi saboteurs caught on U.S. soil during World War II, we have tried those who make war against America in military, not civilian, courts. This change in policy sets a potentially catastrophic precedent. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

2. The very real possibility exists that if tried in a civilian court, KSM and the others could be acquitted on a technicality, such as their not having been informed of their Miranda rights, or having been denied a speedy trial. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

3. KSM and the others should not be allowed to hijack our courts, using them as a media circus to promulgate their hate-filled, extremist views. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

4. A civilian trial would send the dangerous message to our enemies that the United States has reverted to its ineffective, pre-9/11 crime-fighting approach to terrorism. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

5. In a civilian trial, valuable intelligence about interrogation techniques and other classified information will be revealed to America's enemies, giving them a huge advantage in successfully carrying out terrorist plots in the future. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

6. Americans are willing to pay to ensure justice is served. However, the estimated security cost of $200 million for the KSM trial is completely avoidable and a total waste of taxpayer money. This would not happen with a military tribunal; and

7. While Americans are willing and able to stand up to protect themselves and their property, trying KSM and the others in New York invites a terrorist attack, creating a huge, unnecessary risk to our court workers, jurors, and everyone in the New York City area. This would not happen with a military tribunal;

Our final words are from David Beamer, father of Todd Beamer, one of the heroes of United Flight 93: "Our enemies must be thrilled" he wrote of your decision to give KSM and the others a civilian trial in Manhattan. "We are willingly handing them an opportunity to inflict economic harm on New York City, keep their cause in the headlines, gather new intelligence, create new terror strategies, stimulate recruiting, celebrate new found rights, and foist a fresh round of pain and suffering upon their victims."

Mr. Holder, as Attorney General of the United States, it was within your power to move the trial of KSM from a military tribunal to a civilian court. It is equally within your power to reverse that dangerous decision. We request that you do so forthwith.

Obamination: Flight 253 Part 1

On Dec. 28, '09, President Obama made a statement about the attempt to destroy Flight 253, adding remarks about the uprising in Iran. I quote the remarks about the terror attack, interspersing my comments.

THE PRESIDENT: Hey, guys. Good morning, everybody. I just want to take a few minutes to update the American people on the attempted terrorist attack that occurred on Christmas Day and the steps we're taking to ensure the safety and security of the country.

The safety and security of the USA can not be ensured short of the total and complete elimination of the enemy which seeks to harm us. Obamination is not taking any steps to reach that strategic objective.

The investigation is ongoing and I spoke again this morning with Attorney General Eric Holder, the Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, and my Counterterrorism and Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan. I asked them to keep -- continue monitoring the situation, to keep the American people and members of Congress informed.

Investigations only waste precious time and money. We already know that the perpetrator is a Muslim engaged in an act of Jihad. Nothing more need to be known. Islamic doctrine and law require a continuing series of attacks against disbelievers until the entire world is conquered and subjugated. Eliminating Islam is the only solution to this problem. There is no other way to prevent Islam from attacking us.

Here's what we know so far. On Christmas Day, Northwest Airlines Flight 253 was en route from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Detroit. As the plane made its final approach to Detroit Metropolitan Airport, a passenger allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device on his body, setting off a fire.

Allegedly? Sweet loving Jesus Christ! A photograph of the remains of the perpetrator's underwear have been posted on the web! The explosive material has been identified. He did not attempt to ignite the explosive, he attempted to detonate it and only succeeded in igniting it. If the detonation had been successful, Obamination would be assuring us that the crash resulted from an accident, not from enemy action.

Thanks to the quick and heroic actions of passengers and crew, the suspect was immediately subdued, the fire was put out, and the plane landed safely. The suspect is now in custody and had been charged with attempting to destroy an aircraft. And a full investigation has been launched into this attempted act of terrorism and we will not rest until we find all who were involved and hold them accountable.

Thanks to the failure of the detonating device & methodology, the bomb burned instead of exploding. Had the device functioned as designed, no intervention would have been possible; the entire aircraft would have been destroyed, with the lives of all aboard and perhaps many deaths and much property damage on the ground.

Why in Hell is the perpetrator charged as a criminal offender when his ignition of the device was an act of war? Why is he being given a lawyer, a trial and the rights, privileges & immunities of a citizen, which he does not deserve? Why was he not given a bullet lubricated in lard and a shroud made from pig skin which he richly deserves? Because we elected a traitor instead of a President, that's why!

This was a serious reminder of the dangers that we face and the nature of those who threaten our homeland. Had the suspect succeeded in bringing down that plane it could have killed nearly 300 passengers and crew, innocent civilians preparing to celebrate the holidays with their families and friends.

What dangers do we face? Who threatens us? Why do they threaten us? Why won't Obamination provide clear and specific answers to these foundational interrogatories? We are threatened with the imposition of a series of injuries & insults, resulting in bleeding our society to death and impoverishing it; destroying our will and ability to resist subjugation & enslavement.

Islam threatens us. Not extremists; not radicals; not a tiny minority: Islam! No elected politician will acknowledge the fact that orthodox Islamic doctrine, exegeses, tradition & law require the conquest and subjugation of the entire world. They will not bother to go to Wikipedia and look up the Barbary War, in which entry they will find a clear and concise explanation of why Muslims attacked us, beginning in the 18^th century. They won't read the Qur'an & hadith, where they would learn the same truth nor will they read Reliance of the Traveller. Instead they will waste millions of dollars on investigations that will settle nothing.

The American people should be assured that we are doing everything in our power to keep you and your families safe and secure during this busy holiday season. Since I was first notified of this incident I've ordered the following actions to be taken to protect the American people and to secure air travel.

We can only be secured by eliminating Islam from the face of the earth. The doctrines which require Muslims to attack us must cease to be propagated and believed. For every new security measure you put in effect, Islam will devise a counter measure or work around. If you want to keep our flights safe and secure, then keep Muslims on the ground, off those flights. Prohibiting Muslims from flying to or over our territory would be much more practical than the Mickey Mouse security procedures which hamper and harass fliers.

First, I directed that we take immediate steps to ensure the safety of the traveling public. We made sure that all flights still in the air were secure and could land safely. We immediately enhanced screening and security procedures for all flights, domestic and international. We added federal air marshals to flights entering and leaving the United States. And we're working closely in this country -- federal, state and local law enforcement -- with our international partners.

You did not ban Muslims from aircraft. You did nothing beneficial. You have no means to detect a suppository or bolus inside a bomber's body. Air marshals can not do anything to stop a bomb from going off once the detonator is engaged. This is war, not a criminal case. Yemen, Saudi Arabia, etc. are not our partners or allies, they are our enemies. They oppose terrorists seeking to dethrone them and support terrorists seeking to destroy us.

Second, I've ordered two important reviews because it's absolutely critical that we learn from this incident and take the necessary measures to prevent future acts of terrorism. The first review involves our watch list system, which our government has had in place for many years to identify known and suspected terrorists so that we can prevent their entry into the United States.

Why did you not learn from Project Bojinka? Why did you not learn from Richard Reid? Why did you not learn from the plan to hide bombs in baby bottles? You will never learn because you have no desire to learn. You are a traitor, one of the enemy in our midst, improperly elected to high office, of which you are most undeserving.

If they are Muslim, they are potential terrorists, and there is no way to differentiate the real from the potential until they explode. Their entry can best be prevented by a total and permanent ban on the entry of Muslims. Keep them off of airplanes, ships and trains. It is that simple. If they have the word Muslim on their passport or identity card, if they come from a nation with a significant Muslim population or if they have a Muslim name, they better damn well have proof of active membership in a passive religion or they can stay home.

Google their names. Read their web postings. Read any books they have published. Check their resumes. Interview their families and associates. But, in the present case, the perpetrator's father warned you, and you still let him board that aircraft!

Apparently the suspect in the Christmas incident was in the system, but not on a watch list such as the so-called no-fly list. So I've ordered a thorough review not only of how information related to the subject was handled, but of the overall watch list system and how it can be strengthened.

If you had any sense, and were not a traitor, there would be one list, with the name of every Muslim in the world on it, and they would not be allowed to fly to or over our territory. There is no other solution to the problem of attacks on aircraft by passengers.

The second review will examine all screening policies, technologies and procedures related to air travel. We need to determine just how the suspect was able to bring dangerous explosives aboard an aircraft and what additional steps we can take to thwart future attacks.

There has already been a shoe bomb and an underwear bomb. One terrorist in Saudi Arabia swallowed his bomb. Bombs could be inserted rectally or surgically implanted. If you had any desire to prevent aircraft bombings, you'd exclude Muslims from all flights to and over America.

Third, I've directed my national security team to keep up the pressure on those who would attack our country. We do not yet have all the answers about this latest attempt, but those who would slaughter innocent men, women and children must know that the United States will do more than simply strengthen our defenses -- we will continue to use every element of our national power to disrupt, to dismantle, and defeat the violent extremists who threaten us -- whether they are from Afghanistan or Pakistan, Yemen or Somalia, or anywhere where they are plotting attacks against the U.S. homeland.

The set of terrorists is the set of persons who believe that the Qur'an is the perfect, timeless & immutable revealed word of Allah; who have submitted to Allah and seek to emulate his Messenger. The set of terrorists is Al-Ummah Al-Islamia. Can you kill 1.3 billion Muslims, dispersed all over the world and mixed in with innocent people? Are you willing to do it? Then sit down and shut up!

Are you able and willing to implement a mass media attack on the doctrines of Islam? Are you able and willing to initiate press, television, film and satellite broadcast missions to induce mass apostasy & conversion of Muslims?

Those are the two possibilities; there is no other solution. Which one are you preparing to implement? Are you willing to kill the top terrorist leaders and bomb their funeral processions, bombing those of the terrorists killed, until the recalcitrant true believers are eliminated? Then what the Hell will you do? You have no solution, you have only diversions from objective factual reality. Your diversions waste precious time and money and accomplish nothing of value.

Finally, the American people should remain vigilant, but also be confident. Those plotting against us seek not only to undermine our security, but also the open society and the values that we cherish as Americans. This incident, like several that have preceded it demonstrates that an alert and courageous citizenry are far more resilient than an isolated extremist. As a nation we will do everything in our power to protect our country, as Americans we will never give in to fear or division, we will be guided by our hopes, our unity, and our deeply held values. That's who we are as Americans. And that's what our brave men and women in uniform are standing up for as they spend the holidays in harm's way, and we will continue to do everything that we can to keep America safe in the New Year and beyond.

Terror attacks are designed to disrupt society. They intend to induce panic & paralysis. They intend to cause distrust and paranoia. They intend to bleed us to death financially.

Terror attacks are asymmetrical warfare, yet they are still warfare. We, too have a means of asymmetrical warfare; it was put to very good use about one year before I was born. If you are not willing to use it, you are not willing to keep the lamp of liberty lit; you are willing to waste the all the investment in blood and treasure that has kept this nation free for more than 230 years. Hiroshima & Nagasaki have much to teach you, Mr. President.
