Hydra of War

Radical Islam will ensure the constant replacement of whatever terrorists we kill.

by Raymond IbrahimNational Review Online

Is the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Hamza al-Masri, dead? Iraqi authorities just proclaimed that he was recently killed due to infighting. But al Qaeda-related websites beg to differ: “[H]e is still fighting the enemies of Allah.” And the U.S. is unsure: “I [Lieutenant-Colonel Garver] hope it’s true; we’re checking, but we’re going to be doubly sure before we can confirm anything.” The most important question, however, isn’t being much addressed: Would the death of al-Masri — or any other Islamist leader — make any difference, at all?One is reminded of all the hubbub surrounding the killing of al-Masri’s infamous predecessor — the head-chopping Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — nearly one year ago. Then, almost every major politician, including President Bush, Prime Minister Blair, and Iraq’s Prime Minister Maliki, gave some sort of victory speech, some highly triumphant, others more cautious.But if Zarqawi’s death did not hinder al Qaeda’s highly influential presence in Iraq — estimated to have grown since then — will al-Masri’s? Indeed, would the death of Aymin al-Zawahiri or Osama bin Laden himself have any tangible affects on the growth, spread, and goals of radical Islam? Recent history provides a lucid answer to these questions.

Consider the progress of the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest and oldest Islamic fundamentalist organization today, which Aymin al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s number two man, joined when he was fourteen years old. Founded in Egypt by Hassan al-Banna in 1928, it originally boasted only six members. In the following decades, in part thanks to the radical writings of one of its premiere ideologues, Sayyid Qutb — whom al Qaeda quotes liberally in their many writings — the Brotherhood, though constantly clashing with Egypt’s government, grew steadily.As leaders, both Banna and Qutb were eventually targeted and killed by Egypt’s government — the former assassinated and the latter executed. Far from dying out, however, the Brotherhood continued thriving underground for many more decades. Then, to the world’s surprise, the partially banned, constantly harassed Brotherhood managed to win 88 out of 454 seats in Egypt’s 2005 parliamentary elections — making them the largest opposition bloc in the government.After two of its most prominent leaders were killed, after thousands of its members have been harassed, jailed, and sometimes tortured, today the Brotherhood is stronger, more influential, and securer than at any other time in its turbulent history.

Palestine’s Hamas, itself an offshoot of the Brotherhood, is another case in point. Founded in 1987 by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Hamas has since been labeled a terrorist organization by several nations, including the U.S., most notably for its many suicide-operations against Israel. Due to Yassin’s figurehead status in Hamas, the Israeli government targeted him for assassination: on March 22, 2004, while the quadriplegic Yassin was being wheeled out of a mosque after morning prayers, an Israeli helicopter launched two Hellfire missiles at him, killing him instantly.The result? Far from waning or demoralizing, Hamas, like the Brotherhood before them and also to international consternation, went on to win a major landslide election in the January 2006 Palestinian elections, thereby officially representing the Palestinian people.

Then there is the Ayatollah Khomeini — the original poster-boy of radical Islam. Overthrowing a secular government and coming to power in Iran’s Islamic revolution of 1979, Khomeini transformed Iran into a theocratic state — precisely what al Qaeda yearns to see happen in the rest of the Islamic world. From influencing the American hostage crisis to issuing a fatwa condemning a novelist to death to taunting the U.S., which he termed “the Great Satan” — for one decade he was the West’s bane.Today, nearly 20 years after the death of the Iranian cleric, not much has changed in Iran. Sharia law still governs; Sharia-endorsed enmity towards the West still thrives. In fact, the only real difference is that the Islamic theocracy’s aspiration for nuclear armaments is nearly realized.

There are countless other examples from both past and present history where popular Islamist leaders were either killed or died naturally and the only thing that changed is that the movement they led grew and consolidated more power.Indeed, the Muslim prophet Muhammad himself was harassed, attacked, and targeted for killing by his non-Muslim neighbors — sometimes in self-defense — and today, 1,400 years after his death, the movement he started claims over one billion adherents.Aymin al-Zawahiri summarizes this phenomenon well. Asked in one of his most recent interviews about the status of bin Laden and the Taliban’s one-eyed Mullah Omar, he confidently replied:
Jihad in the path of Allah is greater than any individual or organization. It is a struggle between Truth and Falsehood, until Allah Almighty inherits the earth and those who live in it. Mullah Muhammad Omar and Sheikh Osama bin Laden—may Allah protect them from all evil—are merely two soldiers of Islam in the journey of jihad, while the struggle between Truth and Falsehood transcends time (from The Al-Qaeda Reader, 182).
According to this statement, which itself is grounded in the Koran, Islamic militants are not the cause of the war. They are but a symptom of a much greater cause — the “struggle between Truth [Islam] and Falsehood [non-Islam]” that “transcends time.”

The problem, then, is not men like Khomeini, Banna, Qutb, and Yassin — nor is it even bin Laden, Zawahiri, or al-Masri: individually killing them off is only treating the symptom, not curing the malady. The root cause is the violent and fascist ideology that motivates them.Unfortunately, this ideology is grounded in a religion and a God replete with eternal damnations and rewards, and thus not easily discredited. None of the aforementioned men initiated the many commands that create strife between Muslims and non-Muslims; they only upheld them.

Immutable verses from the Koran, as well as countless statements from and examples by Muhammad, are the ultimate source of this animosity:“Fight them [infidels] until there in no more seduction and all religion belongs to Allah alone” (Koran 8:39).“When you encounter infidels, strike off their heads” (Koran 47:4).“I [Muhammad] have been made victorious through terror” (Bukhari B52N220).No “radical” Muslim fabricated these verses and others like them. These are understood to be the everlasting words of Allah and his prophet.Even the reckless strikes of 9/11 — where mostly civilians, including women and children, were killed — are justified for al Qaeda through Islam.

While it is true that Islam is generally against the killing of non-combatants such as women and children, there are certain exceptions to this generalization, and al Qaeda often cites them to validate 9/11. For instance, Muhammad authorized his followers to use catapults during their siege of the town of Taif in 630 A.D., though he was aware that women and children were sheltered there. Also, when asked if it was permissible to launch night raids or set fire to the fortifications of the infidels if women and children were among them, the prophet is said to have responded, “They are from among them” (Muslim B19N4321).

The West’s plight vis-à-vis radical Islam is therefore akin to Hercules’s epic encounter with the multiheaded Hydra-monster. Every time the mythical strongman lopped off one of the monster’s heads, two new ones grew in its place. To slay the beast once and for all, Hercules figured out that he could cauterize the stumps with fire, thereby preventing any more heads from sprouting out.Similarly, while the West continues lopping off radicalized “monster-heads,” it is imperative to at least acknowledge the malady — radical Islam — in order to ultimately prevail. Victory can only come when the violent ideologies of radical Islam have been cauterized.But, alas, the Hydra-monster is myth; radical Islam is stark reality.

War Memorial Destroyed: HELP Needed

In Beeville Texas a war memorial honoring veterans killed in four separate wars, was destroyed. (Hat Tip to Bob for the email)

That memorial once stood as five granite panels, with the names of 45 veterans who lost their lives, paying the ultimate sacrifice. But Tuesday, the memorial lies in pieces at the city's maintenance yard.

Local veterans said they're not sure when the memorial was vandalized. They say it looks like someone took their car and just rammed into it. The memorial was erected in 1989 and residents there said they're devastated by it's vandalism, because it's more than just rock - it's a symbol of freedom.

"This particular war memorial has World War I, World War II, Korean and Vietnam. And so it has quite a bit of names," Vietnam War veteran Ram Chavez said.

Now, veterans there are asking for help from anyone who can help raise the money to replace and repair that memorial.

This memorial is important to this town, to the families of the fallen and to veterans across the country.

With that said, I will be emailing this story to Fisher House, Soldier's Angels, Spirit of America and anyone else that we can try to get to help.

Please email me at wakeupamerica.spree@gmail.com or leave a note in the comments if you have any ideas of others that can help this town get the funds they need to repair or rebuild this memorial.

This is not a political issue, it is not a Republican nor Democratic issue, we may all disagree about Iraq, but I see Republicans and Democrats alike claiming they support our troops, I see people saying they honor our veterans.... so let us do so.

The vandalism of the memorial has Beeville veterans saddened, and others are outraged. It even brought one veteran to tears.

Behind the broken tablets of granite, were the broken hearts of local veterans.

"That monument there, don't have the advantage of defending itself, like I do, or you do," Korean War veteran Magdaleno R. Velasco said.

Velasco, 88, served 26 years in the Army, he was wounded in the right foot during the Korean War.

"I can walk a little, but my fellow soldiers, they lose a leg or a hand and they're in wheelchairs," Velasco said.

Vietnam War veteran Ram Chavez of Corpus Christi said the memorial honored the lives of those who sacrificed greatly for their country.

"It has names of young men who just didn't get the opportunity to do anything," Chavez said. "Ride a motorcycle, be a teacher, coach...have children. They were 17, 18, 19, 20 year olds killed in action."

Chavez said that while those who died will never be replaced, he hopes their memorial will be.

"The damage, those memories are lost and that cannot happen," Chavez said. "If we forget the names, then we'll forget everyone that's made us free."

Police are not investigating incident at this point, saying there's no way to determine if memorial was vandalized. Or damaged by accident. Veterans said they hope local businesses will help raise the money to rebuild it.

The memorial cost $10,000 when it was built in 1989.

[Quick Update] From CavMom- Quick update: I have been on the phone with Mr. Velasco who is a disabled Veteran in Beeville, TX. He will be spear heading all collections from his end and we will tie in directly with the Veterans in Beeville! He is getting help setting up from the Veterans in Corpus Christi. We will have the Memorial back up with the help of America!

U.S. Government Ignores Hamas On Our Shores.

Helping Hand to Hamas

By Joe KaufmanFrontPageMagazine.com May 15, 2007

When it comes to Islamic-oriented fanatical groups, the United States has a troubling uneven policy. On the one hand, groups such as Hamas and Al-Qaeda have been placed on the U.S. State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). On the other, the group that they originated from is mysteriously absent from the list. The following involves those groups mentioned already and their relation to a group located in America that has been allowed to exist for the past 36 years. It was written in hopes that those in power will find new reason to freeze the group’s funds and close it down.
Since its inception in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood (al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun) has spawned numerous radical movements around the globe, all charged with the responsibility of spreading Islam, whether by pen or by sword. Those born out of the Iqwan all have a single goal in mind – the creation of an Islamic world order.

One of the organizations birthed from the Muslim Brotherhood is Hamas (Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiyya) or the Islamic Resistance Movement. Founded in 1987 during the onset of the intifada – the violent uprising of the Palestinians perpetrated against Israel – the group targets innocent civilians by such deranged means as suicide bombings. Because Hamas is on the State Department’s list, a number of American groups have been shut down for financing it. They include KindHearts, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), and the Global Relief Foundation (GRF).

If it can be concluded that others have been financing Hamas from America, one can assume that they would be shut down as well.

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) was founded in 1971, via the Muslim Students Association (MSA), as an umbrella group for South Asian-oriented mosques and Islamic centers. It also contains a youth division called Young Muslims (YM), a multimedia division called Sound Vision, a web information center called Why Islam, a magazine called The Message International, and charities which go by the names ICNA Relief and Helping Hand.

When ICNA was created, it was to act as the American counterpart to the Muslim Brotherhood of Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). Indeed, if one looks at the web domain information for ICNA’s official website (as well as the site for Why Islam), he/she will find that the site is registered to farrukh.net, a former mirror (replica) site of JI’s media division. Today, farrukh.net is being used to showcase the works of Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Islahi, a Jamaat leader.

Further evidence of the connection between ICNA and JI is found in a July 2000 “Unity Meeting” that took place in New York between ICNA and its Baltimore-based rival, Jamaat al-Muslimeen. [pdf] Speaking for the side of ICNA, in his native language of Urdu, was none other than the President (Amir) of JI, Qazi Hussain Ahmad (who is still the head of JI). During the meeting, he stressed the need for “participation in Jihad;” he stated that “Islam must be translated into political dominance;” and he said that “the sword and the Quran go together…” His sharp rhetoric was not unusual, given his public support for the Taliban and his numerous get-togethers with Osama bin Laden.

While Ahmad’s communication with the head of Al-Qaeda is serious, his organization’s dealings with Hamas are much more damning. And ICNA’s involvement in this is apparent, as well.

Jamaat-e-Islami has a charity located in Karachi, Pakistan called the Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF). AKF touts its work in such fields as: education, health care, and distribution of medical and food supplies. But these worthy initiatives stand in sharp contrast to the group’s recent aid to Hamas.

On August 17, 2006, JI announced on its website that AKF had presented a check for six-million rupees (the equivalent of $99 thousand U.S.) to Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas. In addition, JI stated that it “delivered a special message” from JI President Ahmad to Mashaal. The announcement went on to say, “Khalid Meshaal thanked Pakistani nation for sending the donation to the Palestinian brethren in this hour of need. Hamas leader assured the delegation that struggling Palestinians will not relinquish their just Jihad and continue to wage it until the First Qibla [Jerusalem] is liberated from Zionist yoke.”

In order to provide money to Hamas, AKF had to raise it. So the question becomes where did it get the money from? The answer is on AKF’s website, where the charity lists its donors. ICNA Relief USA and ICNA Relief Canada are its two top donors. ICNA’s Helping Hand is also on the list. Additionally, the Al-Khidmat Welfare Society (AKWS), AKF’s sister organization, lists ICNA Relief and Helping Hand as “partner” organizations (along with their logos), out of a list of only three organizations, the final one being Muslim Aid UK, a London-based JI charity.

As stated in the beginning of this piece, providing material support to Hamas, a State Department designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, is illegal and has led to the closures of a number of American Muslim groups. Given the admission by Jamaat-e-Islami that it has provided significant funds to Hamas through its charity Al-Khidmat Foundation and given that ICNA, the American affiliate of JI, is the top donor of AKF, does that not conclude that ICNA should be shut down as well?

A Terrible Lie

By: Emanuel A. Winston, Mid East Analyst & Commentator

The descendants of Ishmael, through Mohammed, have been taught a terrible lie. They choose to ignore the fact that Ishmael was the half brother of Isaac, through Abraham. In this great lie, therefore, those who interpreted the writings of Mohammed, expanded on the story that, like Cain, the Muslims of the future were destined to kill their half-brothers out of Abraham. Through the centuries, this lie was further embellished well beyond teaching Muslims to murder their half-brothers (and sisters). The LIE was to induce Muslims to believe that by murdering their brother Jews through Abraham, that they would gain a glorious life-after-death.
Is this then what G-d expected of Cain when he too murdered his brother in a fit of jealousy? G-d marked Cain with a curse. Is this what the Mullahs wanted for the Muslim people - a permanent banishment from heaven?
But, the Mullahs told the people: "Kill and you will be rewarded in the heaven we will describe for you". Thus they appealed to the lower, base instincts of Muslims, that by murdering their brother, they would have great sexual pleasures denied to them on earth by those same Mullahs.
Virgins, sweets of the most choice. That which were denied to them by the Mullahs, would be available in rivers of wine and honey. All they had to do was murder their brothers through Abraham and Ishmael. if they killed themself while killing Jews, they would be holy martyrs and ascend to Muslim Paradise to sit next to Mohammed in Allah’s Courtyards.
What the Mullahs could not tell the Muslim people was that murder on earth - for any reason - brings a terrible curse. That instead of virgins and rivers of honey, wine and the sweets they were promised, would be a terrible darkness for the murder of his brother. They would have no glorious Heaven but a Hell of indescribable pain.
Around the world "Madrassahs" ("Wahhabi" Strict Muslim schools) were established to warp young minds, teaching them first to hate and then the benefits of murder/suicide while omitting that Heaven is not their destiny.
Year after year more lies were piled upon the earlier lies. Even the Mullahs could no longer tell the difference. Where in the tales of history was Ishmael’s half brother, Isaac, taught to kill their brothers and sisters who were the people of Ishmael.
G-d’s only allowance to kill, were those tribes who practiced human sacrifice to pagan gods, invented by the local priest cults. Here, too, it was the priest cults who benefitted the most as the people gave them the best foods, the greatest honors and always the young virgins. The priest became the interpreters of Allah’s will, despite their never having seen him. Abraham, the father of two peoples did speak with G-d and there were no instructions for the sons to kill each other. In fact, the main reason Abraham had to send Ishmael and his mother Hagar away was that Sarah saw Ishmael "playing" with Isaac but, when she saw Ishmael acting aggressively and threateningly toward Isaac. It seems clear that this was probably because he was jealous of Abraham’s intention to make Isaac his first and the son to father the coming descendant generations.
The "Tanach" (Bible) says that G-d tells Abraham that "through his son Isaac will offspring be considered yours. G-d also tells Abraham that also through the son of the slave-woman (Ishmael) wilI I make into a nation for he is your offspring." (1)
As the years passed, Mohammed made his appearance in the seventh century as a man of war who set out to convert others to Islam by the sword because the Koran mandates them to do so in order to create a global Caliphate where Islam dominates the world. After a time of conquest, Mohammed died in 632 C.E. many wished to be considered the heir and leader of Islam. Many created their own mystical interpretations of the Koran and various "Hadith" (Oral teachings).
Thus began a race to invent the most creative interpretations of the Koran’s meanings and become Mohammed’s natural heir. The ignorant masses loved the magic of the stories. The best, of course, was the promise of life-after-death but, only if they followed the fable of the last Mullah to teach what he believed.
But, the people liked the fable of getting in Allah’s heaven everything they wanted but were denied on earth.
All they had to do was, like Cain, kill their brother. Instead of a curse they would enjoy plenty. The young - how their eyes grew big after being told when they killed their brother, they would be honored, both in life and death as heroic warriors.
The Mullahs appealed to the worst instincts of men. They promised life-after-death, a life of glorious rewards. They promised immortality which not only removed the fear of death but made death by their murdering their brother to be desirable. How the young rush with open arms to greet death, especially if they could bring the head of their half-brother as an offering, a human sacrifice, to the Allah created by the Mullahs and Ayatollahs.
Was this the G-d of Abraham or was this Zin, the Moon god of the Mullahs, named Allah who wanted to rule the world but needed and obedient army of believers.
What happened to the G-d of Abraham? Would he have approved of another killing of brother by brother? This major error was ignored by the Mullahs, even though they later claimed that Abraham was born a Muslim.
Let this true story be published in Arabic and spread across the world of Islam. The Mullahs will ferociously deny that murder is wrong. They will quote their own writings to prove that Ishmael, the son of Abraham, would approve of killing his half-brother Isaac and all the generations that followed him. The Muslims will rage because it will pose the question: Can one kill his half brother or sister, plunder their belongings, loot - and then expect to be made immortal in the courtyards of Allah.

How Long Do We have?

And the last email archive for the night. And again, I don't give a damn what Snopes may or may not say about it so don't even bring it up.

How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."

"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury."

"From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years."

"During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage"

********************

Professor Joseph Olson
Hamline University School of Law
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2; Bush: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
********************
ANY QUESTIONS?

Pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom
