Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 01/27-02/03/2008

Trying to do a better job of keeping the round-ups current. Jay has had a lot to work with; go visit him at Stop the ACLU! and read the rest of what he's got.

Articles:
Which Candidate Can We Trust On Appointing Constitutionalist Judges?
Who will be the best candidate to trust on appointing conservative judges and standing up to the ACLU?
My argument against McCain, and for Romney.

Gitmo Terrorist Lawyers Endorse Obama
The terrorist lawyers at the CCR have decided to endorse Obama. I think that speaks volumes all by itself.

Edwards Drops Out
I'm thinking this helps Obama.

McCain Lies About Romney
This seems to be the buzz coming out of the debate. McCain's lies and how he dug in to defend the smear. It looked really bad, just like the scornful, hateful, short-fused McCain we know.
It will backfire.

Do or Die Time For Conservatives?
Has it come down to Romney or McCain? What horrible choices we have left. Lots of deep thoughts....and a second look at Huckabee?

Barack Obama, Kenya, His Cousin Odinga and islamic Jihad
My co-blogger put this together, and it is quite an eye-opener. A lot of Obama's Muslim background has been taken out of context, however...it shouldn't be ignored.

Who Will the Vice President Be?
My ponderings on possible ticket matchups.

Video:
McCain Sings Streisand; Rush Limbaugh Parody on McCain
A little humor while we await the Florida results. If you haven't seen this one before you will get a kick out of it.

Berkley, California Throws Out Marines; DeMint to Revoke City's Federal Funding
He is actually threatening to pull Berkeley's federal funding. War has been declared on the Code Pinkos!

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 01/13-01/26/2008

As usual, Jay has some incredible stuff over at Stop the ACLU! and this is just a small portion of it. Head over there and check out the rest of the articles! For a backlog of roundups, I've added an archive section entitled "Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundups"; if you've missed any of them in the past, you can scroll through the section and click on the articles you missed.

Articles:

Westboro Hate Cult to Picket at Slain Marine's Funeral
Yes, they continue to prove how evil they are. They will now picket at the funeral of the slain pregnant Marine the media has been talking about so much. Of course, its predictible, but still sick, sick, sick.

ACLU Defends Sex In A Public Restroom
Once again the ACLU twist reality to be completely backwards from common sense.

Fred Thompson Ends Bid for White House

ACLU Hypocrisy On Privacy
Constitutional lawyer, Hans Bader, submitted some interesting and extensive thoughts on the ACLU's latest defense of sex in a public restroom being a privacy right to our blog.

Hillary Takes Credit for Surge She Opposed

MR. RUSSERT: If General Petraeus says, "Senator, in September you called the surge the suspension of belief. It has worked, and you know it's worked"–let me finish–"you can see on the ground. I'm saying to you, Senator, or president-elect Clinton, don't destroy Iraq. It's working, the surge is working. Keep troops there just a few more months to get this reconciliation complete."

SEN. CLINTON: …The point of the surge was to quickly move the Iraqi government and Iraqi people. That is only now beginning to happen, and I believe in large measure because the Iraqi government, they watch us, they listen to us. I know very well that they follow everything that I say. And my commitment to begin withdrawing our troops in January of 2009 is a big factor, as it is with Senator Obama, Senator Edwards, those of us on the Democratic side. It is a big factor in pushing the Iraqi government to finally do what they should have been doing all along.

ACLU Celebrates 35 Years of Killing Babies
Here is a video that will make some people remember why they shouldn't sit out and need to vote against the Democrats this election.

Go visit Jay at the main sit here and Nedd at the Coalition site here. Good stuff and it will definitely open your eyes.

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 12/31/07-01/12/2008

I've gotten a little bit behind--family issues going on. However, Jay at Stop the ACLU! has been putting out some great articles. Go check out his site here for more articles!

Articles:

Supreme Court to Decide if Rape of a Child Merits Death
Comments?

ACLU Of Florida Join Moonbat Call for Bush Impeachment
Not surprising, but I wonder how long before the National ACLU join in with these moonbats?

ACLU Says: We Will Defend Voter Fraud All the Way to the Supreme Court
and even use someone engaged in voter fraud to do it!

Moonbats Arrested in ACLU Organized Protest of Guantanamo
Check out the video of orange suited moonbats getting arrested. Good stuff!

Videos:

Mike Huckabee Thinks Iowans are Stupid
Mike Huckabee's bizarro move of calling a press conference to announce a negative Romney ad, only to pull it claiming to be the nice guy, and that his soul wouldn't allow it. He then went on to show it to the media allowing them to show it for free. Do you think this was a sincere change of heart or a slimy move? How do you think most people will see it?

URGENT News From Stop the ACLU! Action IS Required

This email alert came to me the other day and is extremely important. I'm not putting it into the usual weekly round-up--this needs its own separate post. Read it through, follow the links, sign the petition and pass it around.

This pertains to an ACLU suit that we and others I have shared it with to be a very dangerous one with potentially serious risks to our national security as well as you and me. The story is from CNS News and is also linked from our commentary on this article which you can read here. Our article further links to another similar case the ACLU is involved in and provides extensive evidence through other link sources in the article how the ACLU may be doing grave harm to America by its actions of defending certain Muslims who have suspected ties to terrorist activities and persuading our courts to grant its wishes.

The average reader can see that getting an American court to release to the ACLU confidential documents that belong to highly vetted sources in
U.S. government is as risky as one gets. Given the ACLU's growing support and affiliations towards radical Islam and its assistance to terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, information we have more than adequately documented in our article, we firmly believe it is time for the United States Congress to subpoena the ACLU to Washington and hold hearings in conjunction with these matters without delay.

I encourage each of you to read the
CNS link, our story, and all the links in it as they provide compelling evidence of the urgent need for Congress to summon ACLU officers, lawyers and directors to Washington. And when you are finished and have come to the conclusion that the ACLU truly needs to be investigated when Congress returns, we want you to click here (also in the second to last paragraph in our piece) to read and sign the petition to Congressional leaders to act on this petition as soon as possible.

When you sign the online petition, you will be required to provide your zip code. We have set it up this way because we want to be able to track in a senator and Congressman’s district how many of their constituents are in support of this petition. Without the zip code, we cannot provide any numbers as to how many people in a certain district signed it. You do not, however, need to provide your street address.

If you wish to do more, you can copy and paste this petition in a Word or similar document and bring in person, mail or fax (we don't recommend e-mail for this occasion) to your elected officials in Congress and tell them directly how disturbed you are that the ACLU is allowed to get away with all its actions, how it is indeed a subversive organization putting America at risk and how you want them to use their legislative influences to get the subpoenas out to the ACLU without delay.

If you still want to do more, consider copying the same info you sent to your own Congressmen and
U.S. Senators to the House and Senate leaders, noted at the top of the petition, as well as the chairmen and minority leaders noted in the petition. The phone numbers and addresses are not on the petition page but can be located at this page as your current Congressmen and senators. While it is not usually useful to petition lawmakers not located in one's given district, this generally does not apply when it concerns leaders and members of a certain committee as such are in fact writing policy for other lawmakers as well as citizens throughout the country.

If you do not know who your Congressmen and senators how, again, this page has all the information you need to know to contact them.

Once you have signed this petition, we need you to do one more thing and that is forward this e-mail to everyone you know for their signatures (must be 18 or over). Post the link to the petition on message boards, forums, chat rooms and similar places. And if you run your own website or blog, please post a link to it there as well. We need this linked everyone. Please help get the word out today.

And if you have not signed our previous petition to Alberto Gonzalez and the U.S. Justice Dept., to investigate the ACLU for suspected criminal ties to the porno industry, we ask you to do so by clicking here. We fully realize that Mr. Gonzalez is no longer with the Justice Dept. but the petition still is valid as we will see to it that his replacement, Michael Mukasey, is fully apprised of our requests for them to take appropriate action against the ACLU and we will personally deliver them to his office if we can get a huge outpouring of responses.

Can everyone help in this matter? We want to get one million signatures for each petition. It's a Herculean task but one million signers is less than ½ of 1% of all the American people. If everyone gets this to 5 or 10 people and the effort is replicated over and over, we can do it.

We fully realize that Congress is not likely to act on such a petition of ours, which is fully in line with our 1st Amendment rights to petition for a redress of our grievances. We know that in an earlier era, Congress wouldn't even need to hear from us to take on the subversive ACLU; they would do so as a matter of principle.

But in this day and age and particularly with Democrats in control of Congress (and being the party of the ACLU as evidenced by the very high, if not perfect, scores of most Democrat lawmakers on the ACLU's scorecard), we must do everything possible to urge the U.S. Senate (scheduled to return on January 15th) and the House (scheduled to return on January 22nd) to do the bidding of the American people and help rein in the ACLU.

We would also like to get on as many radio and TV shows across the country and locally to urge their listeners to act on these petitions. We would likely start with well known national dislikers of the ACLU such as Michael Savage, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham.

If you are interested in urging these and others to speak about these petitions and/or have us on the air, we would greatly appreciate that. I don't have Ingraham's or Savage's e-mail addresses handy but we will post them in an update on our article on the Stop the ACLU website if we get correct ones. O’Reilly can be reached at oreilly@foxnews.com and Beck can be reached at me@glennbeck.com.

And if you believe in this effort and would like to assist financially, we would be so grateful. It will cost a lot of money to get this message out to sizable audiences out there but if you want to help us, then would you be so kind as visit www.paypal.com and make your gift to nedd@stoptheaclu.org? This operation has been struggling for a long time and we cannot continue our efforts and direct activism without some desperately needed cash infusions.

If everyone getting this message can do just a little, say $5 to $10, we can do a lot. Please help today if you can. However, if you are experiencing financial hardships, do not feel pressured to donate. We only want those who are able to do so to give today.

Thank you and God bless you.

All the Best in 2008,
Nedd Kareiva
Director

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 12/26-12/30/2007

A short "week" here--I cut off the last round-up mid-week. No less important, though, are the issues brought forward in these past few days from Jay over at Stop the ACLU!, particularly regarding the run-up to the Iowa caucus.

Articles:

Proposed Blogburst for Fred Thompson (from Rick Moran at Rightwing Nuthouse)

ACLU Spokesperson: Mike Huckabee a Nasty Boy
Yet another issue (gay marriage) that Mike can't stick to an answer with. I really didn't want to defend him, but this quote is ridiculous. This has gotta be the quote of the day.

As Rita Sklar of the ACLU says, "He is hardly ever outright nasty. But he is suggestively nasty." Either way you cut it, though, Mike Huckabee's a nasty boy.

So now, being against gay marriage is "nasty"? My how the definitions have changed.
Hey Iowa! Huckabee Makes the List of Top Ten Corrupt Politicians
Judicial Watch put out their top ten most wanted corrupt politicians list. Several presidential candidates made the list including Rudy and Huckabee.

Blogburst for Fred Thompson (a little late on my part, but better late than never)

This video of Bhutto saying Osama was murdered is definitely gonna make the conspiracy freaks go even more nuts. Anyway, this is the kind of stuff blogs were made for. Its definitely worth some discussion. Credit to Jawa

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 12/16-12/25/2007

More great finds from Jay at Stop the ACLU! and a new look as well! Spend some time checking out the new look and reading the other great articles there.

Articles:
Send the ACLU a Christmas Card (a yearly tradition--check the links in the article)
Its become a popular yearly tradition now to send the Anti-Christian Liars Union grinches a Christmas card. I personally think its ineffective, and that the money you waste on a stamp for the organization to toss in the shredder would be better served towards a good cause. So, I encourage you to save that money, dig a little deeper, and contribute to an organization that fights the ACLU and defends Christmas. The Alliance Defense Fund, and the ACLJ are both great organizations that defend Christmas each year. The Alliance Defense Fund does it for free. Why not help groups like that out this year?
ACLU Praise New Jersey's Ban on the Death Penalty
They actually claim to believe it is a shift in public opinion, though polls we have say something very different

Surrendercrats Surrender: Senate Approves War Funding
Democrats surrender on surrendering!

Oklahoma Attorney General Bans Christmas (Update: or not)
This is no joke. Oklahoma Attorney General, W.A. Drew Edmondson sent a directive to Southwestern Oklahoma State University telling them not to use the word Christmas. We are sending out a call to action to get people to call him and let him know just how ridiculous this is.

ACLU Upset Over Common Sense Ruling Denying Terror Advocate Visa
A common sense ruling denying a VISA for terror advocate, Tariq Ramadan, has the ACLU quite upset.

Are Conservatives Cracking Up?
I'd like to get some reactions to this. Can I get some comments?
Jim Geraghty wonders: on this question. I've put together my thoughts on it.

Huckabee's Pro-Life Principles Questionable
There is a whole lot of that comes into question with some shady fundraising that has been revealed. Some of the things while he was still governor....Huckabee used campaign funds to pay himself as his own media consultant. raked in tens of thousands of dollars in gifts, including gifts from people he later appointed to prestigious state commissions. Inauguration funds were used to buy clothing for his wife."

Most noteworthy however, is the $35,000 he accepted as a speaking fee from Novo Nordisk. He opposes embryonic stem-cell research, but guess what this company does? Stem cell research.
Rush vs. Huckabee Continues

Since I am late on covering the big Huck-up! Or as Michelle Malkin puts it, the Howard Dean moment....I have put together a HUGE list of reactions from other blogs.

Fred Thompson's Awesome Holiday Message
I'm haven't hiddent the fact that I'm a Thompson fan, but I think even those of you rooting for another candidate will agree that THIS is the most classy holiday message of ALL the candidates. Check it out.

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 12/09-12/15/2007

As always, Jay brings us some great stuff! Don't forget to go to the Stop the ACLU! site for all the great stuff this week!

Articles:
Huckabee Unaware of Issues Between U.S. And Cuba
Huckabee is starting to scare me. How could someone that is running for President be unaware of "issues" between the U.S. and Cuba?

Tax Hike for Christ Mike
Huckabee blames raising taxes on people not giving to charity.

"I'm often asked why taxes are so high and government is so big. It's because the faith we have in local churches has become so small. If we'd been doing what we should have — giving a dime from every dollar to help the widows, the orphans and the poor — we now wouldn't be giving nearly 50 cents of every dollar to a government that's doing … what we should have been doing all along."

Huckabee has a long record of raising taxes. The buck stops at his desk on that, but in a sense, he passes the blame back to the people. Perhaps we all should give our ten percent. But what Huckabee is saying here is that if we don't give it voluntarily, then the government will just take it from it from us for government crutch programs. After all, thats what Jesus would do. Right? This is the kind of stuff that feeds my fear that Huckabee would use the government to force his morality on all of us.

ACLU Disappointed: FISA Court Denies Access to Wiretap Records
Writing for the court, U.S. District Judge John Bates refused:

'The identification of targets and methods of surveillance would permit adversaries to evade surveillance, conceal their activities, and possibly mislead investigators through false information,' Bates said.
Of course a common sense ruling like this disappoints the ACLU.

Huckabee: Women Should Submit To Their Husbands
Its a literal interpretation from the Bible, but...maybe not the best statement to have to defend when women voters are already leaning towards Hillary.

ACLU Claims Religious Test "Proposed as a Necessary Qualification" for President
If you can't win your issue by the strength of your argument… then lie. Apparently that is the tactic of the ACLU if a recent "ACLU's Diary" entry on the DailyKos by T. Jeremy Gunn is any indication. With all the talk of religion surrounding the various candidates for the GOP nomination for president lately it has obviously been driving our ACLU Director of Freedom of Religion and Belief out of his gourd. (Though, one is excused for thinking that his title is a bit misleading for it should probably be a Freedom from Religion and Belief, but be that as it may…) Gunn goes off half cocked over the supposed forced imposition of religion on the campaign for president.

The lie concerns Mr. Gunn's shot at Romney claiming that he and others have created a new "religious test" as a qualification for a candidate in contravention to the Constitution.

Read the whole thing...Another thought, if the ACLU are not liberal...why do they only blog at liberal blogs?

The GOP Debate: Who Won?
Fortunately I missed the dull debate today. I would like to know who won though. I've gathered blogger reactions I could find, and found a lot that says Romney won and a lot that says Thompson won. Sounds like the debate faired the best for those two. I have put up a poll asking who won. If you got a chance to see the debate, please come over and give a vote to who you thought the winner was.

Fred Thompson Apologizes to Huckabee
Heh! Don't look now, but I think Fred is on a roll.

House Votes to Outlaw CIA Waterboarding
222 morons had rather have blood on their hands for following a moronic moral code that is politically popular than to do whats necessary to save lives when it comes down to it. No matter, this bills final fate ends with the President's veto pen. I have a feeling we will soon all be missing President Bush on some issue.

Judge Robert Bork Endorses Romney
I'm still a Thompson guy, but this is a pretty impressive endorsement.

Videos:

Democrats Vote Yes to Ramadan, But No to Christmas
If you haven't heard about this yet, you should inform your readers. 9 Democrats voted "NO" votes on a resolution to honor Christmas and the Christian faith. They voted yes in the past to honor Ramadan, an almost exact resolution. Of course there is no war on Christianity though... This has got to make the ACLU and CAIR super proud.

Fred Thompson Hands Down
Thompson is building up momentum from his performance at yesterday's debate.

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 12/02-12/08/2007

As Christmas gets closer, things are heating up. The Boy Scouts in Philadelphia are still under fire; Brazil refuses to extradite a suspected murderer of a soldier and Jay, as usual, has a lot of great stuff. Check out this week's round-up and go visit the main site for even more ACLU insanity.

Articles:

Newdow Challenges to Pledge and Motto to be Heard by 9th Circuit Tuesday
This time its a double whammy! Newdow Challenges to Pledge and Motto to Be Heard by 9th Circuit Tuesday. This guy just won't go away.

ADF will be fighting it.

In the complaint, the Plaintiffs allege that they "generally deny that God exists, and maintain that their constitutional and statutory rights are abridged when the school district Defendants participate in making the purely religious, Monotheistic claim that the United States is 'one nation under God.'" The Plaintiffs do acknowledge and stipulate that none of them are actually compelled to say the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. They feel that they are being coerced, though, to participate simply because the Pledge is being given with the phrase "under God" as mandated by Congress. The lawsuit also alleges that the Student-Plaintiffs have been "forced to confront the government's claim that this is one nation under God as their public school teachers have repeatedly led them and their classmates in reciting the now religious Pledge of Allegiance in their classroom and at school assemblies."

We are going to be filing an amicus brief on behalf of the ACLJ and our members around the country in response to this most recent attack on the Pledge of Allegiance. You can join our Committee to Protect "Under God" in the Pledge by clicking here. I have assembled a senior research team to put our brief together on behalf of your members and concerned citizens throughout the United States. We will keep you posted.

Philadelphia Boy Scouts Face Eviction Over Anti-Gay Policy
Wonder whats next for the militant homosexual agenda? Maybe kicking our troops off the military bases? Oh well, the Boy Scouts continue to stand by their principles. Why is the government charging this based on their exclusion of gays as discrimination and not girls? Perhaps they should start their own organization. The gay scouts. If they excluded straights I guarantee no one would complain.

The Philadelphia Boy Scouts could find themselves booted from their historic dowtown headquarters Monday unless a dispute with City Hall over the group's anti-gay policies is resolved.

The Cradle of Liberty Council—Philadelphia's Boy Scout chapter—has been housed in an historic building in downtown Philly for almost 80 years, paying almost nothing for the prime piece of proprety under the terms of a 100-year sweetheart lease it inked with the city in 1928. But that lease is set to expire, and city officials say the taxpayer's shouldn't be footing the Scouts rent bill because of it's national policy banning openly gay members and leaders. The Scouts must either pony up the fair market rent for the space—about $200,000 a year—or find a new home.

"If they want to accept the national policies of the Boy Scout organization they have to be able to pay for it," said Philadelphia City Councilman Jack Kelly.

According to a letter the Boy Scouts received from City Solicitor Rome Diaz, the Boy Scouts have until Dec. 3 to sign a new lease and start paying for the use of the property, or the city will find a new tennant and the scouts will be evicted.

Diaz, who is openly gay, refused FOX News' request for an interview.

Cradle of Liberty Council member John Braxton, a retired judge and former Eagle Scout, said the Scouts can't afford the steep rent increase. He said the Scouts' policy on gays is "don't ask, don't tell."

"I have known persons who have been gay within our scouting program," Braxton said. "We never ran them out. They're Eagle scouts, they're achievers, and what they do in their personal sexual life is not an issue within their scouting life," he said.

ACLU Official Acts Like an Idiot: Sues Claiming Racial Profiling
Here are the facts. He refuses to give ID after leaving and re-entering the terminal, then he's asked to leave the airport, again he refuses. That's the basis of his suit. In reality he's trying to stop the government from using racial profiling to stop terrorists from hijacking airplanes. The ACLU (again) fighting for the right to have terrorists attack us. Such a noble cause….

Fred Thompson: Whatever is Necessary
Compare this to Huckabee's view on waterboarding. From the Charlie Rose interview:
Thompson: I'm telling you, as President, if the lives of a bunch of American citizens were at stake and I thought that there was a good chance that an individual had information and could impart information that would help save those lives, I'm just saying, that I would do whatever is necessary to get that information from that person. I would authorize that. Whatever is necessary to save a number of American lives.

ACLU Calls on Fellow Moonbats to Wear Orange to Protest Gitmo
The ACLU sent this email out to their subscribers and members today. In protest of holding our captured enemies in prisons, the ACLU are calling on its members to donate and make a fashion statement. I wonder if Mike Huckabee will be wearing orange on January 11th.

My Concerns With Romney Have Nothing to do With His Religion

Schieffer: We Need to be Hearing About More Troops Dying in Iraq
Upset that immigration has been such an important issue focused on in the Republican debates, Schieffer shows his frustration. Instead he downplays current success in Iraq and expresses how he thinks we need to hear more about Americans dying in Iraq. Apparantly we haven't heard enough of that.

Huckabee Sides With ACLU on Gitmo Closing and Waterboarding

Utah Festival Organizers Reject Christmas Tree Honoring Troops
Utah's CBS Channel 2 (KUTV) reports festival chairwoman Edyth Hansen removed the tree from the main exhibit area because she said it was too tall — had more than one picture — and was not dedicated to children. Says Hansen — "Once you change the rules for one person you have change them for everyone."
However KUTV reports several trees still in the exhibit hall also feature multiple pictures, honor people other than children, and are of similar height to the soldiers' tree.

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 11/25-12/01/2007

I'm combining two things this week because they're both timely. First, of course, is the standard Stop the ACLU! Weekly Round-up from Jay here. Following the round-up is a little bit of help from the American Center for Law and Justice ("ACLJ") here, regarding your and your family's rights this Christmas season.

Articles:
Boston Wants to Ban Spanking
Nannystating at its core definition. Boston wants Mass to be first! I can only ask what the h**l is wrong with these people? There was a time when an unruly child got paddled when they misbehaved. Over the last couple of decades that has been set aside in favor of "time outs" and other such "punishments" that don't really work. What do we have to show for it? Unruly children terrorizing teachers across the land, falling test scores and disrespectful children.

Kucinich and Ron Paul Ticket?
Kucinich is actually suggesting his hopes for this. Wouldn't this be a sign of the apocalypse if it happens?

"Christ" Taken Out of Christmas Festival
Just another casuality in the war. Thanks to political correctness and groups like the ACLU. Chipping away at the core.

The traditional Dickens Christmas Festival has been re-named the Dickens Holiday Festival so the city can advertise in local schools.

In order to get more bang for their buck out of a thinning advertisement budget, the organization wants to put fliers in schools. For that to happen, the word "Christmas" had to be removed.

Downtown Development Coordinator Michelle Sponseller said many people are unhappy with the change.

"We changed the name this year for the schools because we wanted to advertise in the school brochures and the schools have a list of words you can't use like Santa, Christmas and Nativity. So did a brochure for the schools and we took those words out."

Hillary Plant in Republican CNN YouTube Debate?
It is basically confirmed. Of course, not admitted, but much that wasn't disclosed on this guy. He member of the Hillary Clinton campaign

Report: Guiliani's Mistress Used N.Y. Police as Taxi Service
Hopefully I don't make any enemies with this one, or accusations of eating my own, but I'm not a Rudy fan and don't look at him as one of our own anyway. I really don't understand why I'm not seeing more conservative blogs comment on this. Rudy's explanations are shabby, and don't even answer the accusations that his mistress had her own taxi service with the Police. It will be of interest to me to hear his explanations to the charges. Innocent until proven guilty. However, I think he is wrong that this will not hurt him. I've put up my opinion on this.

The ACLU Thinks This Is An Endorsement?
Seriously, the ACLU just put out a snarky press release thanking Mitt Romney for recognizing their work. It full of sarcasm, and while I'm not a big Romney fan, he just scored points with me by getting a personal attack from the ACLU.

Rudy Guiliani Should Not Be the Republican Nominee; He Really Shouldn't Even Call Himself Republican
I'm having a hard time understanding why the most liberal contender is getting so much support. I'm having a hard time understanding those that say he is the only one that can beat Hillary. He is on the opposite side of almost every conservative issue. If he were to be president it would be a backwards step for the conservative movement. It is about more than just beating Hillary. Its about beating back liberalism. The only thing that can do that is conservative values and principles being incorporated. That isn't gonna happen if Rudy Giuliani gets elected. Hopefully anyone supporting Rudy on the false premise that he is the only candidate that can beat Hillary will wake up and come back to core principles of conservatism. Thats really the only thing that can win in the end.

New York Times Hopes for SCOTUS Gun Grab
The "paper of record" once again makes like a broken record with another prosaic call to take away guns from the average American. The New York Times again displays its complete disregard of the Constitution in an editorial titled, "The Court and the Second Amendment", claiming our founding law is out of date and doesn't "confront modern-day reality." In another editorial filled with extreme language, untrue definitions and arrogance, and cementing its reputation against self-defense and American principles, the Times addressed the recent decision by the Supreme Court to soon take on the DC Gun banning reversal case. Hitting all its best low notes and filled with propaganda laced verbiage, the Times again made the case that you, Mr. and Mrs. America, are too stupid and filled with bloodlust to be trusted with a firearm… quite despite that musty, stupid old, out of date Constitution thingie.

Jay Sekulow at ACLJ has set up some guidelines for us during this Christmas season. Follow the links and contact the ACLJ if you run into any legal issues this season!

Your personal, constitutional rights are important to me and the staff at ACLJ.

We want to make sure you are fully aware of what is permissible when it comes to celebrating the Christmas holiday according to your religious beliefs.

With this in mind, we have prepared an online Christmas Resource Center that I invite you to visit right now.

There, you will find answers - clearly spelled out - to the most common questions we receive this time of year regarding your legal rights.

We have also prepared and posted legal guidelines outlining the proper way for students to express their religious beliefs in school during this holiday season.

I encourage you to visit this valuable online Christmas Resource Center and know your rights ... and the rights of your children or grandchildren ... when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

If you encounter any hostility or have further questions about your rights, contact the ACLJ at 757-226-2489.

God bless you and Merry Christmas!

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 11/18-11/24/2007

A little late with the roundup due to the holidays; as usual, Jay at Stop the ACLU! has some excellent articles about the insanity that is the ACLU.

Articles:

Why No Push for Duncan Hunter?
This is a question that has been running through my brain for a little while now. I finally published my thoughts on it, and would like to get other input.

"Get Osama" is Prohibited Speech in New York (of All Places)!
Apparantely patriotic speech expressing the hope that we defeat our enemy falls under the category of derogatory twoards another religion and therefore isn't as protected in New York. Think we could get the ACLU on this case?

Feds Teach Firefighters to Spot Terrorists, ACLU NOT Happy!
As usual, the ACLU are up and arms over firefighters being used as lookouts for terrorism. They pull out their usual disgusting "privacy concern" card.
Firefighters in major cities are being trained to take on a new role as lookouts for terrorism, raising concerns of eroding their standing as American icons and infringing on people's privacy.

Unlike police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel don't need warrants to access hundreds of thousands of homes and buildings each year, putting them in a position to spot behavior that could indicate terrorist activity or planning.

But there are fears that they could lose the faith of a skeptical public by becoming the eyes of the government, looking for suspicious items such as building blueprints or bomb-making manuals or materials.

Yet another chapter in the ACLU's war against the Gideons. They are definitley splitting hairs on this one.

Ron Paul on the Issue of Medical Marijuana
Remember when Mitt Romney walked away from the medical marijuana patient in the wheelchair? Don't get me wrong, Mitt answered the kid's question and went on to being a politician. It did come across kinda cold though. Anyway, that kid seems to be making his rounds to other candidates. He asked a similar question to Ron Paul, who had quite a different answer and reaction.

Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 11/11-11/17/2007

Some excellent articles and videos once again from Jay at Stop the ACLU! I'm going to include Jay's short synopsis with each link; it will give you an idea of what each article/video is about. This site is absolute MUST reading to keep America free from the nanny state/political correctness nonsense the left so badly wants to impose on the rest of us. Do yourself a favor--read these articles, visit Stop the ACLU! and learn to protect yourself from this cancer. What I publish here are only a few of the incredible articles at the site--spend time there and learn.

Articles:

I guess after all those years of criticism, they deserve a pat on the back for finally doing the right thing. Also, please feel free to use this post like an open trackback to promote your own Veteran's Day posts.

Nutroots Turn on Obama
Very interesting turn of events. Obama tells his very liberal plan of raising taxes to fix social security and the nutroots go beserk! Of course, social security is not in a crisis! This is only a lie from the rightwing and now Obama is helping spread the lie! It is classic nuttiness from the left as they slaughter their own.

PBS Telling Teachers to Violate First Amendment?
Airing on PBS tonight at 8 p.m. is "Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial", a two hour documentary that tells the story of the Dover case. The ACLU are super-excited!
I won't know how objective the documetary itself is until I watch it, however a recent move by PBS has one group up in arms:

A packet for educators issued by the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) in conjunction with the NOVA program "Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial" encourages teaching practices that are probably unconstitutional, a conservative organization stated on Tuesday.

"The NOVA/PBS teaching guide encourages the injection of religion into classroom teaching about evolution in a way that likely would violate current Supreme Court precedents about the First Amendment's Establishment Clause," said John West, vice president for public policy and legal affairs at the Discovery Institute, in a news release.

The 22-page document is a companion piece to the two-hour NOVA docudrama, "Judgment Day," airing on most network affiliates Tuesday night. The film is about a trial concerning intelligent design that took place in Dover, Pa., in 2005.

The guide claims to provide teachers with "easily digestible information to guide and support you in facing challenges to evolution."

In the booklet, teachers are instructed to use such discussion questions as: "Can you accept evolution and still believe in religion?" The answer to that query is provided as: "Yes. The common view that evolution is inherently antirelig

ious is simply false."

All Military Components Meet, Exceed Recruiting Goals
Since the mainstream media are bound to either ignore or spin this some way, I thought that maybe a few blogs might help spread the news

The first month of fiscal 2008 was a success for all active and reserve military components.

In a meeting with Pentagon reporters today, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said all components met or exceeded their recruiting goals for October.

On the active-duty side, the Army made 101 percent of its goal of 4,500, with 4,564 recruits. The Navy made 100 percent of its goal of 2,788 recruits. The Marine Corps made 102 percent of its goal of 2,720, with 2,788 enlisting. The Air Force made 100 percent of its goal of 2,656.

Boy Scouts Accused of Being Too Pro-War
Outrageous! A troop of Boy Scouts try to raise donations for the troops. Some liberal cries that the message is too pro-war. The city removes the donation boxes! I've got a report and video.

In regards to the above video regarding the Boy Scouts, Move America Forward also has information. Below is their action alert regarding this ridiculous idiocy.

An action alert from Move America Forward - www.MoveAmericaForward.org - please pass this on to others !

SHAME ON THIS WOMAN:

FOR SHUTING DOWN THE BOY SCOUTS

EFFORTS TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Meet Marsha Weinerman, a city official from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

She's made news recently because she decided to shut down the Boy Scouts care package collection boxes. You see, the Boy Scouts were sending care packages for our troops to enjoy at the holidays. But Marsha Weinerman said the Boy Scouts actions are 'too pro-war' and ordered law enforcement to remove the care package collection boxes.

The Boy Scout's troop leader is outraged:

"We have never seen anything like this decision in Cambridge before,” Patterson wrote. The city is changing for the worse if decisions like this are allowed to be made."

Contact Ms. Weinerman and let her know that it is our troops' service that protects the rights of all Americans - including our freedom to vote:

mWeinerman@cambridgema.gov

Or call Ms. Weinerman's office at:
(617) 349-4363

You can show up Ms. Weinerman and those opposed to our troops by sponsoring a Christmas/holiday care package for our troops – and we’ll be more than happy to send it over to Iraq and Afghanistan with love and appreciation:

  • In war as in life, it is often necessary when some cherished scheme has failed, to take up the best alternative open, and if so, it is folly not to work for it with all your might.
  • It is no use saying, 'We are doing our best.' You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.
  • Moral of the Work. In war: resolution. In defeat: defiance. In victory: magnanimity. In peace: goodwill.

  • Never, never, never give up.
  • No folly is more costly than the folly of intolerant idealism.
  • One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!
  • Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

  • Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have.
