Stop the ACLU! Weekly Roundup 11/18-11/24/2007
A little late with the roundup due to the holidays; as usual, Jay at Stop the ACLU! has some excellent articles about the insanity that is the ACLU.
Articles:
Why No Push for Duncan Hunter?
This is a question that has been running through my brain for a little while now. I finally published my thoughts on it, and would like to get other input.
"Get Osama" is Prohibited Speech in New York (of All Places)!
Apparantely patriotic speech expressing the hope that we defeat our enemy falls under the category of derogatory twoards another religion and therefore isn't as protected in New York. Think we could get the ACLU on this case?
Feds Teach Firefighters to Spot Terrorists, ACLU NOT Happy!
As usual, the ACLU are up and arms over firefighters being used as lookouts for terrorism. They pull out their usual disgusting "privacy concern" card.
Firefighters in major cities are being trained to take on a new role as lookouts for terrorism, raising concerns of eroding their standing as American icons and infringing on people's privacy.
Unlike police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel don't need warrants to access hundreds of thousands of homes and buildings each year, putting them in a position to spot behavior that could indicate terrorist activity or planning.
But there are fears that they could lose the faith of a skeptical public by becoming the eyes of the government, looking for suspicious items such as building blueprints or bomb-making manuals or materials.
ACLU Halts Bible Donations in North Carolina Elementary Schools
Yet another chapter in the ACLU's war against the Gideons. They are definitley splitting hairs on this one.
Ron Paul on the Issue of Medical Marijuana
Remember when Mitt Romney walked away from the medical marijuana patient in the wheelchair? Don't get me wrong, Mitt answered the kid's question and went on to being a politician. It did come across kinda cold though. Anyway, that kid seems to be making his rounds to other candidates. He asked a similar question to Ron Paul, who had quite a different answer and reaction.
