USS Cole-The Anniversary the Media Ignores
October 12, 2000. The guided missile destroyer USS Cole was attacked by islamic jihadists. Seventeen American sailors dead; thirty-nine injured. Not one mention of it in today's MSM.
My suspicions why? Because it occurred on Clinton's watch--and he did nothing. Which emboldened the jihadists further. An act of war--and not a damn thing done about it and nothing mentioned today. After all, the left is so enamored of morons Clinton and Gore--and Clinton's wife is a presidential candidate, so of course nothing will be said to show how soft she and her husband are on national security and defense.
According to NewsBusters:
This eventually led to al-Quaeda and its allies decided to attack the Twin Towers in 2001. Unfortunately for them, President George W. Bush took a different view, correctly deciding to respond with military force. Since 2001, there have been no further successful atttacks on American soil, though we remain engaged in a military offensive against the Islamic terrorists. And:
Does our media not care? They are assiduous in reporting deaths of Muslims at the hands of Americans- even when those deaths did not occur, or when those killed were actually terrorists (see Haditha). Yet the anniversary of an unprovoked attack on a US warship that resulted in the deaths of American military personnel does not even warrant a mention on the anniversary. I can only gather that to the US media, Muslim terrorist lives are more important than American military lives. From Wikipedia:
The attack, organized and directed by Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist organization, was carried out by suicide bombers Ibrahim al-Thawr and Abdullah al-MisawaSeventeen dead; thirty nine injured. Clinton in office and a coward. And 9/11 less than a year later. These sailors deserve better; our country deserves better. Remember those who served on the USS Cole. Forget about the fake Nobel and Brittany Spears.
Remember the USS Cole and her men.
