Exclusive: Mojave Desert War Memorial Stolen - $100,000 Reward Offered
Just weeks after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing the Mojave Desert War Memorial to stay in the Mojave National Preserve, the seven-foot monument was stolen. During the night on Sunday, May 9th, vandals cut through the metal bolts holding the metal pipe cross to the top of the memorial’s Sunrise Rock and carried it away. There is, of course, speculation that someone who disagreed with the SCOTUS ruling is responsible for the theft.
