Know Thine Enemy-Part 2

Know Thine Enemy

[Second in a series.]

Religion of peace??

Islam has theology, prayer and ritual; it prescribes rules for social interaction among believers. So it must be a religion. Not so fast, an important factor is being overlooked: the religious trappings are a sham; they are not Islam's number one priority. What is?

Examine the title of the Qur'an's 8th Surah: Al-Anfal. What does it mean? Some translate it as bounties; others as windfalls. At USC, they are honest about it: AL-ANFAL (SPOILS OF WAR, BOOTY) . Whatever could that be about? What has a 'religion of peace' to do with spoils of war? Lets examine the first verse. [Emphasis added.]

8:1. They ask you (O Muhammad) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allâh and the Messenger." So fear Allâh and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad), if you are believers.

Who would ask? Could it be Muhammad's excellent companions? Could they have demanded a share? Could Muhammad have been hogging the booty? Matters of difference? 'Mo, he got more than I did; unfair!'. In the end, kvetching about the division of booty is a sign of disbelief. For any remaining doubters, I present links to Ibn Kathir's Tafsir.

Wow! Big deal! One insignificant little mention of spoils and the whole religion is spoiled. Yeah, right.

8:67. It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allâh desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Besides sanctifying genocide & making it a prerequisite to ransom, this ayat tells us what the two main parties want:

Allah wants great slaughter, which is how Muhammad is to earn admission to Paradise.
Muhammad wants spoils.

9:34. O you who believe! Verily, there are many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks who devour the wealth of mankind in falsehood, and hinder (them) from the Way of Allâh (i.e. Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism). And those who hoard up gold and silver [Al-Kanz: the money, the Zakât of which has not been paid], and spend it not in the Way of Allâh, -announce unto them a painful torment.

You won't find the translator's comment which I have italicized italicized in the other translations. It is obvious that Muhammad is setting up pretexts for making war on the Jews & Christians as commanded in 9:29. Al-Kanz is another tip off of Muhammad's true motivation. Once again, I refer you to Ibn Kathir: Torment of Those Who hoard Gold and Silver.

33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.
33:27. And He caused you to inherit their lands, and their houses, and their riches, and a land which you had not trodden (before). And Allâh is Able to do all things.

33:26 is a clear illustration of the use of terrorism. 33:27 shows us the results, which was the objective and which is Islam's purpose: enriching & empowering Muhammad through piracy.

48:19. And abundant spoils that they will capture. And Allâh is Ever All-Mighty, All-Wise.
48:20. Allâh has promised you abundant spoils that you will capture, and He has hastened for you this, and He has restrained the hands of men from you, that it may be a sign for the believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path.
48:21. And other (victories and much booty there are, He promises you) which are not yet within your power, indeed Allâh compasses them, And Allâh is Ever Able to do all things.

"Abundant spoils"! [You can say that again.] Allah promised, and victories. 'Religion' of booty! Let us delve into relevant hadith.

Muslim Book 019, Number 4327:
The spoils of war were not made lawful for any people before us, This is because Allah saw our weakness and humility and made them lawful for us.

How much humility did Allah see?

Bukhari Ch 61 # 2756: ...It is mentioned from Ibn 'Umar from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "My provision has been placed under the shadow of my spear, and abasement and humility have been placed on the one who disobeys my command.

Are you blinded by the brilliance of Muhammad's humility? Me neither. Apparently Allah has a keen eye for good men.

Command? What did Muhammad command his generals in the field? Muslim Book 019, Number 4294 is revealing.

Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah.
Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah.
Make a holy war,
do not embezzle the spoils;
do not break your pledge
do not mutilate (the dead) bodies
do not kill the children
Invite them to (accept) Islam
Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of Muhairs
If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya.
If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them...

Is there some legitimate reason for the Prophet of a great 'religion of peace' to send men out to war against disbelievers? Is there some legitimate reason for him to command them not to embezzle the spoils?

Yes, this is a long post, but we are not done yet; there is more.

Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).

Mohammad won by scaring his victims. Can you recognize terrorism when you see it? He received the keys of the treasures of the world. Allah owns the world and everything therein contained, and he gave the treasures to Muhammad! How generous! What is this 'religion' about exactly?

Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 267:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Khosrau will be ruined, and there will be no Khosrau after him, and Caesar will surely be ruined and there will be no Caesar after him, and you will spend their treasures in Allah's Cause." He called, "War is deceit'.

Spending the treasures of Constantinople & Persia in Jihad: reinvesting them to get more booty. Islam is not about theology. Islam is not about spirituality. Islam is not about charity and good works. Islam is about rape, pillage and plunder; and the greatest of these is plunder!
