By now, my regular readers know I have a special place in my heart for combat medics. You also know well that my heart always goes out to the children that our troops care for - and nurture - every day they are "over there."

This story encompasses both elements and is from a site that I found a while back, and have been meaning to share with you all:

Transporting a child

I have been in emergency medicine a long time. I have seen a lot of things that would give most second thoughts about humanity as a whole. However, the patients that have bothered me most over they years have always been the children. I have witnessed some horrible things done to children in my tenure, including using them as shields.

We received a medevac for a child with burns. The first thing asked following the basic report was not whether or not the child was ready for transport, but whether this was another burn to the groin and abdomen. It was not the first, nor would it be that last of this particular injury we have seen. The child, about 7, had been burned upon her abdomen, groin, and thighs by hot water from a stove. She had dressings covering all the areas burned and had been given medicine to help with the terrible pain. She was wrapped in a blanket, had an IV, and a multitude of wires for the monitor coming from her body. She was stable, scared, and worried about flying so far away from her family. She didn’t speak English, of course, but was quite aware that people were talking about her. She had never been in a helicopter, and I am sure the only ones she had seen were assault aircraft with troops on board. She had an “uncle” to go with her to the hospital.

The back story that was quickly related was that one of her parents had become angry at the other and thrown the boiling water on the child in retribution. This was to keep the child from reproducing children to carry on the family line. I don’t know exactly how accurate that was as it was relayed through family and interpreters, but the location of the injury led credence to the story. That, and this was not the first case we had seen....

Of course, you will not find this story, or the background issues which led to it, in the msm. BUT we know that every single day our troops - including our medics - serve in ways that never make front page news.

Now I've Seen Everything!

This one has to go into the record books for one of the dumbest criminals ever. There is no other term to use.

A high-ranking white supremacist on the run from US federal authorities was arrested on Monday night in a south Tel Aviv hideout.

33-year-old Micky Louis Mayon, one of America's 100 Most Wanted criminals, and a member of the Ku Klux Klan, was arrested in a Florentine apartment by the National Immigration Authority's newly formed Oz enforcement unit.

Mayon is wanted in the US on charges of racist assaults, setting fire to vehicles belonging to federal agents, and a host of violence incidents.

The Oz unit was acting on intelligence relayed by Interpol, which informed authorities here that Mayon had entered Israel illegally.

He is said to have moved apartments often in order to evade police, but his efforts proved fruitless on Monday when a delicate operation by the Oz unit saw officers break into his hideout and arrest him.

Oz unit members have the powers of a police officer but can only use them in cases of illegal entry into the country.

Mayon was the subject of an American arrest operation in November 2007, but officers soon realized he had flown to Israel on a one-way ticket. Earlier that year, he reportedly fired his gun in the air repeatedly after being involved in an argument with an African-American. US authorities have described him as a dangerous fugitive.

Oz Unit head Tziki Sela said Mayon was surprised to be arrested, but cooperated with the officers. He has been transferred to a Holon jail facility, where he underwent an immigration hearing. He was then taken to an Israel Prison Authority jail facility.

Did he really believe he could pass in Tel Aviv as a Jew or a Zionist? What made him think that he would be safe and secure in Israel?

Maybe Israel will become the new haven for criminals and their like. One day the Israel Oz unit could be apprehending such notables as Osama bin Ladan, the heads of Hamas and Hizbollah, and Ahmadinejad when the people of Iran finally kick him out.

The Sessions andt. gives E-Verify permanent authorization, removing it from the chopping block where it currently awaits extinction. It mandates that a company with a federal contract must screen all new hires through E-Verify. It also mandates that all people working on the gov't. contract must be verified.

The Demint amdt. requires completion of the 700-mile fence along the Mexican border by the end of 2010.

The Vitter amdt. activates a no-match notification system that informs employers of employees whose Social Security numbers do not match their records.

The Grassley amdt allows businesses to voluntarily run all existing employees through E-Verify.

Each of those vital amendments will be stripped from the bill in the reconciliation process unless we apply extreme pressure. The first step is to sign the petition. The second step is to exhort your friends to sign. The third step is to send a strongly worded email to your Representative & Senators exhorting them to support the amendments.

Similar provisions were placed in the House Stimulus bill last fall and secretly removed in the reconciliation committee. We must prevent that from happening again.

Islam in Action

The video embedded here was recorded at a recent Islamic Festival held in Dearborn, Michigan. In it you will see and hear Muslims assaulting and attempting to intimidate a Christian. Observe their expressions and gestures; hear their words and experience Islamic supremacism, triumphalism and arrogance. As their numbers increase, their attitude will intensify. The video was posted to You Tube by Act! For America.


The video has a ten minute run time and is 23MB. If, like me, you are limited to a dial- up cconnection, you will need to download it. For that you will need Firefox or Flock, with DWHelper; you will also need Irfanview to play the flv file.

The video centers around the Islamic response to Christians who wanted to discuss a pamphlet distributed by Muslims at a booth in the festival. The pamphlet's title was "Uprooting the Forces of Evil:: Islam's War on Terrorism". The pamphlet is available on the web as a pdf file at http://www.islaam.ca/downloads/islamswaronterror.pdf.

A critical examination of the pamphlet will explain their reluctance to have a Dialogue about it. The pamphlet is in question/answer format.

• Are these indiscriminate bombings, such as what occurred in the US, London and Madrid, Islamically justifiable?
• Islam unequivocally prohibits the likes of these horrendous acts and does not condone this awful behavior. Look at what Allah says, in the Quran, about those who kill innocent people.
• "It would be as if he killed the whole of mankind; and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the whole of mankind."(Al-Ma'idah: 32)
• Prophet Muhammad- may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him-s stressed the prohibition of killing women and children on many occasions, even at times of war:
• Abu Bakr; the Prophet's closest disciple said :Do not kill women or children or a senile person, do not cut down fruit-bearing trees and do not destroy an inhabited place."
• Therefore, this behavior can never be justified in any way, shape or form.

The polemicist quotes 5:32, but completely ignores the verse which follows it, which has a bearing upon the definition of innocent.

5:33. The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.

I have added emphasis to the most critical parts of that ayeh. We must focus our attention upon one key phrase: wage war against Allah; what does it mean?
The answer is contained in Ibn Kathir's Tafsir:

[...]`Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways. [...]

Waging war against Allah and his Messnger consists of opposing and contradicting Islam and it includes three parallel sub elements:

1. disbelief
2. blocking roads
3. spreading fear.

If you do not believe in Allah, and fully submit to him, then you are not innocent; you may be killed with impunity because you are at war against Allah and his Messenger.

Whenever a Muslim speaks or writes about the prohibition of killing innocent people, he practices kitman: lying by omission. In so doing, he relies upon your assumption that he shares your definition of innocent. He does not; In the Muslim world view, only Muslims are innocent.

By the same token, we are expected to assume that the prohibition on killing women and children is based upon moral principles. It is not! The prohibition is economic, not moral. Kuffar women and children are economic assets for their captors. Examine Allah's word..

33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.

Note the italicized phrase: whom did they make captives? Once again, the answer is provided by Ibn Kathir.

[...]Those who were killed were their warriors, and the prisoners were their children and women.[...]

What is the disposition of captive women and children? We learn from Shari'ah that they become slaves by reason of capture. Examine this quote from Reliance of the Traveller.

O9.13 When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman's previous marriage is immediately annulled.

This hadith will clarify the matter for you; it should also fill you with disgust.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 459:

Narrated Ibn Muhairiz:

I entered the Mosque and saw Abu Said Al-Khudri and sat beside him and asked him about Al-Azl (i.e. coitus interruptus). Abu Said said, "We went out with Allah's Apostle for the Ghazwa of Banu Al-Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus. So when we intended to do coitus interrupt us, we said, 'How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah's Apostle who is present among us?" We asked (him) about it and he said, 'It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist."

They received captives. Captive women were distributed as part of the spoils. Moe gave his companions permission to rape those women.

After The Smoke Has Gone

Oh my God! That's what they all say. Oh my God! Oh my God! After a lifetime of denial or indifference suddenly one finds faith. Oh my God! Confronted with the enormity of evil and the certainty of death, when no one else will answer, when no one else will do, we make our final desperate plea to our mysterious disregarded father. We are experiencing an epiphany, a sudden suspension of disbelief. And we all say the same thing, don't we? Sooner or later we all say the same thing.

Last night I watched them fall again. I watched the buildings fall. Why now, why, when confronted with the certainty of my own demise am I drawn once again to pay homage to this ghastly funeral pyre? Why resurrect the pain? The awful deed has been done. The smoke has cleared. Why do I feel this almost sacred need to relive it? Perhaps it is because of that dramatic and unequivocal title, which I suspect is somehow false and inappropriate: "102 Minutes That Changed America". Perhaps it is because I fear that America has not really changed. Not really. Not enough. The awful deed has been done. The smoke has cleared. And we have moved on. Life must go on, we tell ourselves. Once again we have withdrawn into the convenient comfort of our intellectual hubris. We have assigned the great event to history, where it sits unobtrusively on the shelf with all of those other omnipotent but disregarded historical events. And we have moved on.

But have our enemies moved on? Have our enemies forgotten us? Abandoned their murderous mission? Or are they patiently waiting for us to forget them? Counting on our notoriously short attention span? Do they know us better than we know them? Than we know ourselves? Has our anger and our fear dissipated with the smoke?

Here, once again, for those who doubt our mortal peril, we revisit the awful event. Can we still cry? Can we still call out, Oh my God!? - rg

we're just making everything...

worse.

And sometimes it does seem...












as though every day...

hate us.

ignored it...

or...

maybe if we..

just lit a candle...

if we lit a whole bunch of candles...

we could drive away the darkness.
