Power to the People at Work

I mentioned in the Friday Potpourri (March 30, 2007) about the six MN imams trying to sue the passengers that reported their suspicious activity prior to and immediately after boarding a US Air flight in November, 2006. Brigitte Gabriel (author of "Because They Hate"), at American Congress for Truth, sent out an action alert to protect these people. From that, we got Michelle Malkin's already classic "I Am John Doe". Rep. Pearce quickly drew up HR 1640 to protect AMERICAN CITIZENS from being sued from this intimidation tactic, the language was included in Rep. Schuster's HR 1401 and the bill passed the House with the overwhelming vote of 304-121. Yes, 121 of YOUR REPRESENTATIVES voted AGAINST protecting AMERICAN CITIZENS from terrorist intimidation tactics.

Here's the email I received from Ms. Gabriel regarding the passage of this bill:

Protecting John Doe bill passed

Thanks to the thousands of you who acted immediately after receiving our action alert, by writing and calling your elected officials nationwide. Your calls, emails and faxes have swamped our elected officials and your action paid off. This is the power of people being informed and coming together, as one voice to take action in a timely manner. I cannot be more proud and honored to have such an active membership. Thank you for your involvement and your activism.

The language for HR1640 was put into Rep. Shuster's bill HR1401. Rep. Pearce's leadership on this issue was central to this language being put into HR1401 which passed the House overwhelmingly by a vote of 304 to121.

"This is a big victory for all Americans," Shuster said. "No American should ever be sued because they tried to stop a terrorist act. No American should be forced to second guess a decision to alert authorities that could save the lives of others."

The Republican motion to recommit H.R. 1401, the Rail and Public Transportation Security Act of 2007, provides that any person who makes a voluntary disclosure regarding suspicious activity that constitutes a possible threat to transportation security to appropriate security and law enforcement authorities shall be immune from civil liability for such disclosure.

The amendment protects any such disclosure relating to threats to transportation systems, passenger safety or security, or possible acts of terrorism.

The amendment also shields transportation systems and employees that take reasonable actions to mitigate perceived threats.

The amendment is retroactive to activities that took place on or after November 20, 2006 - the date of the Minneapolis incident involving six Islamic leaders who were removed from a U.S. Airways flight after they were observed acting suspiciously.

Finally, the motion authorizes courts to award attorneys fees to defendants with immunity. To find out the list of those who voted for the bill and against click here.

It is so vitally important that we tell our elected representatives exactly what we think about legislation that will protect America.

Without concerned citizens like you, American Congress for Truth would not be able to make a difference for our nation's security. We at ACT are dedicated to informing and empowering Americans to make a difference in protecting our country from evil and those who wish to do us harm.

Thank you for your activism and patriotism. Thank you for helping me protect America , the dream that became my address.

Let my nation rise.

Brigitte Gabriel

IT WORKS, PEOPLE...LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD AND QUITE BEING PART OF THE PROBLEM BY BEING PART OF THE SILENT MAJORITY!

Terrorists Targeting Student: The Kids are NOT Allright!

This barely rated a mention on the MSM! Our children are in danger and they don't want us to know. This article comes from Marc Sheppard at American Thinker; the link is here: http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/03/terrorists_targeting_students.html

The story is here:

Terrorists Targeting Students: The Kids are not Alright
By
Marc Sheppard

Just months after 9/11, videotapes were confiscated in Afghanistan showing al-Qaeda terrorists training to takeover a school. Six months later, spokesman Suleiman Abu Gheith boldly declared al-Qaeda's "right" to kill 2 million American children. In 2004, an Iraqi national with known terrorist connections was caught with a computer disk containing information detailing Department of Education crisis planning for U.S school districts.

Last year, two Saudi men - one wearing a black trench coat despite the Florida heat -- terrified a busload of Tampa schoolchildren by boarding a school bus and remaining for the entire ride to school, all the while laughing and speaking Arabic.

And just this month, the FBI and Homeland Security Department issued a "routine advisory" bulletin to state and local officials warning that foreign members of "extremist groups" either already possess or are attempting to procure licenses to drive school buses. Additionally,
according to the AP:

"[The bulletin] noted ‘recent suspicious activity' by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them."

The dispatch went on to say that some of these same unnamed foreigners have been able to buy school buses right here in the homeland.

Yet the news of such a potentially immediate threat to our children was carefully spoon-fed to us on a Friday afternoon -- not a good indication of transparency -- with a curious lack of concern as a chaser.

A Tepid Warning of an Incendiary Threat

While the report did spark some media fire the weekend it was announced, now -- not two weeks later -- the embers are all but cold. As parents, we are now forced to discover why. Surely, there's something awry in the cloudy ping-pong game of facts being played by FBI and DHS spokespeople, who have absurdly dismissed any possible terrorist linkage.

For starters, officials have shown neither the fortitude nor the decency to properly identify the suspects authorities -- and diligent parents -- should be on the lookout for. Moreover, after stating that law enforcement agencies should "watch out for kids' safety," they then claim that "parents and children have nothing to fear." Really?

So, just what is the extent of the threat and who are these unnamed, undescribed "extremist groups?" We've been down this road before. Refusing to specify race or ethnic background is probably a clear sign that we're not talking about some backwoods militia. And, while there are whispers of an al-Qaeda connection, no officials have yet been willing to go on record with any affirmation.

If they were protecting sources or other secrets vital to their investigation, why issue such an impotent warning at all?

No, it seems more likely that the PC police are now protecting the feelings of Arab male Wahabbist Islamic extremists - or themselves from accusations of profiling - even at the risk of our children's wellbeing.

Of course, anyone doing so would be culpable for delivering our most vulnerable of citizens to our most ruthless of enemies, literally inviting their all-too-well-known barbaric extortion methods.

Terrorism, of course, promotes its goal by its very name. And, what better way to terrorize and demoralize than to target our children -- to exploit the inborn drive of all living creatures to protect their young in order to inflict maximum emotional impact on our country? And what easier a soft target than a bus or classroom filled with many highly visible yet defenseless victims and few, if any, in a position to actually protect them? Plus -- can anyone imagine a more horrific hostage crisis?

The Beslan Horror - An Omen All But Ignored

Sadly, envisioning such a nightmare doesn't require a vivid imagination, as images are readily available by simply googling the word "Beslan." Indeed, the Beslan school massacre remains, to date, modern history's most horrendous example of a cowardly assault on school children. And we ignore its lessons at the peril of our young.

On the first day of school in September of 2004 in the Russian town of Beslan, approximately 100 pro-Chechan Islamic terrorists - many embedded as school workers -- seized over 1,200 children and adults in School Number One. While the details of the siege are quite disturbing, they must be absorbed in order to properly understand the threat before us.

Men, women, and children (including babies) were herded into an unventilated gym, where temperatures rose to 115 degrees. Hostages were given no food or water and women (and some children) were repeatedly raped. Adult and stronger male students were forced to help fortify the building; then shot without mercy; their bodies tossed out a second story window into the courtyard.

Hostiles warned Russian Security Forces that if stormed, they would detonate the building and that for every one in their ranks killed, 50 hostages would be butchered. Armed guards stood amongst prisoners on "deadman switches" which were wired to explosives. Others wore "black widow" suicide vests, which could be triggered by remote control at the whim of their sadistic leaders. Doorways and stairways were booby-trapped and children were forced to sit on windowsills as human shields from snipers.

Unspeakable sadism and horror continued for three long days, and can be graphically experienced by those wishing to do so by a 9 minute slideshow put together by officialmastersofchaos.com (
Video). Warning - this is pretty ghastly stuff.

While numbers vary with their source, across the bloody 3-day standoff some 700 people were wounded and 338 killed, including 172 children. The memories of the
rows of little body bags stretched out in a makeshift morgue are destined to haunt the ages. The murderers, many of whom are still at large, and their methods must also share a special place in our memories - such that similar inhumanity to children is never permitted to occur here.

Children of a Jihadist's God - Acknowledging the Terrorist Mindset

We live in a crazy world in which more than a few Palestinian parents proclaim pride in the "martyrdom" of their own children and promote a culture in which suicide bombers are revered as teen idols. To them, youngsters are seen potentially as both weapons and high-visibility targets. And, while most Islamic scholars can cite passage after passage declaring the killing of children as an abomination, to the extremists, children are obviously a disposable commodity.

They've been strapping explosive belts onto their brainwashed kids and rejoicing in the shrapnel and guts of their own bloodline painted onto charred walls for decades.

And, as any IDF soldier will readily tell you, "brave" Palestinian terrorists routinely take innocent children of their own people as human shields (
video).

But last week, jihadist cowardice sank to a new low when Iraqi terrorists used the presumed innocence of two young children to breach a military security checkpoint in Baghdad. Maj. Gen. Michael Barbero, deputy director for regional operations on the Joint Staff,
told reporters that the vehicle was waved through because two children were visible in the back seat:

"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion, (so) we let it move through, they parked the vehicle, the adults run out and detonate it with the children in the back. The brutality and ruthless nature of this enemy hasn't changed."

I must take issue with the Major's final assessment. This new ploy does, indeed, represent a change for these barefoot barbarians in that they've taken a cue from their murderous brethren in Palestine, sacrificing innocent children to further their loathsome cause. The significance of this malignant mindset must never be trivialized.

It's up to us to see to it that the kids ARE alright

Of all the "soft" targets the United States has to offer these madmen, it's hard to find any more vulnerable than a school.

And, as al-Qaeda has a history of plotting spectacular and awe-inspiring attacks, you'd be equally challenged to find a more inviting one.

Plus, as
explained by Joliet, IL Police Sgt. Dwayne Killian, an instructor in school safety drills, a few successful attacks on schools might be seen as a method to topple the U.S. economy:

"To protect their children from possible terrorist attacks, parents would pull them out of school and day-care centers and stay home from work to be with them -- and the economy collapses."
Abu Gheith's 2002 warning; school plans in the hands of terrorists; Saudi's terrorizing American schoolchildren on buses; 172 Russian school-kids slaughtered; "extremists" seeking to get behind the wheels of bus-loads of our children; jihadists sacrificing children to kill a few Americans; now a new
story of a nutjob in Manilla taking 30 kids hostage on a bus - ENOUGH!

It's become glaringly obvious that -- contrary to the words of both the FBI and the famous song by The Who - our kids are not alright. And it's high time that we parents see to it that appropriate and resolute action is taken to change that condition without delay.

Granted, fortifying our schools against such incursions is a daunting task. Nevertheless, the carefree days of obliviously sending the tots off in the morning with blind faith in their safekeeping are over. And, while authorities claim to be working on "hardening" schools as targets, it's hard to discount this amazingly lame shot at reassurance from the FBI/HMS memo:

"Most attempts by foreign nationals in the United States to acquire school bus licenses to drive them are legitimate."

Comforting? Try reprehensibly bungling. Do we need any more confirmation that there are "foreign nationals" out there bent on our destruction? That the privilege to drive hundreds of our precious and beloved children every day should be reserved for U.S citizens only and then only after extensive background checks? That these checks should not be less stringent (as is often the case) than those of the schools' janitors or lunch ladies, which, in this age of Columbine, run-away sexual abuse of children and the nefarious plots discussed herein, are themselves often recklessly relaxed?

In the unlikely event that you need further convincing that it's time to become actively involved in your school district's safety plans, here's a stark reminder of terror's reach that Sgt. Killian routinely gives educators:

"Osama bin Laden promised that the terrorist attack on a Russian school in 2004 will happen many times over in the United States."

Dare we leave these dots unconnected any longer?

The Senate betrayed our troops and our country March 27, 2007.Here's the article on the Democratic "Blue Dogs" (those that ran as "conservative" Democrats and "a group that purports to fight for fiscal responsibility and strong national security") and how they voted on the March 23,2007 House bill (HR 1591): http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=20009

This column of Michelle Malkin's tells who is helping these ordinary citizens fight these terrorists (and yes, anyone pulling such a publicity stunt in a post-9/11 world is a terrorist) as well as a "John Doe Manifesto". Well, Rosie's at it again! At least Lorie Byrd has it right in her March 29, 2007 Townhall Column, "Rosie O'Donnell is Bad News", linked here: http://townhall.com/columnists/LorieByrd/2007/03/30/rosie_o_donnell_is_bad_news

Which of course, brings me to the homosexual propaganda these days. I have MANY gay friends. My gay friends, however, know and have known since we met (some over 20 years ago), that I in NO WAY condone or approve of their lifestyle. That being said, they refrained then and have continued to refrain from "flaming" (their term, not mine) in my and my children's presence. However, homosexuals like Rosie give gays a bad name and leave a rotten taste in the mouth of anyone confronted with homosexuality. Do I agree with gay marriage? Unequivocally, NO. Nor do I approve of gays forcing their lifestyle and agenda down my throat, and when I or anyone else (including General Pace) voice an opinion, something called "free speech" in this country, we're hounded. TOO BAD. Call me fundamental all you like, the fact remains I, like General Pace, believe homosexual behavior is immoral. It's in the Bible. End of story.

And for the gays that want to force their agenda on youth groups (such as the Cub/Boy Scouts) and subsequently THINK they're ruining an institution...get over it. I was a scout leader and had I known another scout leader was gay and was attempting contact with my son or any of the boys under my care, I would have ordered my son and all the boys under my care to avoid that leader and been extremely explicit as to why. Then I would have sent letters to the parents explaining my actions. This is called protecting the children and being a responsible leader of children.

Over at moonbat central (also known as the GOP.com blog), the lunatics are crawling out of the woodwork. Seems they think Congress is doing the right thing in loading up the emergency troop funding bill with pork (remember all those Democrats that ran for re-election on the platform of cutting pork out of the budget), bi-partisan cooperation (have you seen any of that yet?) and support of the troops (so much support the troops are going to have to go without the funds they need!). Then, of course, Congress goes on spring break. Guess they don't think there IS a need for emergency funding for the troops--the only emergency is for the pork in the bills. THANK GOD BUSH IS GOING TO VETO THIS TRAVESTY!

Moonbat central is still trotting out the old chestnut, "Bush lied, our kids died". Did anyone ever stop to think: "Democrats lie, babies die" (abortion and stem cell research)? Or, with reference to the above paragraph, "Democrats lie, troops die"? Not once have any of these moonbats admitted going to war was supported by their Democrats as well as the Republicans...it was a bi-partisan AUMF. I could go on and on. If you want a good laugh, though, go over there and sign in. FAIR WARNING, THOUGH--BE PREPARED FOR TOTAL INCOHERENCE! Here's the link: http://www.gop.com/Blog/BlogPost.aspx?BlogPostID=2687.

Also a caveat: if you do sign in, DO NOT USE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION! They are stalkers and like trying to infect your computers with nasty viruses. That's how far they'll go to promote their communist/socialist/fascist agenda. They will not answer questions and everytime you get them pinned to a wall, they bolt. They can't answer because their propaganda machines don't teach how to answer. They will attempt every diversionary tactic in the books...much like Billary. Be prepared! If you really want to toy with them, though, continue to ask them questions, hammer the questions in. Also, demand they cite their sources and question their personal integrity. Be prepared for sexual harassment, name calling, etc. And, above all, keep in mind, THIS is what our men and women in uniform are fighting and dying for--their right to spout this nonsense. And keep in mind the shameful protests across the country of filthy, unwashed protestors, thinking they live in the 60's, burning our flag and our soldiers and our president in effigy.

That's it for this week! Stay safe and see you soon!

Response to Michelle Malkin's "I Am John Doe" (HR: Snooper)

My friend over at http://takeourcountryback.townhall.com/Default.aspx?mode=post&g=ebeb9eff-2c8d-46da-a0d5-284425c01d9a sent me this oozingly sarcastic, totally on target response to "I Am John Doe". It truly shows the difference between the subversive, seditious Democrats and TRUE patriots. Patriots are JOHN DOE; Democrats AREN'T. Read the response below.

In Michelle Malkin's CLASSIC item in regards to the suing Imams (see two posts below) , this was one of the replies and it will go down in the Wall Of Fame in Blogdom!PRICELESS!!

I am A Loyal Democrat.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will take the side of any entity that declares itself to be an enemy of the United States. I will consider any action taken by my government to be improper, and defend the position of any nation that opposes my own. I will not stand by while the concepts of freedom and liberty are allowed to infect the thoughts of repressed peoples. Rather, I will combat such efforts and convince the slaves of dictatorships that they have it better than anyone else.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will tell all Americans that they had 9/11 coming as retribution for all of our evil deeds inflicted upon members of the most peaceful religion on earth. I will work to undermine any effort to destroy the Islamic tidal wave of terror that has vowed to wash onto our beaches. I will strive to weaken our military as it attempts to carry out its mission overseas. I shall encourage total surrender to any foe that threatens us.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I shall stir up domestic unrest by separating my fellow citizens into groups, and then I will encourage each group to distrust the next, and convince each that I am their one true friend. Through this magnificent deception, I will rule them all. I will convince minorities that they are inferior, and that they need my special help to succeed in life. Once I have them suspicious of others and fully demoralized, I will keep them down, and make their every gain dependent on what I decide to let them do. I shall oppress minorites worse than any avowed racist could ever hope to.

I am Loyal Democrat.

I will make every effort to criticize people that achieve, to hinder those that aspire, and ridicule those that display self-worth. In spite of my lack of personal merit, I will elevate myself in the eyes of others by bringing people with actual character down. I will prey on people's envy of others' success, and I will gain undeserved power as a result. I will take from those that earn until they lose the motivation to build up mankind any longer.I am Loyal Democrat.I will promote the tyranny of socialism, and crush the only economic system that has advanced mankind. And when we are all financially destitute and controlled by an omnipotent government, I shall laugh at the destruction I have wrought, for I truly hate mankind.

I am Loyal Democrat.

Remember me in 2008 kiddies.....

The Question the Defeatists CAN'T or WON'T Answer....

No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq is in OUR best interest. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq improves our prospects of winning the larger war on militant Islamic Fascism. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq is good for our military, retention and morale. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq is good for our ability to develop and maintain alliances, when our word will have proven hallow and insincere, just as they were in April 1975. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq would persuade moderate Muslims and moderate Arab governments that the U.S. is a steadfast ally in the fight against militant Islamic Fascism. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq does not empower al Qaeda, validate its strategy that we are weak and have no stomach for protracted war, and enhance its recruitment of terrorists. No one can make a coherent, intelligent case as to why losing in Iraq makes it easier for us to deter the Irans and North Koreas of the world.

The Original 24 Defeatist Republicans

Here's the list of the original 24 defeatist Republicans, those that voted FOR the non-binding resolution and spent all that time engaging in traitorous activities against our troops, President and country while wasting YOUR hard-earned taxpayer dollars with their posturing and scrambling to retain their jobs.

Two of them, Wayne Gilchrest and Walter Jones, ALSO voted for HR 1591, the recent, PORK LADEN, time limit setting troop funding bill.

I have included information on the home offices of these defeatists because they often try to "hide" behind needing a ZIP + 4 zip code to send an email. I've got those ZIP codes here to use against them.

Let them know how YOU feel and use the information well!

CLINTON/GORE WATCH!: In case anyone has forgotten Hillary's real agenda, here's quotes from Rush Limbaugh's transcript of his February 2, 2007 show, shortly after the closing of the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting. The link is here: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_020207/content/truth_detector.guest.html
Quote #1: "The other day the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative, smart energy, alternative and technology that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence. I have to tell you, I am not running for president to put Band-Aids on our problems." (Emphasis mine).

Quote #2: "I know a thing or two about winning campaigns. And when our party and our candidates are attacked, we have got to stand up and fight back." (Emphasis mine).

Quote #3: "I've always done that, and I always will. I know how they think, how they act, and how to defeat them. And if you give me the chance, that's exactly what we will do." (Emphasis mine).

Quote #4: "We can make history and remake our country's future. We can elect the first woman president; we can fix health care; we can stop global warming; we can stop the genocide in Darfur, and, yes, we can find the right end to the war in Iraq. Americans are looking for solutions. Democrats, we have them! Americans are looking for change. Democrats, we are that change. Americans are looking for unity. We can unify our country again." (Emphasis mine).

And she made fun of Nancy Reagan's favorite color being red? THIS woman is downright BLOODSOAKED! She had 8 years with her husband for her health care reform--it sucked then, it sucks now. Margaret Thatcher she ain't--we may be ready for a female president, but not this female! She can't hold a candle to Maggie! And how is she going to "fix" global warming? Take on Mother Nature? RIGHT! As for the genocide in Darfur and their political uprisings? They'll just chop her up and put her in the stew pot...she'd run when the first gun was aimed at her. Her solutions for the GWOT? I've blogged in other posts about her contradictory statements there--she's too busy chasing her tail (and she's the ONLY one chasing her tail--Bill's out chasing someone else) to know what she's doing! As far as her taking "those profits"...it's NOT HER RIGHT TO TAKE PROFITS FROM A LEGAL COMPANY BECAUSE SHE'S JEALOUS AND WANTS THE MONEY FOR HERSELF! THE COMPANY EARNED THE PROFITS, IT'S THEIRS AND THEIR STOCKHOLDERS! NOT HERS TO TAKE! Who does she think she is--Hugo Chavez?!?!?!?

From the same source, with Rush's hat tip to Michelle Malkin, comes the following quote from our first traitor on the list, Howard Dean: "The closing prayer at the DNC winter meeting, chaired by Howard Dean, was given by an imam, whose closing line was a prayer for peace and the end to the occupation.?" (Emphasis mine; "occupation" Ms. Malkin's). Yep, boys and girls, the same Howard Dean meeting with Hamas, as linked below.

I truly think Dean should be my first candidate for my Impeachment experiment (treason is an Impeachable offense, after all). Which brings us to:

Our first idiot this week is Howard Dean. Dean has been meeting with Hamas. Here's the link: http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/03/those_disgraceful_de_facto_dip.html. Meeting with member of a known terrorist organization during a time of war is indeed an act of treason. Looks like I have member number one for my personal impeachment process!

Here's a bit of EXCELLENT news, although the Planned Parenhood slaughterhouse doesn't think so! This little tidbit was on ABC News (Good Morning America) on Wednesday, March 21, 2007. It looks like South Carolina is currently arguing a bill that would REQUIRE a mother to be provided with her sonogram prior to having an abortion. If you don't view the sonogram, you can't have an abortion. Here's the link for this story: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2957599

We may be seeing the signs of our long awaited next Ronald Reagan (or a man forged in the same fire) in Fred Thompson. For those of you not familiar with Mr. Thompson, he's an attorney, an actor (Law and Order--the only actor to be on two different Law and Order series at the same time and to have held the same character in all five Law and Order series; primarily on Law & Order: Trial by Jury with a recurring role on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit as District Attorney Arthur Branch AND became the first serving U.S. Senator to take a regular acting role), a Republican Senator from Tennessee from December 2, 1994 - January 3, 2003; he didn't run in 2002. Lately, he has indicated he MAY be ready to set up an exploratory committee (he hasn't committed to that at this time). All biographical information used in this blog can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000669/bio.

Now, why would Fred Thompson be a good president, reminiscent of Ronald Reagan? Other than the obvious link of both being actors? He is a no-nonsense, plain speaking man. He doesn't pussy-foot around the issues and he has no problem telling it like it is and if people are offended, he doesn't care. We need that. He also has a sense of humor. A quote at the above site was this: "After two years in Washington, I often long for the realism and sincerity of Hollywood." We need that humor and that plain speaking once again. We need someone who will put these defeatists in their places, and do it so there is NO question who's in charge of this country.

Further, he was one of the attorneys during the Watergate committee during trial. He's been there, done that. He can be seen in the archival footage used in the Oliver Stone film "JFK". It's not a photoshop--it's really him.

Some humor for everyone--the John Edwards "I Feel Pretty" YouTube is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AE847UXu3Q

However, while we may laugh at the video, my prayers are with the Edwards family for the news received Thursday, March 22, 2007. Mrs. Edwards has suffered a recurrence of her cancer; now, it has affected her bones. It's incurable, but treatable. While John Edwards has often made himself a vain laughingstock, he and Mrs. Edwards have indeed suffered tragedy before, with the death of their son; now this. Truly, my prayers are with the Edwards family during this time.

There are several snarkies going around about the Edwards' decision to continue the campaign. Several people have said John Edwards is insensitive to his wife's needs during this time. While I'm certainly no fan of Edwards, I feel I must interject here. This decision is not for anyone else to make or comment on. The Edwards' have been through tragedy before and have forged a strength and understanding through that tragedy. If Mrs. Edwards is feeling up to continuing the campaign and supporting her husband's bid for the White House, it's not up to ANYONE else to criticize that. She alone knows how she feels and what she's "up" for, energy and healthwise. It's obvious she and her husband are handling everything that can be handled in a priority fashion, while trying to continue their lives. I personally prefer to work through my tragedies. In my opinion, it sounds as if the Edwards', prior to making this announcement, took the time to discuss this issue privately and came to a decision together. It's up to us to respect their decision for their lives.

So, regardless of your personal feelings towards John Edwards, at least be "big" enough to grant he and his wife the right to conduct their lives in this matter in the way THEY best see fit.

GOOD FOR PRESIDENT BUSH! It's about time our CIC started fighting back against the defeatists. He's vowed to veto the bill passed in the House today (by a 6 vote, very narrow margin). He's also stood firm on the Alberto Gonzalez non-scandal.

Once again, the defeatist traitors are wasting taxpayer money, trying to push pork through to achieve their defeat of our troops and country. And, did you know, all 14 of the freshman democrats, all who ran as "Blue Dog" (Conservative) Democrats voted for this travesty? Every last one, and that includes Arizona Freshman Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as well as Arizona's own Pancho Villa, Raul Grijalva. And no, calling him Pancho Villa IS NOT a compliment!

That's all for now...hopefully, there'll be more interesting news during the week!

Statistics on Abortion

According to the statistics posted at the National Right to Life website, http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/facts/abortionstats.html, since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, Americans are responsible for 48,589,993 abortions.

According to the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html, the worldwide number of murders per year is approximately 46 MILLION, with a daily murder rate of approximately 126,000. American numbers are 1.29 MILLION (2002 figures) murders per year with approximately 3,700 murders per day.

We've had 3,200+ troops killed in the greater war on terror in 4 YEARS yet we are allowing 3,700+ MURDERS PER DAY in this country, and the murderers are walking free with impunity.

When, I pray WHEN, are people going to WAKE UP and beg forgiveness for the amount of blood on this country for this atrocity?

Justices Blackmun, Berger, Douglas, Brennan, Stewart, Marshall and Powell....this is YOUR legacy to America-48, 589,993 AND COUNTING.

Justices White and Rehnquist, thank God you dissented and stood up to these accessories to murder-in-black!

My Pet Rant of All Time--Abortion

My pet rant is probably, to me, the most heinous thing in the world and to me, demonstrates exactly what we're fighting for in the way of VICTORY against liberals and defeatists. That rant is abortion, followed closely by euthansia.

But, Miss Beth, you say, what about a woman's right to choose? My response is when an unborn child has a right to choose, then so will a woman.

But, Miss Beth, you say, what about in cases of rape? My response is that child, while a product of a violent act, did not choose his or her existence. He or she didn't cause the rape and didn't ask to be brought into this world as a result of a violent act. Therefore, he or she has just as much right to life as the rest of us. If the child is too heartwrenching a reminder, place the child for adoption with a loving family.

But, Miss Beth, you say, what about in cases of incest? See above.

But, Miss Beth, you say, what if it's not convenient for the mother to have a child at this point in her life? My response is, then she shouldn't have lain down and opened her legs.

But, Miss Beth, you say what about when continuing the pregnancy is a danger to the mother? That's a little more complicated. However, there have been many instances where a continuing pregnancy was "dangerous" to the mother and both mother and child have lived.

But, Miss Beth, what if the mother is an uneducated teenager and the child interferes with the rest of the mother's life and her future opportunities? There are many schools designed for teenage mothers, teaching them how to be good mothers and continue their education. Again, if the child is truly a "hinderance" to the mother, 1) she shouldn't have lain down and opened her legs and 2) place the child for adoption with a loving family.

The truth is we could go on for days with "But, Miss Beth, what if...".

The truth is abortion is murder, pure and simple. A capital crime. An ending to a life.

We hear so much on the liberal left against capital punishment. I'd like to pose a question: If there are so many against capital punishment, for those who have been properly tried and convicted, why then, are they for abortion against an innocent life that has not been tried and convicted?

And the most horrific, the most heinous of these procedures is partial birth abortion.

For those not familiar with this, let me describe. It involves the mother going into labor, or being induced into labor. The child is turned around so he or she is born "breech". The entire body is delivered and just before the head is fully presented and before the child takes his or her first breath, the base of his or her skull is punctured and the brains sucked out. Then the rest of the child is delivered and often placed into a "dying room" to let the child die on their own.

Thankfully, Congress continues its ban on these horrific murders. However, possibly not for long. Not with San Fran Nan in charge. And not with everybody's beloved poster boy, Bill Clinton, lurking in the background. Clinton, who tried to have the ban lifted, was overridden by Congress. Thank GOD Congress showed some spine then!

In a recent issue of Time, there was a significant article regarding crisis pregnancy centers. They provide counseling, help, clothing, find pre-natal care, etc. for women. Planned Parenthood, the biggest slaughterhouse in the country, was boo-hooing becazuse these centers aren't "playing fair". Just what are the crisis centers doing that PP doesn't consider fair? They're showing these women in crisis their children on sonograms. These women see their children moving, breathing, engaging in LIFE. And PP doesn't think that's fair. Why? Because these mothers often choose to give their children life after seeing them on the sonogram. TOO BAD FOR PP!!!

I APPLAUD the crisis centers for crusading to end abortions, for showing women there are numerous options for their unborn children, for helping these women--in short, for trying to stop the slaughter.

Now, there's "Exhale" that provides "e-cards" for women who have had a "procedure". Sounds like they're just getting a tooth pulled instead of committing murder. Something warm and fuzzy to make the would-have-been mother/murderer "feel better" about her "decision" rather than forcing her to face the consequences of murder and not just murder, but murder of her own child. How disgusting can you get?

People on the left are more concerned with the spotted owl and clubbing seals than they are with children. Taking that one step further, your teenage daughter can have an abortion without your permission yet needs your permission for a tattoo or piercing. Where are their priorities?

The Supreme Court decision giving women the "right" to a legal abortion, the "right" to commit murder with impunity, was wrong. It's yet another instance of the court trying to legislate in a moral and religious arena. Look at the blood on the justice's hands--not just the deciding justices but all the justices since then who have upheld that decision.

Immigration-Legal and Otherwise (HT: Greg)

Another subject extremely relevant to today's America--Immigration, legal and otherwise. Folks, I'm the product of immigrants and proud of it. They came through Ellis Island and pioneered through Oklahoma and Colorado. The stories my great-grandparents told were incredible. Their strength and fortitude in laying down roots is something a lot of us have forgotten in today's "easy" world and everything we take for granted.

One thing that was different about these early immigrants was the fact they ASSIMILATED into their adopted country, the United States. They gave up their native languages for English; they fought in the wars as Americans; the flags they waved were American. They didn't ask for concessions and demand the United States accomodate them. THEY BECAME AMERICANS.

I have a few friends that are recently sworn in citizens as well. Their take on the "new breed" of immigrants? Well, let's just say I've seen my cats fight nicer. The new citizens are PROUD of America, PROUD to be AMERICAN, they have children serving in the Armed Forces and they have NO PATIENCE and NO SYMPATHY for those that come here illegally, those that refuse to assimilate into this country and demand accomodations for their needs rather than become full-fledged Americans. My hat is off to these new citizens who are excited to vote for the first time and who are in direct opposition to the illegals.
=============================================
Immigration has played an important role in American history, and the United States continues to have the most open immigration policy in the world. Before the era of rapid communications and transportation, America encouraged relatively open immigration to settle its empty lands. After certain states passed immigration laws following the Civil War, the Supreme Court in 1875 declared the regulation of immigration a federal responsibility. The Immigration Service was established in 1891 to deal with the big increase in immigration which started in 1880.

The outbreak of World War I reduced immigration from Europe, but mass immigration resumed upon the war's conclusion, and Congress responded with a new immigration policy: the national-origins quota system, passed in 1921 and revised in 1924. Immigration was limited by assigning each nationality a quota based on its representation in past U.S. census figures. Also in 1924, Congress created the U.S. Border Patrol within the Immigration Service.

There was very little immigration over the next 20 years, with net immigration actually dropping below zero for several years during the Depression. Immigration remained relatively low during the 20 years following World War II, because the 1920s national-origins system remained in place after Congress re-codified and combined all previous immigration and naturalization law into the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. American agriculture continued to import seasonal labor from Mexico, as they had during the war, under a 1951 formal agreement between the United States and Mexico that made the Bracero Program permanent.

In 1965, Congress replaced the national origins system with a preference system designed to unite immigrant families and attract skilled immigrants to the United States. This change to national policy responded to changes in the sources of immigration since 1924. The majority of applicants for immigration visas now came from Asia and Latin America rather than Europe. The preference system continued to limit the number of immigration visas available each year, however, and Congress still responded to refugees with special legislation. Not until the Refugee Act of 1980 did the United States have a general policy governing the admission of refugees.

Legal immigration alone in the 1990s likely matched or exceeded the previous historical peak decade of 1901-1910, when 8.8 million legal immigrants were admitted. Adding the settlement of illegal aliens makes the 1990s without doubt the period of greatest immigration in America's history.

Continuation of the UN Topic (HT "Dean")

My friend Dean contributed this as a comment in my previous post. I think it's important enough to bring to the front page.

"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men." Cicero - Speech to the Roman SenateMore

More Americans are coming to the chilling realization that U.S. membership in the United Nations poses a very real threat to our survival as a free and independent nation. Here are some good reasons to be concerned:

1. The UN's basic philosophy is both anti-American and pro-totalitarian. Our Declaration of Independence proclaims the "self-evident" truth that "men ... are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights." But, in its Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the UN ignores God's existence, implies that it grants rights, and then repeatedly claims power "as provided by law" to cancel them out of existence. If any government can place restrictions on such fundamental rights as freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms, freedoms of the press, association, movement, and religion, soon there will be no such freedoms.

2. The UN was founded by Communists and CFR members whose common goal was a socialist world government. Sixteen key U.S. officials who shaped the policies leading to the creation of the UN were later exposed in sworn testimony as secret Communists. These included Alger Hiss, chief planner of the 1945 founding conference, and the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Harry Dexter White. The Soviet Union under Stalin and the entire Communist Party USA apparatus worked tirelessly to launch the UN. Since its beginning in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has always worked for world government. The key CFR founder, Edward Mandell House, in his book, Philip Dru: Administrator, called for "Socialism as dreamed of by Karl Marx ..." The CFR was an early promoter of the UN, and 43 members of the U.S. delegation at the UN founding conference were or would become CFR members.

3. The UN has always chosen socialist one-worlders for leaders. The Secretary-General at the UN founding conference was Soviet spy Alger Hiss. He was followed as Secretary-General by Norwegian socialist Trygve Lie, Swedish socialist Dag Hammarskjold, Burmese Marxist U Thant, Austrian former Nazi Kurt Waldheim, Peruvian socialist Javier Perez deCuellar, and Egyptian socialist Boutros Boutros-Ghali. Each has consistently used the full resources of the UN to promote Communist and socialist causes around the world. The Socialist International (which proudly traces its origins to the First International headed by Karl Marx) today claims tens of millions of members in 54 countries. At its 1962 Congress, it declared: "The ultimate objective of the parties of the Socialist International is nothing less than world government ... Membership of the United Nations must be made universal ..." Almost all of the UN's "independent" commissions for the last thirty years have been headed by members of the Socialist International.

4. The UN seeks power to control the environment, population, children ... the world. Both the 1972 UN Environmental Program and the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development laid plans to whip up widespread environmental concerns (some exaggerated, many completely fabricated). These concerns would then be used as justification for increasing UN authority on environmental issues. The statements and publications of these UN programs leave little doubt that their goal is a world government with the power to cancel national sovereignty, regulate economic activity, and control the human race all, of course, under the banner of "protecting the environment." In late 1994, UN planners meeting in Egypt approved a 20-year, $17 billion plan to "stabilize" the world's population. The UN's goal is to reduce population selectively by encouraging abortion, sterilization, and controlled human breeding. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child also claims power not only to grant rights but also to cancel them "as provided by law." It claims that governments must guarantee children "freedom of expression ... freedom to seek, receive, and impart information ... freedom of thought, conscience, and religion," regardless of the wishes of their parents.

5. The UN Charter outlines the path to world tyranny. After giving lip service about not intervening "in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of any state ...," the UN Charter continues, "but this principle shall not prejudice the application of enforcement measures under Chapter VII." Chapter VII discusses sanctions and boycotts, but if these are decided to "be inadequate, it may take such action by air, sea, or land forces as may be necessary to maintain or restore international peace and security." The UN used this broad assertion of authority as the pretext for its armed intervention in the domestic turmoil in Somalia and Haiti.

6. The UN is building its own army to enforce its will. In 1992, UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, fulfilling a directive from the UN Security Council, unveiled An Agenda for Peace, a plan to strengthen UN "peacekeeping" capabilities. The plan calls for armed forces to be made available to the UN "on a permanent basis." It ominously warns, "The time of absolute and exclusive sovereignty has passed" and proceeds to name a long list of "risks for stability" that would be used to justify use of the "permanent" UN army to enforce its will. Incredibly, U.S. leaders are using America's military to pave the way for this UN army. In Bosnia, Somalia, Haiti, and elsewhere, foreign UN commanders have controlled our troops. When 15 Americans were killed over Iraq in mid-1994, Vice-President Gore extended condolences "to the families of those who died in the service of the United Nations." Even more incredibly, it has been the official policy of the U.S. government since 1961 to disarm America and create a UN army. This policy concludes: "progressive controlled disarmament would proceed to the point where no nation would have the military power to challenge the progressively strengthened UN Peace Force." (See State Department publication 7277: Freedom From War.)

7. The UN doesn't settle disputes - it makes them worse! Our ambassador to the UN in 1982, although a UN supporter, admitted, "The UN has become an arena in which countries are drawn into problems they might never have become involved in." Ask yourself: Should Seychelles or Benin or Guyana or Barbados have to take sides in a clash that breaks out on the opposite side of the world? When centuries-old animosities erupt in the former Yugoslavia, why does the UN inject its presence with troops, blockades, bombing, and a parade of speeches? American troops serving as globocops for the UN become targets for criminals and terrorists. In 1983, 241 U.S. Marines were blown to bits at the Beirut airport. Five years later, a U.S. Marine Lieutenant Colonel was kidnapped and eventually murdered by Arab terrorists while in a UN unit in Lebanon (he was unarmed - as required by the UN). The UN "peacekeeping mission" in Somalia cost the lives of another 36 Americans in 1993.

8. The UN ignores Communist atrocities but targets non-Communist nations and leaders. When Soviet tanks rolled into Hungary in the 1950s, when the Chinese Communists were murdering Tibetans in the 1960s, when the Soviets were butchering civilians in Afghanistan in the 1970s and 1980s, when Chechnya was brutalized by the Russians in the 1990s, the UN did nothing! But the UN declared tiny Rhodesia "a threat to international peace" in the 1960s, enabling pro-communist terrorist Robert Mugabe to seize power. And it was a UN-led campaign that brought self-described Communist and convicted terrorist Nelson Mandela to power in South Africa in the 1990s.

9. The UN embraces Communist China - history's most murderous criminal regime. In 1949, anti-Communist Nationalist China, one of the UN's founding members, was forced from the mainland to Taiwan by the Communists. In 1971, the UN expelled Taiwan and embraced the brutal Red Chinese government - a government responsible for over 35 million murders. When the vote admitting Red China was announced, UN delegates danced in the aisles to show their contempt for America and their joy at the triumph of Red China.

10. The UN is a moral cesspool filled with perverts and fat cats. In 1993, the UN Economic and Social Council granted consultant status to the International Gay and Lesbian Association which includes the North American Man/Boy Love Association (advocates of child molestation) and the Dutch group Vereniging Martijn (which also promotes use of children as sex objects). In 1988, the top Belgian UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) official was one of a group convicted of running a child sex ring. Moral bankruptcy is commonplace in UN operations. In Zimbabwe, UNICEF-donated equipment helped terrorists seize power. In Vietnam, the Communists received $13 million from UNICEF while untold thousands of boat people fled for their lives. Fat cats? UN employees are paid 40% more than comparable U.S. workers and some receive subsidized rent. An ex-UNICEF official confirmed that "pampered and cosseted staffs" of various aid agencies "absorb 80% of all UN expenditures."

11. America supplies the money, the UN then finances tyrants and assorted enemies of the U.S., and conditions in the nations "aided" grow worse. U.S. taxpayers pay 25% of the UN budget plus 31% of the UN special-agency budgets. Additional billions of our dollars go to the IMF, World Bank, and other UN related lending agencies where they have been used for incredibly wasteful and subversive UN projects. (Not surprising since these agencies were designed by Soviet agent Harry Dexter White and Fabian Socialist John Maynard Keynes.) Socialist International spokesman Hilary Marquand aptly described the IMF as "in essence a Socialist conception." World Bank "aid" funds went to brutal Marxist dictator Mengistu while he was causing large-scale starvation and death in Ethiopia; to Tanzanian dictator Julius Nyerere as he drove peasants off their land and burned their huts; and to the Vietnamese Communists, sending thousands of boat people into the sea. Even Newsweek magazine concluded that the UN's foreign aid programs tend "to prop up incompetent governments or subsidize economies so they can never stand on their own."

12. The UN is a war organization, NOT a peace organization. Article 42 of the UN Charter claims authority to "take such action by air, sea, or land forces as may be necessary to maintain or restore international peace and security." But the UN definition of "peace" is never given. Tyrannical regimes throughout history have defined "peace" as the absence of all opposition. To achieve "peace" in Katanga in 1961, UN planes bombed hospitals, schools, administrative buildings, and private homes. Katanga was an anti-Communist province of the Belgian Congo seeking freedom from the Communist-controlled central government. The UN is not now, and has never been, a peace organization. It will use whatever military power it is given to force all nations of the world to submit

The Age of the EAGLE Has Begun...

From the Gathering of Eagles website, written by Kit Jarrell of Euphoric Reality:

The Age Of The Eagle

March 18th, 2007 Category: Uncategorized

By Kit Jarrell of Euphoric Reality

In every life there are moments that define us. They tell us in no uncertain terms who we are, what we believe in our souls, and what we are willing to die for.

For those of us who have worn the uniform of our great nation, these moments have stirred in our hearts before–often misunderstood by those who could never understand what it means to pledge your very life to protect another.

But even more rare is the moment that lets us define ourselves, that lets us show the world who we are, what we believe in our souls…and what we are still willing to die for.

March 17, 2007 will be remembered as one of those moments.

Yesterday, in the mud and the freezing cold, 30,000 Americans stood proudly and said with one voice, “This is what we will die for.”

Yesterday, a lone veteran planted his message of support for our troops in the heart of the domestic enemy and said with all his heart, “I will not be moved.”

Yesterday, a row of my brothers stood guard over a long granite list of over 58,000 reasons why my own service was peaceful.

Yesterday, we defined ourselves and our nation to the world.

We are not the swansong of a dying ideal. We are a proud remnant; we are the ones who remember all too well that the price of freedom is blood. We have seen our brothers, our fathers, our sons, and our friends come home in a box draped in color. We refuse to allow their sacrifice be in vain, or scorned by the very recipients of that sweet, precious gift.

The age of the coward and the twilight of the silent are over. The age of the eagle has begun.

Support our EAGLES--past, present and future. We owe them every last inch of freedom we have, every free breath we take in this truly great nation UNDER GOD.

Update on Impeach for Peace Treasonists

It took Mr. Rudolph two emails to say this to me (one email each):

"As always, I can count on you to position yourself the victim"

and

"You are incapable of intellectual honesty."

Interesting take on his part, particularly since I simply quoted him and laid out the facts. Again, amazing how, by forcing these people to look in the mirror at their own actions, faced with their own words, I am suddenly dishonest and positioning myself as a victim.

Laughable really.

Oh, did I happen to mention Mr. Rudolph is the "proud" founder of "World Can't Wait" that was so wonderfully UNDER-REPRESENTED at today's "anti-war protest"--the Gathering of Eagles OUTNUMBERED the protesters by one count of 4 to 1. Further, because of these proud Eagles, not one burned out, hippie wannabe, sheehanista had the balls or the guts to get violent and try to desecrate any of the memorials. These wannabes have plenty of "mouth-off" power, but when it comes to REAL courage to stand for their convictions, they just don't have it.

THANK YOU EAGLES---YOU PROTECTED US WITH YOUR SERVICE, YOU PROTECT US TODAY AND YOU PROTECT THE MEMORIALS AS A LEGACY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
